Just stripped my eldest sons bed and removed: 2 fleece throws, 13 cuddly toys, an ipod and headphones, 2 cushions, 3 pillows, a torch, a hot water bottle, a book and a notepad and pen. Its a wonder he has any room to get in there! It did make me smile though.
At least there were no dirty pates or cups hidden in it :eek:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Busy day today visiting family so nothing done at home of course! A bit of clearing up will be done in the morning, and some washing. Hope everyone is well and having a good weekend.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

I've cleaned and tidied the kitchen, sliced up HM bread ready for the week, done 2 loads of washing, put a pea and ham casserole in the slow cooker and now I'm going to do a very cursory hoover round before slobbing out for the rest of the day!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Phew, skidding in sideways before I'm off again to do more! Took Doggington to the pits with B and had a nice long but brisk walk, did the mountain of washing up and the laundry and now about to cook B dinner, before shooting upstairs to do some exercise. Phew!

Evening all
Feeling stuffed as DH has cooked a lovely Roast Lamb tes for us on the oven that we fixed yesterday with the new element that arrived in super quick time [ordered it at about 10pm Thursday eve and arrived Sat morn] from UKWhitegoods - about to send them an email telling them how impressed I am!
Yesterday morn DH and I went to the craft fair - lovely stuff but oh so expensive - too much for our pockets, we then went shopping and bought the kiddies some more Xmas stuff. Then we went to the Lottie and lifted the last of the Beetroot and DH pickled it.
Today we took DD to the opticians to collect her new glasses, dropped her off at Mums and then had an incredibly lazy afternoon
Tomorrow DH and I plan to go for a walk somewhere to make up for todays lack of energy.
Hope you are all ok and had a good weekend

Hi everyone. Iv not done much today apart from some washing. OH made the dinner and I put out the pudding.
Dog decided to wee on another rug got a severe shout at and put into the back. Had to get out the george cleaner at 11.00 last night. Lucky for us that we are an end house so not too much noise for next door.
Going to pay bills in the morning after dropping dd at school.
Take care everyone.0 -
Hi All - I just spent ages typing a post & lost it! GRRR. Own fault, never mind!
Just catching up after 2 longday shifts...some folks might call that a weekend..however...
CAT - belated Hugs for your birthday. I`m a bit concerned there`s no post from you since, I DO hope it went well. Please let us know, remember you have friends here, folks who care even though we`ve never met.
Laurel- Good luck with the interview.
Yorkshirelass - Sorry to hear about your son being upset. Kids can be cruel & thoughtless, and I understand your dilemma. Hope your son is ok but still, a tactful word to the other kids` parents - if you feel they`d be able to listen - if you were in their place you`d want to know and put your youngster right about things, if nobody says anything then those kids AND their parents are no wiser.
Wifefaelife - know what you mean about dread getting folks in to do repairs & stuff - you suddenly see the place through `strangers` eyes` and every scuff & cobweb (AND the rest!)become luminous! It`s bad enough with outdoor stuff, my garden is also wild & messy!
Kitty - Well done you! Got upset then got ANGRY - Anger can be a great source of Energy, and it sounds to me like you channelled it rather well!
Snookey - hard luck on the rugs - been there several times. Now only have either wool or cotton that will go in my WM or (cotton- gets very heavy when wet) in the launderette, then dry over doors if weather not fit for outdoor drying. Pointless shouting at my daftie-dog now, she`s deaf as a post! (This was the 1st Bonfire season that she wasn`t upset though, just quite oblivious!)
Helen - glad you got your oven sorted.IMHO there`s no REAL long-term substitute!
Busy Messies - I quite envy your weekend achievements, however small...I have only concentrated after work on FOOD & WARMTH at home since Friday, roast pork shoulder/HM stuffing/ bucket of gravy & heaps of carrot/parsnip/mashed spuds just fed us 3 days, plus last-minute steamed greens - and well received by menfolk, then very basic washing-up only, cosy fire lit at nights (OH got coal & logs in, & did bins/put out for morning - he`s between shifts too)
TOMORROW - much may depend whether it`s Daylight or `Greylight`, but I`ll catch up to some extent- necessities first...general messiness will be addressed /or not, as time/mood & energy allow, also muchly depending on whether DS & DGD are in normal-messy or ultra- messy mode..and whether I rant or ignore in response! My next few days are short shifts, so allows for more `normal` sleep & eat pattern and head not buzzing full of work stuff when I hit the sack. (That`s why I`m still here now, thinking aloud at Silly O`clock! You lot are a great antidote to that, actually!)
MessyMare - hello `again`- I recognise your posts, esp ref to `manboy`. What was your previous name?
G`night all, God Blessxx0 -
Hello everyone, it`s ages since I`ve been on here or even lurked. Really need to get our house sorted out.
I`m disappearing under the piles of paperwork on my desk. Also have far too many books lying around and no where to store them.
Magazine rack is overflowing, kitchen table has become the overflow.
Spare room is a complete mess again. Need to sort it out because we need somewhere to store the presents we have bought for Christmas.
Kitchen which is also diner/my office (I work from home) is a shambles. We need a new kitchen fitted. The oven only has one temperature (hot). Hole in the wall above the fridge/freezer due to the new one being too tall for the space.
Flooring has so many rips in it. Can`t take it up though because concrete floor underneath is awful. Plus everything needs a thorough clean.
Need to paint the bathroom plus give it a deep clean.
Our bedroom is really dusty, DS bedroom (don`t know I never venture in to it).
Living room and hall/stairs/landing are the most presentable places at the moment.
Don`t really know where to start. Busy working full time and don`t feel like staying in at the weekend to do housework.
Apart from all the above, I am happy and smiling. It`s our home and it`s lived in.0
