Know what you mean CP, well, not about how relationships are better minus the internet, but you do get other things done, like reading! When I didn't have the net and my Sky wasn't working I just read and read and read! (would have done better to iron and iron and iron!)

WB Rummer:) Glad you are making such good progress with LR.

Well, sorted out the clothes on my bedroom floor into piles. Doesn't look much better though, but I think there's always a stage like that when things are really out of hand, then suddenly you see the light ....or the floor! Haven't touched the washing basket, or the ironing basket which has sat in the hall untouched for 3 months:o

Iv got a pile of washing again, flippen clothes breeding again. Dishes piled up by the sink and other mess needing to be cleared. Ill finish my coffee and then make a start otherwise it will be still there in the morning.
Ds gone bowling and then onto a party, his social life is better than anyone else in our house.

Iv just got some touching up to do in the front livingroom and then start staining the floor before varnishing. Iv suprised myself on my diy skills.

Helen well done ironing . Ironing is rare in my house as the tumble drier makes the creases fall out, or,thats what I tell myself.

Iv only got one good friend now as when I stopped working my social life more or less went with it. I dont mind though as I like my own company. Its nice to speak with other people on here though.

Kitty our cats are all dealing with the fireworks in different ways. One of them still went out in the back watching the displays. The other three have stayed in.
    I hate fireworks.

    Take care all.

i think i will do my room a bit at a time and at end of day my reward will be to snuggle under nice warm quilt and read mse

    Morning Messies :D

I have been the ultimate washer woman this weekend and I now have less than a load of washing left to deal with :j. I also cleared out a giant Ikea bag and bin bag full of DDs toys to the charity shop so it is much tidier looking upstairs.

There are lots of pairs of shoes that I know deep down that I will never wear again but I just can't bear to part with them as they are beautiful. Do you think it it wrong to keep them?

A lot of the things that I would like to do to the house now to make it nicer involve oodles of pennies that I simply don't have. Do any of you have a home fund to save up for improvements?

Hello messies and skweeezes to those who needsez - I've had a bit of a messy revolution here at cloudy towers and am currently cleaning the main bedroom

I've had to empty the hoover once already (although to be fair it is a compact, and I have boldly gone behind furniture where [almost] no one has gone before). The clumps of dust are now swirling in my hoover canister like the bunnies in Curse of the Were Rabbit!

My orchids are blooming away on the bedroom windowsill, totally neglected and covered in dust, but insistently beautiful through it all. They are going to be buffed up and dust free now to be displayed in all their glory.

I can't believe how they keep on flowering - one I bought for a fiver in June 2010, flowered continuously for a year, then promptly threw up two more enormous flower stalks which will be flowering any day now. I water them once a week and feed them once a month (but often forget).

Anyway back to the de-messying - I've been depressed about my bedroom for a while, it's been so dusty. I change the bed every week as I like clean sheets, but I hate dusting and just tend not to do it upstairs! I didn't think I'd have the energy to do it today but from nowhere the need for clean has gripped me and I was off upstairs with the hoover like a rat up a drainpipe. Carpe diem and all that - just stopped for a coffee, hence this update, and I'll be back up there in a minute.

In other news this morning I have done two loads of washing, cleaned out the cat tray _pale_ (she has this because she doesn't go out during the week in winter) hoovered a bit half-heartedly downstairs (must tackle that mess soon) emptied the kitchen bin put the recycling out, sliced my HM pumpkin seed bread ready for the week and done the washing up. Whew!

Okay, so that's Mrs Blitzit instead of baby steps, I know it's not the best way, but at least some stuff is getting done this week :j

Hope all my fellow messies have a great Sunday whatever you're doing, will be back in a bit to read the thread properly and catch up on all your news.

What've I done today...not much! Did the washing up, and apparently a clothes wash has just finished (argh I hate hanging wet clothes up). Had the worst headache I've ever had this morning, I think it was dehydration so been drinking lots. Mum's coming over for me to give her an overview of Sage accounts, and I've been using a free copy of microsoft money to sort my spending out. It's really good, feel like I'm now accountable to something (even if it is just a computer program!).

Went into town today, resisted spending in Waterstones, but did buy a flask and some very small snack tubs for when I'm off this diet. I've decided to keep all of my lunch and snack bits at work, because OH will eat them all if I don't (this has been the cause of a great deal of consternation between us in the past). Oh and also bought one of those long handled duster things for 99p, because I keep looking up and seeing tonnes of cobwebs on the ceiling! Did the kitchen but still got to do the hallway, which I'm absolutely dreading.

Have a lovely afternoon everyone :)
