Just to report There`s still half my mega shepherd`s pie left even though we had seconds. It was one of my best. So that`s tomorrow`s supper after-pub sorted.

Well done to all you messies who are starting to sound suspiciously like.....Flyladies!!!:D

YL, I will go ahead on Friday, but I'm going to have to ask my mum to give me a hand tomorrow, if I know she'll do that it'll help my motivation because just now it feels too overwhelming to even start:)

Feline, great pics, once I sort out the visible areas of my place I'll start on the hidden ones!:D

kittywight glad you had a good time with your new mate!

Emm enjoy your evening at the pub tonight, that shep pie sounds fab!

I just read that back and it looked like sheep pie. Time for new contact lenses perhaps.:o

Dragged myself out of bed early today (10.30am lol) in the hope that I'll sleep tonight. Was in bed for 8 last night, listened to a bit of opera (because I'm so cultured:rotfl:) and was so tired I turned my light off at 10pm....5 hours later, still awake:(

Done nothing except take a bag of rubbish out, and also got another load of cookery mags for recycling. There has been a box in my hall since I moved here with mags and cookbooks in and various stuff piled on top of it, now I can get rid of that box and open the door to the electric meter cupboard again! Going shopping at Mr A soon with mum and dad for a few odd things and booze for Friday. Also going to ask for a row of coat hooks for the hall for my birthday from Argos. I CAN afford them myself, but it seems the more money I have, the more loathe I am to spend it! When I'm broke and in the red I just don't care, but especially since coming on here it's so nice to be in the black and see that I'm saving a small amount each week, that I don't want to ruin it even buying small things!:o Have always been that way though - if I can afford it, I won't, if I can't, I do and stuff the consequences:o
  • Cat, enjoy your shopping outing! (I`ve just enjoyed mine.) Don`t stress about your party, just decide You are going to enjoy YOUR party, however much or little mess you get cleared. Decide on a time to stop the tidying etc. then say`buggrit`!
I`ve rushed around like a daftie this morning, but got home by quarter to one, that`s an achievement in itself. First had to get car headlights sorted -2 new bulbs - my garage-man is a real hero, they do look after me there. Then Mr.A, got a huge pork shoulder joint that I`ll cook on Friday and use leftovers at weekend as I`m working all the weekend so need quick meals then. Treated myself to a new plain top(£4.50) to go under a nice charity shop fluffy wool thing - I`ll wear them tonight.
Then to Mr T for petrol as my 5p/litre token expires today - didn`t go shopping there tho - managed to restrain myself! Came home the `back way`- country lanes as town is all messed up with road works.
Called in at village hardware store & bought some black buckets (£1 each) then at coalyard to order 2 more bags. (OH can fill the buckets while he`s off, store them in old Wendy-house. Brainwave!)

Quick blitz in kitchen, put away shopping, then a quick post here while having a cuppa. (and it`s still only20 past one.)
I now need to go for a shower/hairwash/condition, hair like rats tails! I hate using hairdryer, so will potter having a tidy as my hair will dry better if I keep on the move!

Afternoon all, oh I am so sleeeepy!!! DS did his favourite trick of landing in my bed after I had been asleep for about an hour and waking me up. Thats it then, the whole nights sleep completely booogered. To be honest this weather really isnt helping, its never got properly light today.

Pizza dough in bread maker, sauce simmering, house still reasonably presentable after sisters visit. Would anyone mind if I had a half an hour power nap?

Absolutely nothing achieved here on the messy front. Hope everyone else is doing better! Love the pics FelinePrincess, thats the trouble isnt it, you have got to make space in one place before you can move things from another. Keep up the good work!

Emm, your shepherds pie sounds lovely.

And where is MuffinMan? Let us know you are OK.

    Get well soon tattycath:(

Back from shoppping, got a few more things in Argos, the hooks, a new toilet seat, bath mat, Value duvet, and a laundry basket for DS's room. Getting it all for my b/day from M&D - dead glamorous, me!! Really pleased though 'cos there are bits on the old loo seat which won't get clean no matter how hard I scrub, and the bath mat was the worse for wear too, so those will really help my motivation to clean the bathroom:)

Also treated myself to a bottle of Mr A's version of Bailey's for Friday, though the chances of it lasting till then are ....erm....nil!! Had a sneaky one already whilst making the dinner....

M&D coming down tomorrow to give me a hand, thank goodness because I could flop into bed right now!:)

Hope everyone else ok, congrats on all achievements big or small! xx

Well it never rains but pours!!!

Was planning to go to Cambridge today with Mum - she wanted to go shopping there, DH sent me a text at 7.30am to say he was on his way to Hosp as he had chest pains!!! I took kids to school and then went to hosp, he was in less pain but was having ECG's - after 3rd ECG they suddenly went from "your going home its muscle pain" to "you're being admitted and take this medicine now" Quite scarey!!! Anyhoo his third ECG was abnormal but his 4th is normal, he has to have a special blood test 12 hours after the pain started and then if that is ok he can come home. The blood test shows correctly if someone has had a heart attack and its a fool proof test, we think its muscular and so does the Doctor now but who knows!! So a tense wait till the test is done and then the results - should know by 8ish tonight. He's just sent a text to say he finally got to sleep only to be woken by the Tea Lady shouting in his ear about wanting a drink!!! Enough to bring on a heart attack!!

So no shopping done, not a think in the house done. Kitchen is a mess but hey ho who cares - not me

    Helen x

PS Mum was most put out cos she didn't get to go shopping!!!
Projects made for craft fair - 40 :)
    1st fair on 13/4/14 :j
  • Oh no, fingers crossed he is OK Helen, let us all know how it goes. Thank goodness he had the sense to go to hospital, if he is anything like my OH he hates doctors! Either that or the pain must have been really bad.

And yeah, I can imagine my Mums reaction too!
