  • Yorkshirelass - sorry about your troubles with your son`s health. Please don`t feel you can`t post when you`re feeling down, if it helps (and I believe it does) post away and at least folks here can try to help - if its by a suggestion to consider or just a virtual (Hug). All I can say is don`t despair, take things a day at a time and think about looking at some other ways to deal with the problems.

YL sorry to hear about your son, hopefully something will come up soon.

The weather here has been awful, pouring with rain and freezing cold . In fact I had to put gloves and a scarf on to go to the library. It is one of my happy places and I try to go there at least once or twice a week, it is so calming and I love being surrounded by books :)

I came home from work today fully motivated and I have done some laundry, folded it and have made dinner and my lunch for tomorrow. There is a load humming away in the tumble dryer and I am just going to start running the bath and while I am waiting I will wash down the bathroom.

Trying hard to get a lot of the work done tonight so that I can have a real break over the weekend and just need to keep things ticking over. My OH is still happily painting the hall and it is looking amazing, wish we had gone for such a bold colour ages ago. Mind you looks as if it is going to take quite a lot of paint

On another cheery note the bin men came today and we got our main bin emptied which was such a relief :D

Morning all. Sorry I was MIA yesterday but the dreaded lurgy hit the house. I was in bed from Wednesday evening until this morning, apart from frequent trips to the bathroom :( Glad to say I'm much better today but now have 2 days work to catch up on (and 2 days posts)

The plan for today is to finish the washing, write a shopping list and fetch it :exclamati, shred more paperwork, go christmas shopping with my daughter and transfer files from my old pc to the whizzy new one said daughter purchased for me for Christmas :D

Hope everyone has a lovely and tidy day.
    :xmastree:
    Merry Christmas
  • Is it sad I peeked into OH's spare room today and saw a big old pile of wrapped up presents? And he's only buying for me....

*squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* I haven't got a clue what any of them are. I'm stupidly excited. I mean, stupidly excited. I've done my parents a big old stocking full of bits and bobs so they have lots to open and have asked Mum if we can open our presents together after lunch (will be at home with B in the morning, then will be with everyone before lunch, lunch with parents as sister is going to her mother and father in law, and the evening with my parents). Apologies for the blantantly Christmassy post but I'm far too EXCITED if you hadn't guessed!

  • Afternoon all

You really are an amazing bunch of people. You have never met me in person and yet you have all made me feel so much better. Its weird because people I know seem to get embarrassed and uncomfortable when I talk about my son and yet on here you guys say exactly the right things that I need to hear. Big hugs to you all.

Have found a local youth group for kids with special needs and disabilities and amazingly my son is keen to go so we are both going together next week. I am trying not to get too carried away with this because he might go once and refuse to go again but it would be so nice for both of us to mix with other people in the same situation. Will let you know how we get on.

I sat in bed last night looking at the thick layer of dust on the bedside clock and decide I needed to kick myself into action. Have given the bedroom a good clean, changed the sheets, flicked the duster and hoover around the lounge and DS2s bedroom, hoovered the stairs and given the bathroom a quick going over.

I have a nasty feeling I am starting with a cold - you know that tickly feeling in the back of your throat - so have found out the echinacea and taken some. I really dont want a cold!

Love the excitement over the pressies MM - and how sweet to think he has been busy shopping for you!

Hope you are feeling better Kitty. And Rummer I share your love of the library, I usually head there while DS is working with his tutor.

Hope the shift passes quickly Helen.

Right off to see if I can do some more hoovering before I need to get DS2 from school.
  • Hi All.
Rummer, glad you got your bins emptied, and the decorating`s going well.
Kitty, I`m glad you`re feeling better - enjoy the shopping but don`t overdo it if you`re still a bit drained!
Yorkshirelass, I`m so glad you`re feeling more cheerful - and the youthclub sounds promising. Fingers crossed for you! I`ve also got that snotty tickle in back of throat. I`ll be SO piddled off if I do end up with a cold as I`ve got a week off after Saturday!

    Good Morning :j

My DD just received a letter from santa and is currently fleeing round the house whooping and dancing :D. Her xmas elf arrived on the 1st and has been causing havoc all around the house. I do love this time of year!

Not been up for long but I have partially cleared the living room table and I am trying to convince myself that getting off the couch and braving the freeeeeeezing  cold kitchen is a good idea.

Maybe I should try the approach I took last week and work in the adverts (but I just don't want to ;)). As I type my cats are surrounding me on the couch so it would really be unfair to make them move!
