    thanks snookey :)

well done on recruiting minions ravens, wish I'd done that when mine were younger but then I've never exactly been a good example to them! Totally agree about visitor tidying, I did a bit of that a couple of weeks ago, now the boxes of stuff-to-be-sorted that had been on my bedroom floor for 3 years are boxes in a cupboard, and have been joined by a couple of carrier bags of paperwork which I'd planned to tidy and sort but got scooped into bags in a panic..... now they are out of sight out of mind - aaaargh!!

Signed up for Mail Preference Service tonight. I think this almost counts as decluttering, clutter prevention??!!

We have a vistor staying over Saturday , OH uncle ,so will have to try and be a busy bee in the cleaning and tidying department. He is really nice but I find guests a pain as I can not relax.
Going to give my desk a tidy as its piling up with junk. See everyone later.
  • Mmm, Snookey I know what you mean about visitors. I had family to stay a while back and I was shattered by the time they went. Trying to entertain, feed and play host to 3 extra people in the house was hard work - although I did enjoy it.

Been a brilliant drying day here for the first time in weeks - and of course most of my washing is done! Did a load of whites because I just had to make the most of it, lovely to see it all blowing in the sunshine.

Have had a very lazy day really, so tired at the moment and DS is in need of lots of TLC. Got curled up together with a DVD then my elderly neighbour rang up needing help with something. I really couldnt be bothered but now feel all saintly that I went round and helped her.

Just noticed my printer is covered in dust. Good job you cant see through the puter! Need to have a clean up in here tomorrow.

Oh and Flowers in the Attic, what a great book Cat. Right, off to do a bit of internet shopping, DS needs a new dressing gown for Christmas as his is a bit short and it hardly covers anything if he wears it without pjs underneath!

    Where are you messy people?.

Iv come back to report on my chores. Iv washed the livingroom rug, cleaned the floors, washed and cleaned out the bathroom and hoovered the stairs and landings. Took down the shower curtains which are now in the washing machine. Its amazing what you can do when expecting a visit.

    Evening messies:)

Not a lot done today, couldn't get out of bed! Wiped all the light switches, took rubbish out, posted parcel to Amazon, went for appt with CPN, have agreed to keep dosage the same just now as things are picking up, made tuna pasta bake for tea but lazy way, not OS:o Homepride pasta bake sauce was on offer at Mr T:o Baked potatoes for veggie DD1, another lazy meal! DS buying himself a pizza with his pocket money, after eating the tuna pasta, that boy is a bottomless pit!!!

Very wet, windy and miserable here again today:( Will try and get the dishes done tonight, and write some Xmas cards. Need to go and get a few "bereavment" Xmas cards this year though:(

Still no word from washing machine man :/

    Hugs all xxx

well done snookey for getting all that done today, instead of leaving it till the last minute like me!

YL, as proof that it's not only my short term memory that has gone to pot, I realised last night that it was actually "My Sweet Audrina" I read in hospital:o Don't think I've ever read FITA at all! Still at least I got the right author, and I am enjoying it!:)

Went to off licence tonight for cigs and found................................................................................................................................................

    drum roll............................................................................................................................................

    Stardrops! I was so excited!!!
  • Ravens, I LOVE your analysis of the `types of tidying` - you`ve got it spot on there! And Oh for some Minions around here!
Snookey, glad the tidying incentive is helpful and that the Uncle visit goes well.
I didn`t like flowers in the Attic - must be in a minority of one! Enjoy your read anyway Cat, and re the Eezy Onions most supermarkets stock them, the tin has a light brown label - between 60-7op, but you can use half & fridge/freeze half. Perfect for CBA need of onions.

I had a better day today - pleasant early shift, got home and felt grumpy again so tackled the fridge...was going to make another mega cottage pie, used up lean mince, leftover gravy/carrots/ parsnips/a tired leek & a large paper bag of exhausted mushrooms... then did the dreaded phone call to friend coming over tomorrow. (needed to head her & other friend off meeting here & meet up in town)
Really enjoyed brief chat, & it turns out the other friend can`t make it tomorrow after all, hate to say it but though I love her dearly I am rather glad this time, it would have been a bit of an inquisition, and now at least 2 of us can have a really good natter & catch up, we haven`t for ages.
I cheered up SO much I did herby dumplings instead of mash to top my mince stuff - and it was Very Yum.

sounds lovely Emm, glad you're feeling better and that tomorrow night is shaping up well for you!! xx

ALL Christmas cards which need to be posted are ready to go:j (I have NEVER done this before mid-december! See what you people have done to me!:D)

Kitchen floor mopped. Some dishes done then the blinkin' hot water went again:( They are coming to give the boiler a full service on Monday morning so hopefully they will finally identify the problem:mad: Cleaned toilet and cleared bath of DD1's flipping hair (she is definitely moulting!) Forgot I'd done those two things, I think that's a good sign! :)

As I actually followed through with the Christmas cards, I'm going to make a plan for tomorrow, make a start on the HUUUUUUGE mountain of post sitting at the front door.

    goodnight all xxx

Yorkshire lass hope your son is feeling better. I hate it when children are ill or down.

I dont have a washing line as when the dog was younger he used to pull the washing off by jumping up. Ashamed to say its been years and the dog can just about get on my knee now days.

OH said something really funny and out loud the other day whilst buying soup, looking at the !!!! a leekie he said to the woman beside him, thats nice soup , that leaky !!!!!. Well I was crying with laughter. He was mortified.
He has put it on facebook as he knowes Ill tell everyone at the party on saturday.

We have a mouse in the house again. I dont like them being killed by the cats so after my DD run in to tell me that one was in the cats clutches I ran after the cat. I did a rugby tackle on the cat and as I did so the mouse dropped and ran off. The cat looked at me with disgust and I found her later lying on my clean black top. I suppose it was her way of getting me back .Lol.

Cat every year I buy cards at xmas and never get round to posting them.
Cat your catching the cleaning bug be carefull or you will be a fly lady, lol.

Emm I watched a film called flowers in the attic some years back a badly made eighties tv film as I remember. Only remember bits.
If you can watch the film called the help or read the book its brilliant.

Morning messies! We have a day off today so I have taken the car in to have its ear-splitting noise checked out... turned out to be a wheel bearing which isn't as bad as I feared, and it's getting done today :j

It's a glorious day here too so I walked the mile or so home, and feel very pleased with myself for that

House is still extremely messy, but we have a family member who has had to go to London for some very serious surgery, and we're visiting every weekend, a seven hour round trip. The house can get as messy as it likes, I'll deal with it when we break up for Christmas.

I'm about to make some bread now, will change the bed and clean kitchen, bathroom and loo today.

Hope everyone is doing well - keep on keeping on, and all that!
