    **Grump Alert**

    Hello Messies

I am totally disheartened today :(. The car thing threw me yesterday and I have spent the last 24 hours trying to deal with that. I have also not been keeping on top of the housework and it now feels overwhelming. Realistically I know that it will only take an hour/hour and a half tops but I just don't want to!

    **Grump Over**

On a happy note however I have just hoovered the living room while eating a gingerbread man :) I am so clever cleaning my mess as I eat!

  • This is what I always think too and this thread has made me feel so much better. Most of my friends seem to have perfect houses too which doesnt help.

Going to tackle the cupboard in our bedroom today, need to be ruthless - every time I open the door there's an avalanche. Then maybe I can get some things off the floor and back where they belong.

    Have a good day everyone.

YORKSHIRELASS i could manage a cupboard avalanche, but everytime i try to walk in my room there is one big avalanche and no matter how many times itry i can never get it to stop if you survive yours let me know your secret aside from chucking stuff out i give up before i get going these days kids don't seem to understand, i used to have it really organised well my version of organised anyhow and i could find almost everything i was asked for within 5 mins as long as no one touched my system:) now i have to hunt for the coffee and teabags:mad: unless i keep mine hidden its so bad i'm even thinking of keeping all my food stuff (including frozen) in my room once its tidy mmm another good reason to get it done i only keep milk marg and cheese in fridge so that should be ok if not iwill freeze it in usable amounts whatsthat saying if you cant beat em oin em or sumat like that

hope you managed toget it sorted

  • Hi All,

Hope you are all doing ok and getting to grips with your messyness. I shouldn't really be on here as I've been trying to get things in order as I have a friend and her 2 wee ones coming round tomorrow morning. 1. They have never been to my house before....first impressions and all that. 2. her house house is lovely and clean and organised (but homely with it). I think I'll be up till at least 1am and then up at 7am to get organised for them coming at 10.30. DH has cleaned the Kitchen floor while I went for the shopping so that was a wee help. Also DD did well at tidying her toys away, she did get her sticker (end goal reward a goldfish)

I better it takes about 5 mins tomorrow for the kids to trash the place.

Must go, chat again soon. I do love this thread...makes me glad I'm not the only person with a messy house (although if you asked my mum I think she wouldn't say that!)
I love MSE freebies and comps. Thanks posters

    Hi all.
Managed to clear out all the kitchen cupboards yesterday, cleaned them and put everything back in neatly so I can actually see what I have. Also finished the last of the decorating in the kitchen so its usable again (few bits and pieces still need doing but only things like painting shelves which can wait for now).
Had to go to a therapy session last night so not in the best of moods today. Really need to get some stuff done but its going to be hard work to get motivated.

    Hello ladies

Without jinxing myself any further it looks like AOHell have managed to pull their socks up and magically sort out my internet problems - amazing what affect "I'm leaving you" has on a company!!! A whole week with no comp up and running properly has been torture!!! Trouble is I have an engineer due round tomorrow [free visit cos AOHell couldn't suss the prob although I could!!!] do I cancel visit and hope connection continues or do I wait till tomorrow???? I know there was no fault this end, I know the fault was their end, I know they have sorted it out now but do I tempt fate?

    Anyhoo

Lovely to see returners back and all the new people joining us in our pits of doom, my house is disgusting and that is no lie. There is carp EVERYWHERE, but . . . . . . I don't care cos I'll get round to it when I can - Kitchen will be done today, rest will be started tomorrow

Had to go to DS's school for Parent Consultation - WOW, he wants to be a Doctor and has always wanted that [he's nearly 9] and if he continues with his work as he has been doing he be a bloody brain surgeon - can you tell I'm very proud of him lol. DD's consultation is tomorrow - expecting good results there too - so housework or spending time with kids - no brainer!!

It doesn't matter how you live as long as you are happy, so what if the pots stay in the sink, so what if the fluff doesn't go up the hoover, having a happy family is what matters and we are very happy!!!

Rummer - cheap, good car vibes being sent

Snookey - wise words about about the lovely people on here

    Have a lovely day everyone

I looked out the kitchen window this morning and saw next-door-but-one's daughter walking to school having a KitKat for breakfast. Her house is so lovely-it's a relief she also has days like that...

Anyway, I went to do my at-the-moment-usual run to the tip this morning-and found dd hadn't closed the car door fully last night when she loaded the branches. Dead battery. So it was a taxi to work, and I'm now waiting for the RAC to show up and get it started. I will then have to drive around the ring road for half an hour with a car full of dead tree.

Oh yes, and my new debit card *still* hasn't turned up, and I have about £3.50 in cash to last until it does.

And some important paperwork is missing at work. I handled it this morning, and I think I put it back on the teacher's desk. She thinks she picked it up and looked at it and put it back, but we've both been searching all afternoon and neither of us are sure any more.

I think a rather large mug of tea is called for...
