GreyQueen - I think No.10 is too low down your list. In your shoes, I'd be putting it somewhere around No.3!

So far I have managed to clear the draining board so I have somewhere to put last nights dinner dishes if I ever get round to washing up. Perhaps I'll have another cup of tea before I think about doing anything too practical...
  • Whew you lot can't half talk! I've only been MIA for two or three days! (((hugs))) for Rummer, take care of yourself lovely.

House looks like a clutter bomb has exploded. I washed up Tuesday night and somehow OH has used four or five plates in the space of a few hours last night? Working until 8pm so I'm hoping against hope that he will have done it tonight as I just don't have the energy at the moment. I can't even blame it on Christmas, all the presents are tucked away in bags for life by my bed. For me, it's only going to get worse after Christmas as mum buys LOADS, I haven't asked for much this year but she keeps sending me not so subtle questions about what I'd like.

Courier rammed a parcel half under OH car yesterday, so came home to find a crushed box, damaged packaging (for the new business) and the box covered in grease from the car (which in turn, covered me). Oh and it was soaked through. Why the courier thought he was doing me a favour (these were his words!) by dumping the box in the mud in our front yard and trying to ram it under the car is beyond me.

Anyway, positive energy vibes needed, don't know how I'm going to make it through to 8pm!

    Welcome back Kitty and Laurel!

Oh my goodness I tried watching the hoarder programme and felt really sick - I think it touched a nerve with me. I don't hoard badly, in fact I'm really good at throwing away now - but I think deep down I know I could easily get almost as bad as that, and some rooms do get completely covered in junk if I let myself slip (like my spare room and boxroom now).

I was surprised at how upset the programme made me, I couldn't watch any more after seeing him crawl through tiny spaces in his house - maybe I have claustrophobia to a certain extent.

Just the living room to clean now, and then upstairs bathroom and loo, and I'm all set - will do that tomorrow, visiting poorly family member today, elderly aunt on Christmas eve, staying at my parents' house Christmas eve, Christmas day and Boxing day including visits to poorly family member as well over those days as well - busy time for me this year.

Hope life, preparations and general stoof is going well for all messies, will pop in later.

Edit: Hugs MM, you can do it! Thinking of you.

  • I finished the Christmas tree!

(I am very sad today cos I broken off a long term friendship yesterday and am quite broken over it today, want to sit in the corner and cry, I feel as about as Christmassy as the Easter Bunny)

I have had breakfast. O and I am dressed.

Need to put away the Christmas boxes and wrap my friend's presents.

Then need to visit said friend, come back and sort out the Christmas present situation.

I have a present for the other friend and now don't know what to do with it?

JPS, I wondered that too and found the programme fascinating and hugely upsetting. I keep so much stuff.

    ugh. onward and upward everyone

    Nevertheless she persisted.

MM - bloomin couriers!!! can you claim for the damaged stuff?

GQ - Flippin heck woman!!!! Your list is like mine - long with little time to achieve all I want to

YL - hope the cold goes today

I have finished the wrapping - DH has taken DS out for a walk - they have been gone ages but are apparently having a brill adventure!! That'll mean lots of mud when they get home lol

House is minging but thats on my hit list to start . . . . . now, well after I've copied Frugals idea of having a cuppa first lol

Love and hugs all round, sorry if I've missed you but I have brain fog now

    Helen x

PS I painted the hall last night - walls were so marked that it was quicker to repaint than to clean it hehe

:p:o May have been a teensy bit over-ambitious there but will have to filter down to must-do like the packing and the rest will have to take shape as best we can.

Hi all - my brain is very foggy today, so hugs to all who have had bad news or are ill, welcome back MIAs, and Keep Calm and have a Drink/Cake to all who are in a blue funk trying to get things done:)

Still exhausted from Tuesday night, I hate that one night out leaves me wanting to sleep for days on end.....have done nothing in the house, ordered pizza last night and stayed in bed:o Need to make dinner tonight, but if I could afford takeaway again I would! Everywhere is a mess. It's scary how quickly things can get totally out of control again...just glad I had reasonably productive days at the beginning of the week!

    Hello

Well I was violently sick yesterday :( however I am feeling a bit perkier today :) which is a huge relief!

Finished up for the holidays today and I am going to tidy up a bit this evening before having an early night and hopefully getting the house sorted tomorrow so I can have a nice rest on Sat before the festivities on Sunday :D.

I found the show about the hoarder inspiring an humbling, he had clearly got himself into a bit of a pickle and it was lovely seeing the gardener appreciating the mans fine mind and working with him to sort the garden and house. Great to see neighbours pulling together to help him too and taking him meals was very touching. Hopefully this has given him a good start to getting his life in order.

Hugs to anyone that needs them :)

Just watched the hoarder programme and I agree that it was really touching how the gardener took him under his wing and helped him start sorting his life out, especially after the professionals just appeared to wash their hands of him - although I do wonder if that was a bit of artistic licence from the edittig suite.

Living room is looking a little bit tidier at the moment. Although I think that's because the big box housing the breadmaker that OH is giving me for xmas (which I had to purchase online myself!) has gone out in the hall. I'm not holding my breath on it being wrapped come Christmas morning, despite rescuing his roll of wrapping paper from his belongings that were being transferred to the garage last weekend. Even when the hints (read explicit instructions) are forced home with a sledgehammer, he still whines that its too hard and he never knows what I want!

Went into town to pay some bills and bought some big bags of potatoes and onions from the market so feeling very MSE right now. Not sure I've got enough other veg in to last beyond christmas day but at least we can now survive on potato & onion soup until the shops are bearable again! Still need to pick up a gift for my grandmother so might be braving a supermarket between now and Saturday
