oh my gooness Helen! Glad everything is ok, must have been a heck of a scare though! xx
thanks snookey, I will enjoy it....:beer:x
muffin so glad you are trying to sort out some help!x
tatty you rest up and get well! x
Today went pretty well really, I can see my bedroom floor, put out two bin bags of rubbish just from there, one bag for the charity shop and another for recycling. Got to sort out some clothes to hang up tonight, and clear my bed but that will do for today. Mum washed up and cleared a lot of the living room, and Dad put up the hooks and fitted the new toilet seat. Loads and loads and loads left to do before tomorrow night, but I'm looking forward to getting to a position where I can start sorting bags/drawers/cupboards and dejunking them, one at a time, starting Monday:D It's the paperwork mountain I'm dreading.....
Won a tenner on the lottery last night and wasn't up for cooking at all tonight, so the kids had a chippy and I had leftover bolognese, so hardly any washing up thank goodness!
Hope everyone else is well xx0 -
Hi everyone. Hope all the poorlies are feeling better today-and depression is being poorly-the trouble is that it makes you prone to believe the idiots who think it isn't... x
I'm obviously extremely ungrateful, because I'm distinctly relieved that my parents (who seem to have been helping me every weekend for months) can't come this weekend. I know how lucky I am to have their help-and generosity-we spent last weekend making a start on the fence, and my dad insisted on paying for everything. But I can't remember the last time I had a rest, and I won't get one this weekend because I have a job interview on Tuesday(gulp). My confidence isn't high...I don't do too well at interviews when I'm feeling desperate, and I am. Without going into details, if I stay where I am much longer my own black dog will wake. I need out.
Anyway, the contents of my kitchen are still on the living room floor, as the plasterer disappeared with the job half done. He called tonight-it turns out that he fell off a scaffold and got plaster in his eye, so he's been in hospital with burns to his iris. He's allowed to work as of tomorrow, and wants to come and finish off tomorrow night...and downstairs is full of clothes horses draped with drying knickers...import this0 -
Have been packaging things up since I got home from work. Am truly pooped. I will finally sleep well tonight after a quick but much needed soak in the bath.
helen jelly Gosh! What a scare! Glad to hear the panic is over... x0 -
Tattycath - now at least you have a label for why you feel carp. Hope you feel; better soon, pamper yourself when you can, HM soup etc.
Cat, happy BTHDY for tomorrow.
Laurel - Your kitchen will keep, Goodness knows, mine has!
Have just had another very nice early evening in the pub - it appears yesterday was `just a practice`!!! We went outside for cig-breaks intermittently and listened to bell-ringing practice (parish church next door), and watched a fullish moon and clouds scudding over it. Lovely.
Got home 9pm, have lit fire and got started on a green Thai (chicken & prawn. Will throw in rice-noodles from freezer, so no rice to cook.) It`s so rare me & OH get time off to coincide like this.
Messy issues can wait, one has to prioritise! Keeping on top of basics, saying `buggrit` to the rest -for now!0 -
I am thoroughly fed up!!!
I was cooking tea tonight and it was all a bit rushed cos DS had to go to an Open Eve for his next school so tea was a quickie - bacon and chips - bacon was cooked, checked on the chips and the flippin oven has packed up [heater element has stopped working] so kiddies had bacon sarnies and out we went. I've been back 20mins and I've took the oven apart and checked the element and ordered a new part but the absolute earliest it will be here is Monday but probably Weds so no oven till then, DH will be mad cos he loves cooking!! Kitchen was looking lovely earlier and now its a bloody tip again. I peed off with it all

Hi Guys,
Not had a chance to catch up on all the messys latest news, so hugs to those that need them and a well done to those who are feeling a bit more organised.
My house is a total tip......and I have an internet, facebook and twitter addiction (due to avoiding housework!). I want to do up our hall and get new doors. I was totally ashamed when the joiner came round to give me a quote. Getting another quote tomorrow night so I will have to get my act together. Ok off to bed now, I will need the energy tomorrow.I love MSE freebies and comps. Thanks posters0 -
Had an easy day today. Got daughter sorted for school then went back to bed. Got up at 12 and sorted out the chairs and table for friend then had a coffee and shower. Went out for the afternoon to Asda and Tesco with friend, we really know how to live it up,lol. Bought clothes from Asda. I normally end up putting them back on the rail through guilt but friend pushed me to buy, so I did. Convinced myself this time that Oh spends on himself without guilt so I should. Bought daughter two tops in Tesco, less guilt.
OH took dd and son to Macdonalds so no tea to cook got myself a ready meal.
Iv done a few loads of laundry and some small bits of decorating and thats it.
Helen glad its good news shame about the oven though.
Iv thrown out the wool rug as it was beyond help and was smelling . Iv decided that the room the dog is in will not have rugs just the wood floor at least that way its easy to clean. He is old so Its not something I can change.
Im off to bed . See you all soon.0 -
