Welcome Lindsey! You are certainly not alone and we are always delighted to have new people coming to join us :jTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0

helloooo:D Gosh, I smiled as I typed that, definitely feeling a bit brighter and happy to be talking to you all! But I do have the messies cold! Woke with a sore throat and woolly head and could easily have snuggled under the duvet all day and slept but the best thing is to get up:)
snookey I've been on venlafaxine and mirtazipine but at different times. That sounds like quite a cocktail! You're right, there is no magic cure, all you can ask for from an anti depressant is something that lifts you enough to start helping yourself - something to take you from "I don't care" to "I do care enough to do a bit of tidying/exercise/socialising because I know it will make me feel better even if it's hard to do".
Emm well said! Enjoy your week off, hope the car boot sale was good! I'm annoyed with myself for forgetting the local primary school's Christmas Fayre yesterday, might have picked up some bargains:( But I slept very very late as some neighbours downstairs had had the most violent argument I've ever heard from 5.30am till the police turned up at 6.30!
Hi mummyjane, good luck with your sorting, good attitude! If it gets done, great, if it doesn't, what the heck?:D
Rummer - I know! 12 years on and off, hopefully no more!:) Well done for pushing through feeling carp and getting on with things:T
MM you have it spot on, that's exactly what it's like! I even get it if I'm say, in the car with my parents, I have words in my head I want to say, even if it's just about the weather, and I can't get them out!!
lindseykim welcome, you are definitely NOT alone here! I know just how you feel about going in circles, and really struggling to get out of bed! It's down to the lovely people on here that I DO get out of bed these days! Please come on here and get it all out when you are able to it, it really really helps!
No demessying to report yet again, though boiler man (yep, him again!:D) has promised to come tomorrow and completely renew all hot water related stuff in the boiler, which will make me feel better and make me do the dishes! Going to make carbonara now, with my guilty pleasure Girls Aloud CD blasting in the kitchen (I'm a rock fan usually!)
BIG hugs to all and muffin if you're reading, hope you're ok! xxxx0 -
oh btw Lindsey, do you do anything to relieve your SAD, like anti-ds,, lamps or biobulbs? x
oh and the other thing is, if you want to do something you enjoy, do it, regardless of whether the house is tidy! You never know, if you make yourself happy by doing that, the feeling might carry on and you might feel more able to tackle something you don't really want to do! Sort of like a reverse reward system lol. And if iyou don't, well it doesn't matter, because doing something you enjoy is important for your health which is reason enough!!0 -
currently doing some washing drying in front of the fire. Almost had a catastrophe then the fire guard that had OH's jeans on it fell over and they almost went into the fire! Whoops! There's so much heat coming off it it's drying things double quick
Wish OH would let me have the washing in here when he's downstairs, no more damp smelling clothes...
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -
oh and wifefaefife - come back, we need you to organise your Messies Christmas Night In:D0

Thanks for all the good wishes, this is such a supportive bunch of people! Welcome Lindsay, hugs to all and well done Rummer, your posts always inspire me when you do your wonder woman act!
I have cleaned the cat tray - it's a covered one with a filter, so doesn't tend to smell and I only have to empty it once a week and replace the litter. When I used expensive litter you could never smell a thing, but now with Mr T value litter, it does whiff a bit at the end of the week when I take the lid off! Still, I save roughly £10 per fortnight so it's worth it.
I've also hoovered kitchen and living room (but very superficially). Haven't done any dusting and haven't made bread... will have to fall back on a packet of crispbread that I keep in as emergency rations this week, I think. I never have the energy to bake bread in the week.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

I have popped in and out of this thread for a while now but think I might join you more regularly if that is ok with you?

I got on top of the house a while back but its worse than before now!!! I have 2 DDs who are 5 and just create more and more mess, get distracted when I ask them to tidy up, and the whole bloody house is getting me down nowI just can't get motivated to get it done and have been working silly hours the last few weeks, and will be working silly hours for the next 2 weeks before being off until January... I really can't wait until then to get everything done so will have to allocate half an hour / an hour a night after work for the next few weeks... But where on earth do I start?
Will read over the last few days pages to try to motivate myself to go and wash the uniforms for tomorrow :eek:Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

yaaay welcome saucy one!:p
I'd go back further than a few pages if I was you, the last few have been dominated by my bl***y boiler saga and general whining:D
I have one school shirt and one pair of trousers hanging up ready to wear, god knows where the others are - but that'll do for now!
I tell you, all of you who work, or look after little ones, and still manage to do ANYTHING in the house are awesome imo!:)
hey jps, hope you're feeling betterx
Have realised I really need to do at least some dishes before man comes tomorrow because there's no space left on worktop, also need cigs but I'll make myself wash up before going to get them. Then I think I'll head back to bed, this cold has me beat - must remember to get echinacea in again!0 -
Welcome Frugal
I may have had to sneak away for a disco napalthough I am now feeling much better and not as bunged up so it was definatly worth it!
The soup was a bit bland but it went down a storm with the family. Now I have eaten I am going to finish off the kitchen and get some more laundry done. Then I have a pile of paperwork to deal with, which although miserable I will feel so much better when it is no longer hanging over my headcurrently it is the elephant in the room.
Both my OH and I work full time and as long as we are organised things are fine, well tolerable, however if we have to work late or if anyone is unwell then things do fall to pieces and then there is little time to get it back on track. It would be lovely to be a SAHM however short of a lottery win it is not going to happen so I try to make the most of every day, enjoying work and fitting in as many pleasures as time allows.

I have no idea what a disco nap is but I really like the sound of it!:rotfl:
Just a sink full of pots to do now, so I think I'll head to the shop. Apparently it's like an ice rink out there so if I don't come back......0
