Sorry I have not been around but I am struggling health wise and I am either working or asleep at the moment. The house is teetering on the edge at the moment however I have been keeping on top of the public areas so it is respectable of people pop in.

Not had a chance to read back to see how you all are. Hogs to those that need them and I will come back tomorrow to catch up properly and update you on my tidying :D

It's good to hear from you, sorry you're not keeping very well :(( Well done keeping on top of hall, living room and stuff, I really find those two areas hard!!

Can also report that muffin is ok and will be back soon:)

I have covered my shoe box in paper. It looks pretty !!!! to be honest but hey ho, maybe it will look better with a few stickers on it!:o

Good to "see" you again Rummer, keep taking care of yourself and get better soon.

Helen, my idea of veg is carrot and parsnip mash (cooked on an industrial scale and frozen in four-portion boxes), the odd bag of baby spinach leaves (easy to grow my own in summer) and some savoy cabbage or frozen sprouts, broccoli etc. I am naughty and will avoid veg altogether when I'm off the wagon diet wise, but when I start eating it again I remember how good it is.

You can also hide veg in bolognaise sauces and casseroles; cook it and puree it - just as good, makes a really nice base stock too. I grate carrot into bolognaise and it's really nice.

I'm not keen on much fruit either, but I keep a few bananas in and have one with breakfast sometimes, and maybe one at break time at work. Pineapple is good, tinned is fine - I can't afford the stuff in juice but I get the value stuff in light syrup and drain that off. Just go with what fruit you do like, rather than trying to make yourself eat fruit you don't like much.
I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Hi everyone. Had a good lie in, just got up. Well yesterday managed to get most things done, except for the sitting room. Feeling really pleased with myself. Its all looking quite tidy. I really do find writing stuff down helps though.

    [STRIKE]Kitchen
    downstairs toilet
    hall (excluding cooker)
    Laundry on and hung
BEDROOM (OMG its so messy), decided to swap wardrobes with spare room and i have clothes everywhere, mainly floor[/STRIKE]
    Sitting room, quick tidy
    [STRIKE]Bathroom[/STRIKE]

If i could achieve the following today, i would be so pleased

    Tidy sitting room
    Sort papers
Upstairs hall & stairs and hoover
    Sort sitting room cupboard
Wrap the xmas prezzies i have bought

I have a spare room, which is so messy, piled high, also the bed, my daughter is going to take some pictures of it, and maybe i will post them, it might give me the incentive to tackle it next week sometime. Have a nice day everyone.

afternoon all :) Helen, I've seen people talking here about vitamin D supplements for ME, had a look in Tesco last night but couldn't see any so will try boots. Also Co-enzyme Q10, supposed to help release the energy from food. I tried them but didn't notice a difference, I might try them again now I'm feeling a bit better. Obviously iron if you think you could be a bit anaemic. Boots supplements are labelled, I think it's green for energy?

I really like veg but I'm not a big fruit lover, though I do like satsumas and plums. I'm eating some prepared fruit I got yellow stickered at Mr T last night for my very late breakfast, apple, melon, grapes, strawberries. It's ok I suppose, just have to remember it's good for me..

    Sending love to snookey ((hugs))

Just up so have done nothing so far, been driven demented all night by the wind, rain, and the burglar alarm in the fruit shop across the road going off continuously. Phoned the police a while ago so hopefully they'll get someone to switch it off soon!

Weather has cleared up now thank goodness!

Plans for today - hmmm....honestly can't think of anything I feel like doing! Wish I could get on with ironing like you Helen, but I just can't bring myself to do it! Well done for yesterday, and Good luck with your plans for today Save Dosh, and well done Rummer!

ps I was a diddy last night and bought evaporated milk instead of condensed for the banoffee pie. Can I use it somehow?:(

Well my advert plan has worked really well and the kitchen is ready to have the surfaces wiped and the floor scrubbed. The laundry pile is also rapidly depleting (thankfully).

Being unwell recently has made me take another look at how I manage things in the house so I am going to have my shopping delivered weekly to save time and that time I will use to keep cleaning. Also going to recruit my OH into more regular cleaning support.

My DD has been keeping reasonably on top of her room (with occasional support) which has made a big difference to her life and mine. She is now happy to go upstairs and play which means less TV watching. It had started to bother me the amount she was watching and now that the level has reduced I feel a lot more relaxed about it.

The DIY my Oh has been doing has also been an incentive to clean as I now have beautiful rooms with artwork and lovely things in them for me to enjoy :D

Helen - get yourself to the docs hun - sounds like how I was when diagnosed with anaemia
  • Helen i think its best to have veg n fruit, boil up a stack, even frozen mixed and then blitz, puree and freeze, you can then add to sauces, etc, if you dont want to do that, get yourself a good multi vitamin pill, including iron, i have a stack of these, slightly out of date, but still fine, which i got a while back from food bargains, if you want to give me your address i will send you a couple of packs with no bother, or if not, you could get yourself a tonic from the chemist. There might be a medical reason for your tiredness, so maybe a checkup is in order. Take care.

Cat Like someone else said, you always seem to pick up and acknowledge new posts, so thanks for that. I have done naff all, kids just gone to gran/dads for sunday roast, so i will try to do what i need to, i have 3 hours.
