Emm - well done and thanks for the advice, I alternated between running the cold water and sticking my finger in that and opening the freezer and sticking my finger on the huge build up of ice in the first drawer [anaother reason not to defrost the freezer] I'm lucky cos today there is a white mark/small blister but no pain so thats good!!

DH roared with laughter when I told him of the events - he's always saying that he shouldn't do a late shift cos something always goes wrong then. Honestly, I was a single Mum for 6 years, he comes along, we get married and I can't do the most simplest of jobs without there being some big c*ck up!!!!

    Todays plans
    Go to shop
    Go to Lottie
Book tickets for Brandan Cole Tour
Have food - I'm mega starving!
    Tidy up

Thanks for all the messages peeps - you're all lovely x

Have a good day everyone and baby steps is defo the way to go

    Helen x

Helen I'm glad your burn is better:)

Wow Emm, your house sounds like a real treasure trove! Must have been very satisfying finding all that useful stuff AND demessying at the same time!

Nothing much to report today but got a big pot of vegetable soup on the go. Always avoided doing it as much as possible before as I HATE preparing swede, seems like you need a machete to chop it and I ended up wanting to throw the damn thing out the window! Until I saw someone on here say that popping it in the microwave for a few minutes makes it SO much easier...so simple, why didn't I think of that before???:o

Tomorrow I have to go for another DWA Work Capability Assessment with the "lovely" people at ATOS, failed my last one as nearly everyone does but won my tribunal, know I will fail this one too so the merry go round will start again, money will be put down whilst awaiting the appeal so I'll have to try extra hard to be MSE!!:(

OMG ... why didnt I know that about the swede?! Am going to try it tonight :T

I am on ESA and passed the WCA with only my application form and supporting letter from doctor. Have you researched what you should and shouldnt say? PM me if you need any help. They will trip you up in every way possible if they can!

Thank you kit! :):)Oh I know what they're like, learnt the hard way last year! When I got my full ATOS report back with my appeal papers I thought I was reading about a different person, some of it was just outright lies and directly contradicted what I'd told the doctor. And he seemed so nice - how naive was I??? One small example - he asked if I had a history of self harm, I said yes and showed him the proof. When his report came back he stated "no history of self harm"!! There were 6 or 7 other examples which were just as blatant. It almost makes you feel like it doesn't matter what you say, they'll write down what they want regardless!

Anyway I did my appeal letter myself (Welfare rights Officer said it was a really good one), but I got a him to come to the tribunal with me, he was excellent and I'll definitely be going back to him. I was a sobbing wreck even with him there so goodness knows what I'd have been like alone! I know it's almost vital to have representation at tribunal. Also got another letter from my CPN but I don't think they'll take much notice of that:(

There are many many people far worse off than me though, as I found out through reading the ABCofESA and Benefits&Work forums!:(

Thanks so much again for offering to help!! x

The Swede - it really made such a difference! I pierced it a few times before putting it in, don't know if that was necessary though:)

    Thank you Helen! xx

Oh well a couple of things have given me a much needed giggle today....

    1. An email from the "FBI" saying that if I don't contact them immediately they will "arrest me for my own good"....might not be such a bad idea...:rotfl:

    2. A recipe which claimed to be a "good way of using up leftover after-dinner chocolate mints" What on earth are leftover after dinner chocolate mints???:rotfl:

Going to have another shot at getting rid of a bag of bumph from my bedroom tonight if I can drag myself away from here. Hope everyone having a good day :) x

Least you're not trying to sell yours! I've got a 21 yr old son who acts 13, with his messy puppy who's chewed half my woodwork to bits and wrecked all the back garden, ripped out every flower and half the fencing. Get up every am to mud and worse all over the conservatory, yard and kitchen floor as my every loving jobless son is up all night with his mates and dog in the garden smokin and on his stupid game box.
Upstairs we've got flat pack furniture that is constantly trying to revert back to being flat pack...
Hall, stairs & landing carpet new before dog arrived now full of impossible to shift dog pee stains.
No-where to put anything and he's just walked in with a set of bodybuilding weights he's acquired to add to all his other crap...
I could go on but the pub beckons...
...See there is always someone worse off!...

Thanks jps! x Hope you feel better tomorrow, and enjoy eating too much, that's what food is for! :) x

Have fun at the pub paulsad, sounds good to me!

Support needed - in general I'm not a hoarder, just a messy mare, but I do hoard books, and my old recipe magazines even though they rarely get used. Now, nobody is going to make me get rid of my beloved books, but I've just grabbed a pile of magazines from the bedroom intending to cut out the best recipes. Then I thought - I have quite a few recipe books and there are thousands of recipes on here, so I might as well just put the lot in for recycling! But it's proving more of a wrench than expected.....

edit to say, done! Best just to bite the bullet and get on with it....I'll miss flicking through them in bed but now I might get round to reading some of my hundreds of books I haven't read yet!

Well done:T I did the same a few months ago when I realised that when I wanted a recipe the first thing I did was google it, I never looked at the mags anymore. I stopped buying them too, all that money:eek: Just today hubby did the same with his Guitarist & Total Guitar mags.
