Hoping you get it Laurel! Now I'm going to be chewing my fingernails till you let us know!

Very little done here but reaping the benefits of doing a large pea and ham casserole in the SC, and slicing 2 small loaves of HM bread - all meals accounted for this week! I don't mind eating the same thing day in day out, till I get fed up and switch to something else. It's a good job, because I don't have a large enough freezer to support a varied daily menu!

I feel as though it's just work and sleep in the week, especially now it's dark morning and evening when I commute.

Didn't get it. I should get some experience in a secondary school, apparently.:(

The thing is, I AM getting secondary school experience-in their school-but I didn't mention it as it's to acquire the hours I need to apply for secondary PGCE (my degree is in Chemistry) and I didn't want to look like I wasn't keen for this job...

So...I keep getting shortlisted for interviews, but never get the prize. I'm starting to wonder if I'm a lot more impressive on paper than in person-but I mustn't think like that (unless it's in a constructive way, I suppose). And I feel quite scared about leaving a job to go for PGCE (assuming they'll take me for that, of course) when I don't seem to be capable of landing another one.

    Bother :(

  • Well done Laurel for getting this far, hope you are somewhere celebrating good news!

Thanks for your kind words about my son everyone, and your advice Emm. I know I really need to speak to the parents but am a bit worried about how they will react. If I ask them nicely to explain to their kids about the health problems DS has surely they are not going to be nasty to me? I just know one of them is the sort that may not take kindly to her son being criticised. Reading that back I sound like a right wimp but its hard not to get emotional about it.

Have done lots of activities with DS this week so not too much housework. Washing is a nightmare, cant seem to get on top of it and the weather has been rubbish. Oh for one dry, blowy day to get some things dry outside.

I am starting to accumulate bags of Christmas shopping in our bedroom so its starting to look messy again. I am ashamed to say I have a big bag of things for the charity shop that have been there for a couple of weeks. Must sort that.

Right off to tidy the kitchen up and put yet more washing over the airer. Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Laurel, sorry you didn't get it but you were a serious contender so you really can feel proud of yourself - I know that's no consolation just now but it's true. I did my pgce a couple of years ago but decided after I got it that I didn't want to be a classroom teacher. I work in secondary in a different role, and love my job - I wouldn't have got that job without my pgce, though, so it's not a wasted qualification by any means.

Laurel sorry to hear you did not get the job, something better is obviously waiting round the corner for you. If you are passionate about teaching then go for the PGCE it is such an exciting, challenging and rewarding career :D

I sadly have been really quite unwell recently so I have fallen behind in the house tidying stakes and the laundry is quietly planning a takeover of the hall :rotfl:

Hoping that I will feel better tomorrow, and that I can start reclaiming my home.

Sorry about the job Laurel - I'm sure there's a better one waiting for you just around the corner.

DH taken kids to school and I'm about to whizz off to GP. Then need to deflea and worm the dog, do some housework, Mr T coming between 11-1 and then walk said dog. Oh, swimming straight from school so another mad dash!

Today I want to focus on bagging up stuff for charity shop and maybe photographing some stuff to go on Netmums .... we'll see - I've said this before and nothing happened :o

Have a good day all x

Been away for so long - would love to say it is because the house is no longer messy - but that is no not true

Welcome to all the newbies, hello to the oldies and hugs to all who need them.

Today is the first time in ages I have felt like tackling anything -

I woke at 7 and have cleared all the ironing.

The washing is on the line, but still have about 4 loads to do so machine will be on overdrive today - it will all be clear before I go to bed tonight.

Age Concern are collecting a bed today - it is being replaced by a sofa bed for the spare room. Once the bed is gone I will hoover and dust in that room.

Need to find some paperwork for mobile contract as friends and family discount has not been applied. So will have to go into town later to get that sorted.

Beef in the slow cooker, with carrots, swede, onion and a can of beer. Will be tomorrow's dinner in a pie with some pasties for the freezer.

Baked gammon for tonight with roasties, cauli cheese and any other veg in the fridge. Leftovers will go in portions for the freezer.

Also got some ebaying to do - if I cba

    Will report back later.
