We are not the healthiest of folks this week are we! Hugs and hot drinks all round I think!

I ground to a halt after clearing the table this morning and I have been on the couch since then making my way through endless hot drinks and tissues. On the plus side it did let me finish my book and get some crocheting done.

Really need to get the kitchen properly sorted tomorrow as I want to have a cooking and baking day :)

guys you are lovely! snookey, I'm really [STRIKE]nosey[/STRIKE] interested in what you take, my meds are supposedly quite powerful, I've been on just about everything too, I think these must be my tenth different type! pm if you like or tell me to mind my big nose!

Rummer, Helen, Laurel, get well soon!!!(((hugs)))xxx Really hope there isn't anything really wrong Laurel, but oh god dental pain is excrutiating! Hope the band are good or you might find yourself keener to clear out the garage than you thought:D

jps I'm so so sorry to hear about your relative:(:( That is so sad:( I think you've been wonderful doing all that you have. Hope your cold gets better soon xxx

Mr T was rubbish tonight, compared to last week things were hardly reduced at all! think they saw me coming! Spent too much and didn't seem to actually buy anything, I hate that! Mostly stuff like Linda McCartney veggie things which DD1 likes, and flipping baubles. No red tinsel either! We need one more bit for the tree.

I have to say thanks again because I do feel that maybe things aren't hopeless and I will pick up again. What I really don't want to do is start from scratch with yet more tablets, though a combination like you say snookey - maybe that could be the answer.

Achievements today - got up and dressed:D

oh, forgot to say that when I was in the car with dad I was bragging to him about how organised I'd been with Xmas cards, even remembering to send to his sister and her husband in South Africa before last posting......only for him to inform me that they moved house a month ago and nobody had told me! That'll teach me to boast! I think I'll go back to being muddly! :D

Hi Cat Im on a combination of venlafaxine, seroquel and mitazipine. They seem to be working although the venlafaxine put me in a manic episode when first taking it. It all seems to be working now although as you know its never a cure and I still have low moods but not as bad as previouse.

JP im so sorry about your relative and hope things improve.

Laurel try and get some rest. My dad has an gum abcess and the dentist said he would see him on the 12th without treating him. He has gone to a walk in centre to see an ermergency dentist so hopefully will be in less pain. Ill tell him about the garlic.

Helen good on you for resting.
  • Morning all!
((HUGS)) to EVERYONE this morning, especially those who are feeling down. I just want to say perhaps we should be a bit GENTLER with ourselves...it`s that time of year when some folks get all exited and go into hyped-up super-efficient mode, and some folks get all underwhelmed and the weather and the pre-festive panic brings on a natural lethargy. Give yourselves permission to backslide a little, if you have a slob-out day don`t beat yourselves up over it!
Remember the title of this thread - we post here because we know we are MESSIES! Now, when we have managed to prod ourselves into getting stuff done we can announce it here (without folks thinking `and? So what?`) and encourage each other, Onwards & Upwards...but face it folks, we Messies DON`T turn into Domestic Goddesses overnight, we are Messies because we run out of steam. All I`m trying to say here is we should be gentler on ourselves whilst waiting, trying to build up the next burst of steam to get going again.
Sorry for the mixed analogies, put it down to the shock of being up early again on a day off! Also, I`m in a lovely cheerful calm mood as I now have a whole week off and going to go mud-wallowing now at the car-boot with DGD (IF she ever gets ready!)
  • Morning All :)

Huge hugs to all who need them today xx

I have been reading your posts and it's helping motivate me to get my house sorted. I think I might try tackling a room a day, depending on how much time I have it will either get a quick going over or a proper sort out. Hoping that by Christmas/New Year it will be pretty much done. Well, at least it will be a bit tidier and a bit cleaner - I'm not going to beat myself up about it though.

I am determined not to get completely stressed out this Christmas. Usually we don't seem to have any time to relax and enjoy it but we've already said Christmas day is at home this year, so it should be easier.

Emm - wise words indeed :)
Mummy jane - sounds like a plan :D
Snookey - you are so right, it still takes hard work!
Cat - It can take a long time to find the right meds, worth it when you do though.
JPS - Hugs, I hope the gentleman in your family starts to pick up
Laurel - You are a brave woman!
Helen - I too and sick and tired of feeling sick and tired ;)

Hugs and cleaning vibes to everyone else!

I still feel dreadful and can't stop coughing however I have had enough of it so I am just going to plough on regardless. I am not long up :o yet I have put on the washing machine and when I have finished having a read on here I am going to leap into action :D

The plan for today is to finish the washing, write a shopping list and fetch it :exclamati, shred more paperwork, go christmas shopping with my daughter and transfer files from my old pc to the whizzy new one said daughter purchased for me for Christmas :D

Well that was the plan lol

I ended up doing an hours shopping with DD and DGD then spent the rest of the day playing with the pc. It's a fancy all singing, touch screen mabobby, and I'm having a fun, if frustrating, time trying to figure out how to do everything on it :p

Today has gone much the same so far so I'm about to go put some washing on and start packing my bag for tomorrow. I'm away with work for 2 days so won't get anything done until Wednesday.

Sorry I haven't been very attentive to what's been posted so I'll send general hugs and good wishes which you can use as you see fit ;)

    Catch you soon, K x

Cat- Please don't think that your problems are any less real than anyone else's. I've felt like that before- keeping things to myself because everyone else has their 'own problems' and it just gets worse and worse. Even if you just need to pipe up and say 'argh I feel so sh!tty today and I don't know why!', we all get it :) I certainly do; often there's no precipitating factor for my low mood aside from being so ridiculously passive aggressive that I get angry about so many things but can't find the courage to confront those things. I know what that block in your ability to communicate feels like...do you sometimes feel that there's so much you want to say but it's almost like someone has a hand over your mouth (or in the case of typing, holds your hands behind your back)? (((hugs)))

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time

Well I have made wonder woman look like an amateur today :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:!

In between endless rounds of blowing my nose I have cleaned the kitchen, including washing down the fridge, from top to bottom! My OH is now scrubbing the floor, what a man :D. Three loads of laundry have been done and two dishwasher loads! I have also made baked potatoes for lunch and their is currently a huge pot of lentil and veg soup merrily bubbling away on the hob.

The livingroom is back to a managable state and I am just about to hoover and polish it to give it that extra wee sparkle. My DD is as we speak tidying her room and I am going to tackle the bedroom which is currently hidden under a pile of wrapping paper and xmas decorations.

While doing all this I am also going to whip up a tasty batch of cinnamon and apple muffins so that I have something delicious to nibble on when I finally collapse in a heap this evening :D

Can i join you all please with my messy home!? I seem to have spent the last 3 years going around in circles with tidying and sorting different rooms. By the time i have finished them all i need to start at the begining again. I don't think it helps that we have a small house with 5 of us living in it and too much stuff/not enough storage.
I suffer badly with 'winter despression' and some mornings although i want to get out of bed i just can't seem to actually do it. I have days where i want to go out and do something but can't be bothered to get ready to go out! It drives me mad and reading some of the posts here have helped me realise i am not alone.
I think i am too hard on myself sometimes and spend alot of my time wishing that the house was tidy and once it's done i can spend more time doing the things i enjoy-the house never gets finished and tidy so i hardly ever get to do the things i enjoy.

Thanks for reading-needed to have a little vent to people who might understand my thoughts.
