afternoon all - as usual, not long up! Had to take DS to the doctor this morning, his asthma isn't good, he's wheezing a lot but his oxygen levels are fine and there's no infection, so it's just a case of ploughing on with the steroid tablets, hate it when it's like this, it can drag on for weeks getting no better or worse.

Muffin, I wasn't really ahead of you at all because you did other stuff like washing and dishes which I didn't get done, all I did was 3x15 minute stints of sorting! Agree that you deserve a duvet, heck you deserve medals for bringing up all those children and all you have to cope with! I need a duvet too, currently using a single one because gave DD2 my double one for her bed, not urgent though because I'm not likely to be sharing with anyone anytime!:o

mumof2 glad you were able to offload your troubles on good friends and have a good cry, it does help! I guess you don't need me to tell you though, if you feel depression creeping back, it's best to do something about it sooner rather than later:)

YL really glad the weekend went well, now it's over and you enjoyed it you'll know you don't need to worry so much next time! x

Welcome hollieinbloom, good to have you here! I too had to clear a shelf in a hall cupboard to accommodate my new fad of buying tinned tomatoes:D

Helen - you go girl with that ironing! I was trying to remember the last time I did a proper load of ironing, ie more than a couple of items at a time, and it was nearly 2 years ago! Had Argos vouchers for Xmas and bought a steam generator, I ironed for 3 hours and was so hot I had the windows flung wide open even though there was a blizzard outside, people must have thought I was crazy!

Well done everyone on all your achievements and home improvements!:T:T

Really foggy here today so a day for staying in, just waiting on a call from my CPN (does anyone else find it hard to get on with anything when they're waiting for a call?) then dinner, dishes, the hall, and a bit more of my bedroom hopefully!!

    Take care

    Cat xx
  • its so cold here :/ brrr ... i may go and check how much gas i have (seriously broke this week, need to use as litle gas and leccy as i can) and put the heating on , i have to leave my block of flats and go round the side of the building to the car park, thats where the gas box is :/ actually i have a rubbish bag to take out too, so ca kill 2 birds with one stone :)

if i could just find that stupid draft excluder for the front door then that would keep most of the cold out , heres big gaps under my front door and my porch door .... which is also straight inline with ds door .... anyways enough whining about the cold .... is only gonna get worse as winter goes on lol

not done much today, tidied up a few things (not that you can notice ) and did a few dishes, did a load of washing (still in machine) and tidied up the bathroom

ugh ... i guess ill just see what i do tonight when ds is in bed

    xx

p.s - i have checked but ive probably missed some , but my t and n buttons arent working properly lol :) so sorry if you notice missing letters

Cat - hope DS gets better soon, my DD suffered Asthma but has now grown out of it, well we hope she has, this will be her first winter without her inhalers!! She suffers from Winter Asthma - gets chest infections which bring on Asthma but only in the Winter!! I'm keeping a close eye on her as I also decided not to give her the Flu Jab - both kiddies had Swine Flu in 2009, DS was very poorly but since then they have had no illnesses so hopefully their immune systems are up and running. I can't settle to anything when I'm waiting for a call or visit either - very annoying habit

I need to pick your brains - horrible expression

I have a conservatory which gets filled with [STRIKE]cra[/STRIKE] er rubbish :D It's quite big - around 7m x 3m we have a large pine table at one end and 2 easy chairs at the other. It gets cold in winter and warm in summer and so doesn't get used a lot. Attached to it is a tiny utility room (literally WM, Freezer, with TD on a unit over these and the boiler next to it, no room for anything else.

THe conservatory roof has a large hole where the plastic panel has detached from the house. THe whole thing is over 15 years old.

I originally wanted to knock down the wall between conservatory and utility to make utility bigger but i think that's too big a job. The conservatory roof could be mended but i think the time has come for a refurb, so it looks like we may glaze it instead. THis will improve the temperature to make it usable all year round. But i need suggestions as to how to deal with gardening stuff, caravan stuff, walking boots, cagoules etc that should live in utility but have to live in conservatory. Phew! that took some typing - anyone have any suggestions?
I wanna be in the room where it happens

urgh, just made spag bol with the most watery tinned plum tomatoes I've ever used, East End from Mr T:( - not impressed at all! Couldn't find the ketchup so had to use quite a lot of muscovado to sweeten them too. It's ended up nice although I haven't had the verdict from the DKs yet. Hopefully they haven't noticed the sneaky celery in there:D

DD2 has just tidied her bedroom and brought me a present of 5 glasses and 4 plates to be washed, just when I thought I was nearly finished:(

Mmmm pumpkin seed bread, that does sound nice:)

It really is lovely, I like it sliced very thin (I have an electric slicer thingy that does the job - not OS but necessary for my HM bread!) with some low fat soft cheese and beetroot or coleslaw for work lunches. I would be lost without the breadmaker, so again not OS and I can't take credit really :D

I'd stepped on a sachet of tomato ketchup (it really did go "crack"!) and squirted sauce all over my birth certificate:o:o:o

I thought it was just me who did things like that :p

Hope all messies are having a good evening, hugs and squeezes all round.

pfft - a washout of a day, no achievements apart from cooking, and a row with DD1 to finish things off (pointing out her mess and failure to help much is "starting a row" and end of conversation - we can only talk about things if they suit her). Starting to think might have to cancel party on Friday as I just can't get it done by myself.....so tired and lethargic....night all, hope you've had a better day - sorry for the whinge!! xx
  • Hiya Messies!
I read a bit here while waking up with coffee & fag before work - WELCOME to our New Friends. Don`t have the mental or manual co-ordination to keep 2 windows open at once tonight, to respond properly but will catch up soon. I`m not very coherent now, still winding down (just done FOUR 13 & a half-hour shifts in 5 days, really busy but enjoyed most of it. I MUST be BARKING!!!) Am now somewhere well beyond tired...4 days off to recover though - nice.
Up at 6 this am, car was WHITE all over! Lucky have good heater in it, no scraping just ran engine 5 mins before setting off. Got home 9.15, lit fire first even though DS had put the heating on, I like a nice fire in the hearth, did OH a boil-in-bag lambshank (Iceland) & steamed fresh cauli. Not OS but EASY - He hit the sack after as up at 6 for work. I`m just too WELLIED to digest (or even CHEW) yet....now trying to decide what I fancy..thinking dry wholemeal toast with squished cauli & cheese under grill & a bit of bacon...hmm, that`s sounding like a good plan.
Had a couple of glasses of wine while OH tucking in to supper, and sat on floor fussing my old daftie-dog, just realised she`s really quite stinky and now my trousers are too, but we both enjoyed it, just trying to focus on HOME instead of Work. And I don`t find old-doggie-niff as bad as some niffs. Am now aware I`m rambling, AND, finally I`m hungry!
Happily (almost miraculously!) the place is no worse than when I last gave it a little attention, no major new Messiness, DS hasn`t trashed the kitchen, so tomorrow with OH at work it`ll be my Slob-out morning ...a long lie-in then prioritise to get LR cosy & supper sorted before picking OH up from work 8pm.
God Bless all, and God help anyone who wakes me before 11am!
    Emmxx
