My home is a mess

Do you know what, despite mess and chaos, I'm chilled. OK, so house looks like a bomb site but my children are happy and well fed, got clean clothes to wear and, in the big scheme of things, a messy house isn't the worst thing ever. At least that's what I'm telling myself
love this .... this is how im feeling ... weve got plenty of clean clothes (even if they are in massive piles all over the place) my ds is happy (hes reading the mothercare toy catalogue and saying what he wants for xmas) ... the only thing im really starting to stress about now is the kitchen, got a lot of dishes to do ... its probably not as many as it looks but there is quite a lot

I'm back! I now work six days a week, but boss insisted I take a few days off this week as I was looking tired. So instead of relaxing, today I've made hobnobs, chocolate chip cookies, a huge pan of lasagne, a huge pan of meat sauce, and entertained my sister and niece. Tomorrow is set to be house blitz day! Oh and I defrosted the fridge freezer, so now i can actually fit all my batch cooking in there without it sliding back out again!
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -
Hello, I don't come here very often but it's half term, and I'm off work, which means time to catch up with the cleaning etc. Today was clean the bedrooms day. The boys have to clean their rooms which means drawers, cupboards, floors etc. They manage to a degree, I usually help but I had a massive pile of ironing to do. They managed to fill a black bag with rubbish and fill the laundry basket twice! but the rooms do look better so a good result.
Managed to get the ironing done and have nearly got it all put away. Phew
Well done everyone whatever you have accomplished today, hugs to the poorly ones.

GGRRRR. Just typed a post & lost it all. Hurrumph!
Hi all. Just done 2 x 13-hour shifts, good ones, am knackered, & winding down now by reading here and consulting wine-box..(which may account for lost post...?) and any following typos or ommissions.
Helen, KSH, and anyone else with the snotties - Bless you, hugs - but IRONING would really be my LAST choice for taking steam!
Well Done, all you who have been doing Stuff...AND, EQUALLY, Well Done those who gave theirselves a Day Off, I`m having one tomorrow! Needed & Deserved, we who do the Stuff decide what Stuff we do! And commiserations to the folks who DID Stuff and feel they are back to square one again...
Aligerdie and Gailey - your posts really touched a nerve here with me tonight. " it`s all left to me again", & " piles of stuff on the stairs". That`s me, too! And my heart really goes out to you 2 re your house inspections...although I`m the home-owner here with no landlord to answer to, it`s generally all left to me, and I would DREAD to think if this place ever had to be inspected, (as well it MAY, if I drop in a heap one day and some hospital OT has to assess if it`d be safe for me to come home to!) I`ve no babies here, only 2 severely un-domesticated menfolk (OH who tries, DS who doesn`t) & there`s DGD(12) here part-time - my darling messy mare is at other Gran`s now, maybe back tomorrow I hope.
Colleen Pam, really nice to hear from you again, & all other new or returned MIA Messies, mutual support here is SO helpful.0 -
Need to share this with you Messies - I was up at 5.50am.I`m still calling it Tuesday here. (Bladder - could have slept till alarm at ten past 6 but NO. Bad start.) Got up, OH having a fair-do`s `day-off, lie-in as doing Nightshift, first of 3 tonight, leaves house 7.30pm for 8, I don`t get home till after 9. Took daft old dog out, made OH`s snappins, & left a not for him where & what it was, but left last nights` supper pots - we ate at 11pm after my long shift, roast lamb dinner leftovers - but at least all rinsed/stacked in sink.
Manic but quite good satisfying day at work. Nearing the end of the shift, I went on my last break, & returned to hear there`d been a message for me...OH had called. Ward Sister, trying v.hard to keep straight face, told me OH had phoned to let me know that Daftie-dog had done an Oopsie indoors. That he had `dealt with it` and rolled up the rug whereon it happened ...and left it beside the settee. My esteemed colleagues found this hilarious. Sister did too, but did her best not to show it.
Thank God it wasn`t a sloppy one. OH would have said, would have reported this to Sister if it was...I am ignoring the sinkfull of pots AND the rolled up mat till tomorrow, nothing smells bad here, so I will deal with it in my own sweet time AFTER a lie in. Daftie old dog no more farty than usual, not any different when I took her out when I got home after work, so presume/hope it`s just a one-off taken short. Poor old thing didn`t even look shifty when I got home.
Now about to eat,(supper/breakfast??) finally being sufficiently `wound down` - HM hash-browns from leftover mustard mash, egg & bacon. DS also partaking. Tomorrow is another day - already today for folks on night shift. Goodnight all! x0
