    Happy birthday Cat!

Laurel I absolutely understand how you feel being useless at interviews when desperate - I have always been the same. I was lucky to get my current job without much in the way of interviews because I worked as supply for ages before being offered a permanent job. I always feel the other candidates are much better than me and then make them look much better by being too nervous!

I wish you the very best for Monday, come on, break that jinx!

I've only skimmed along the thread for the last few days really so apologies for not reading thoroughly and I hope everyone feeling down/poorly will have a great weekend.

I've been a bit self indulgent this week, eating very norty (but MSE) food and generally not doing much in the way of de-messying. Ah well. I have a feeling this weekend might be the same! I will make lots of bread for the coming week though, it's working out very cheap for work lunches by taking a few slices of HM bread to throw in the toaster at work, with some value coleslaw and eat smart brussels pate.

    Happy birthday Cat.

Not done much again today. Feeling a bit washed out with spot and sore on lip appearing. Iv had a lay down and now feel a bit more with it.

Iv made a beef cass for Saturday tea so OH will only have to heat it up.

Laurel just imagine that your going to talk about a subject that your an expert in and that those your going to see are the there to learn. I used to use this and found it helpfull.
  • Laurel - lots of good luck

Snookey - hope you feel better after a good nights sleep

JPS - well done on the Bread Making

Today has been another one of those days. DS woke me up at 4.45 complaining of tummy ache, he ended up staying home and he slept in till 9.50 [unheard of as he's normally up early] I had to clear the landing of a cupboard, 2 sets of ladders and 2 hoovers and a rug so that the boiler man could get to the boiler to service it, DH was on a day off. We waited for the call from the boiler man to say he was on his way and at 12 I realised I'd got the wrong day!! Duhhhh!!!! Back everything goes and then next Friday I'll have to move it all again!! I comforted my self by going to Hobbycraft and buying a Xmas pressie for DD and a big bag of beanbag balls to refill DS's beanbag - guess whats all over the LR floor. So I then consoled myself with a visit to Dunelm, bought material to make new cushion covers, I think I'll wait till next week before I cut out the material as I'm so jinxed at the moment I'd probably cut it all wrong.

Tomorrow DD and DS will be at their Dads, DH and I are going for a nosey at a Craft Fair [DH is a good artist and we want to see if there is any market for his paintings] then we have to go to the Lottie to lift the Beetroot to pickle it, hopefully the cooker part will come, it will be the right part and DH will put it in. I'm not driving if I can help it - I'd like a jinx free day

Have a nice sleep one and all

    Helen x

  • Hi everyone

Happy birthday for yesterday Cat!! Hope you had a good time last night.

I laughed at that Helen because I did the same when the chimney sweep was coming. Started moving/covering things then realised I was a week early!

Good luck with the interview Laurel, remember you are there to ask them about the job too - its a two way process. You need to remember that you are just as good as anyone else and there is no reason why you cant do this!

Hope those feeling under the weather are OK this morning. We had a bit of an upset last night when DS came home and told me that two kids had been teasing him and calling him names because of his illness. I could have gone round there and thumped the little *****! First time it has ever happened and he was so upset bless him. Dont know whether I speak to the parents and get them to talk to their sons or just let it blow over. My worry is that he wont go out again. Life is hard enough for him at the moment without this.

Oh well better see if anyone else is awake. Need to mop the kitchen floor this morning and have a bit of a hoover. Its grey and damp outside - again.

Hi all. So far today I've emptied tumble dryer and folded clothes up and refilled it with towels. Got to put the washing machine on...several times-looking at the wash basket...
Good luck with your interview Laurel. :)

Cat did you have a nice day?

I have been getting on with jobs today :D. House looks comfortably lived in now instead of shockingly messy!

  • Well the sun has come out here so I am washing like mad. Just stripped my eldest sons bed and removed: 2 fleece throws, 13 cuddly toys, an ipod and headphones, 2 cushions, 3 pillows, a torch, a hot water bottle, a book and a notepad and pen. Its a wonder he has any room to get in there! It did make me smile though.
