Evening all
Muffinman, it sounds like you are having a really hard time. As Helen says is there anyone else that can help you cope with your son? It sounds really unfair that you are dealing with this on your own. As for friends I am kind of in the same boat, I care for my son and all my friends have dwindled away - mainly because they live such different lives to me and its hard to maintain friendships when you have no money and very little time to yourself. If nothing else I hope it makes you feel better posting on here, it certainly helps me.
Cat - dont cancel Friday. Make yourself do it girl, you deserve it.
So my day today, well finances are dire. I had to get some car repairs done which I really could have done without. Need a haircut but cant afford it, and its not even cold enough to wear a woolly hat! I have got DS1s birthday next week too. He doesnt want to celebrate it really but I feel like he should have a treat, its just going to have to be a very frugal one!
Oh and lovely hubby cooked himself a sausage sandwich for breakfast. I was a bit annoyed because I wanted those sausages for tea one night. He never goes out and never spends money on himself so it seems a bit mean to get annoyed about him having sausages for breakfast for once!! I think I am getting a bit obsessed about money at the moment.
Right off to sort out the kitchen and dish up some apple pie. Keep going messies!0 -
I managed to put the washing machine on again and the washing is just about to go in the dryer-but i have an upset stomach atm
so instead of going out for a meal as planned, I've just had some toast and we're going to watch a dvd instead. Great for the money saving though!

I'm not quite brave enough to post pics of the whole rooms, but I'm taking before and after pics of each area I'm going to tackle
The main area I want to tackle is one corner (well, it's actually a quarter) or the living room, the sight of it constantly annoys me... it's the corner by OH's chair so I'm blaming him for the mess, although there are a few of my things there as well..
There is quite a few dvds/games piled up in the corner which there is no room for on the shelves and OH has refused to part with any so I've decided he can pick out all the rubbish ones he wont watch any time soon and I'll put them away in a box in the laundry cupboard. There's also a bag full of clean underwear which needs to be put away, my overnight bag which I haven't yet unpacked since I last went away and various other bits and bobs..
In order to get the above tidy I will need to sort out the laundry cupboard which is my largest bit of storage space..
It's home to various boxes from electrical items, a couple of boxes of books and cds, a few handbags and quite a lot of old clothes which managed to surive previous clear outs despite being far too small for me nowI need to make some room in there for some of OH's DVDs and other bits and bobs. This is my next task...
I have started off with a smallish job to ease me into it, tidying up by messy and dirty cupboard under the sink.. the pictures don't look like much of an improvement but there is a whole clear bit of space I can now use for something where my cat is sitting

Evening all! Welcome FP, and ((HUGS)) to Muffin.
Please folks, don`t feel you need to apologise here for having a good moan (especially when there`s such good reason to moan!) it`s therapeutic and there are others here who identify with a lot of the things that get moaned about here! Muffin, and others who don`t get any support from other members of the household - I know my lot isn`t anywhere as bad as yours (and is probably partly my own fault for allowing myself to be put upon) but I SO know what it means to feel desperate sometimes when others don`t pull their weight and you find yourself pulling the whole overladen cart to keep things going! AND when you start trying to tell someone nicely that you need them to do stuff it`s called "starting an argument"!!
Well done all you Messies who`ve been busy today. (I`m sticking on this page for now - just a quick post to keep up, before picking OH up at 8.)
I have done stuff today too. When I eventually got up around noon!
Picked up doggy-do`s from paved area (now clear access to log-shelter & coal store)
Went shopping (necessities only, a quick strike!)
Spent AGES doing a MEGA Shepherd`s Pie, sorted all bits of veg to use in it, peeled, chopped, sauteed, and it`s 5-plus-a-day and a load of lean mince, peeled a mountain of spuds, mashed and all in oven on low festering nicely for later.
OH`s got an early finish tomorrow so we`re hopefully having an early evening at the pub. Real Ale, then an early night. Yes, I like that idea!0 -
Hello Messies
I have been the ultimate domestic goddessI got up before 7am today and I cleaned up, folded laundry, hoovered and did loads of other little things before heading off for a day of work. I was so impressed with myself!
My OH was also so impressed that he had continue my good work and I came home from a late night at work to a tidy living room and a hot cooked meal.
Now I am going to sit and crochet the evening away.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Kitty, I'm sure it'll be fine with your new friend - try not to be nervous, she's come to see you, not the house. Saying that I know what you mean and always clean/tidy/put away frantically before anyone I don't know very well comes

plus i have my yankee candle collection on same dresser, which means loadsa burnt coloured wax in diffrent food bags (i reuse them to make new candles) and random jars and tea lights sprinkles all over the place .... the odd bill/letter and a couple of purfume bottles and kids toys chucked on there too lol(balancing for dear life may i add, the whole lots gonna come tumbling down one day)

FelinePrincess - Hello! I'm new too. We can start this mountain together...
Your cupboard transformations are inspiring!
Today I have been to work, had dinner with my mother out, and have been so productive since I've been home. 2 loads of washing, half is drying as I type. Cleaned the kitchen. Packed up some items I've sold online for the post office tomorrow. And I've bagged up some items for the charity collection at work for Thursday... and still going (at a slower pace).
Hope everyone has had a good day. xo0
