My mum is completely non critical too, I actually get some of my messy ways from her! However in her older years she's become quite a neat and tidy type. She never makes me feel bad about my mess though, and is the only person I don't mind letting in to my house at the moment!

I love a good rummage in charity shops, but had a disappointing run yesterday, nothing really interesting to pick up.

Messy update - downstairs is nearly tidy! I'm actually on to a bit of cleaning now. Upstairs only the main bedroom is done but bathroom and loo are so tiny that it only takes a minute to clean them. Box room and spare room will be left alone for another time!

I favour the "headless chicken" approach Helen... although it does take me about ten times longer to get things done, I just whirl about doing whatever pops into my field of vision next. Makes it difficult to get through a room because as soon as I go upstairs I think "better put my shoes away as I keep tripping on them" which leads (for some strange reason) to "better water these plants before they all die" and so on.

I've just mopped the kitchen floor. The thing about quarry tiles is they don't really show the dirt... which ought to be a good thing but in my case it isn't, I just think "oh kitchen floor doesn't look too bad, I'll do that another time". It was filthy!

Should finish downstairs tonight if I keep going - I am knackered now though so might leave some of it till Friday.

Same here... well not the panic part - i don't think I 'do' panic anymore :D

Got awful stomach cramps (who would be a woman?) and these days, as opposed to years ago when I just 'got on with it', I now shut down totally during that time and relax! Got up late today, neither me or DDs are dressed, and we've been eating yummy food and watching TV all day!!! Thankfully the hellish pain only lasts 24 hours, but for that 24 hours a month, I treat myself to a day of complete nothing :T What I would like to do is treat myself to a massage but can't afford it :( so hot bath, delish food and ignoring the mess is my treat!!!

We had gammon, mash, peas and hm parsley sauce for lunch/dinner (too late for lunch, too early for dinner!) and I will stuff everything in the DW at some point this evening so the kitchen remains tidy, but that is all. DDs drinking tomato soup atm as I have just figured that they make no mess/spills that way rather than in a bowl!

    are you in my house.

I did nothing today, got up late cos I stayed up late after being annoyed by a friend and have been grumpy and tired ALL DAY.

I MUST put up the tree tho.

Messies! Help! make me go up in the loft!!

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Still sitting here!

ooo channel four have a programme on tonight to put the fear of God into us! A hoarding person, he has two houses FULL of junk, starts at 9!

    Loft....................................................Here...............................................I.............................................come!

  • Come on Buffy get in that loft - that tree wont put itself up.

There, did that help? Helen - deep breaths and count to twenty (or fifty). You can only do so much.

Frugal hope you are feeling OK. I got a really sicky headache last night so went to bed early thinking I would go to sleep but the headache kept me awake. DS came in to see me and brought me hot milk and paracetamol - he really is a treasure.

Oh I am so snotty, cant believe I am going to get a cold again over Christmas - every flippin year I get something. I am never ill at any other time.

Still got a couple of presents to buy, why do I always leave the difficult ones until the last minute? I am hoping my cousin doesnt call round with presents for my kids because I havent got her son anything yet!! Oh and any ideas for a 97 year old lady who lives in a nursing home?? Might see if I can get my Mum to have the kids tomorrow for a couple of hours and get it all finished.

Yeah and I want to watch that programme tonight about the hoarder - I used to love the Kim and Aggy programme, always made me feel better.
  • Have been in loft.

have SIX boxes of decorations. Overkill? US? Noooooooooooooooo.

see you all at 9 when I will have a decorated tree!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
