Hi, just joining in here.
I know I've moaned about housework in the past and I really do hate doing it and resent it like mad, but part of the reason is I feel I am rubbish at it as I can't keep up it. If I can most days get through the clothes washing and the washing-up then I think I'm doing well. But what about the rest of it? I work nearly full time, but in shifts so do have the odd couple of hours during the day here and there through the week but it is not long enough to get anything major done. Come the weekend and I am too exhausted and with teenagers about too it's like being on a tread mill keeping up with feeding everyone and doing the washing mentioned above. The house is permanently dusty and I never get the chance nor have the energy to keep the whole place looking good at any one time. I try and keep tidy as best as I can as that helps a bit but that means constantly picking up things. I really don't know how we're expected to do so much and still be sane, I feel worn out. If I could afford a cleaner I would but I can't. I hope I am not the only one because this really does get me down and I have just spent this weekend trying to do what jobs I can but overall the place is not much different. I feel guilty when I try and chill and watch tv or read and resent it like hell when I have to spend time trying to keep up with something I can't seem to keep up with.If it stayed looking good for any length of time it would be something but even when I do get anything major done it soon starts to look a mess again. Sorry to moan but I am fed-up with it and the expectations that are put upon us to do everything. I know I am not practical, which doesn't help and yes I would rather be sat at a computer than cleaning (as I am now) but to keep up with the house/cleaning feels like climbing a mountain and I know I have started to let things go and I don't feel good about it but then resent feeling guilty for it. Can't win.

Can't say anything to help McFilly but can send you {{{{hugs}}}}
I am exactly the same so I really do know what you feel like. xx2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
McFilly me too. At the moment my hormones are crazy (it's that time of life) and I have had a very low weekend - the sunny weather just made me feel worse for not having the energy to do anything. I needed it to be stormy and rainy, so I would have a good excuse for skulking indoors! You're not alone - this thread always makes me feel normal and less fazed by my mess.
Hope everyone is having a better weekend than me, and sorry to be on a downer!

McFilly, you just described how I feel, spot on! OK, sitting at the computer doesn`t clean the house, but reading a post like yours and the folks who say `me too!` DOES help to make us realise that we are not alone, in fact, we are LEGION! It helps.0

Good Evening
I have been on a fitness kick the last few days and as a result have been crumpling into bed in the early evenings :rotfl:. The house is not looking its shiny best at the moment but I am going to spend a couple of hours between tonight and tomorrow trying to get it back on track.
My animals however are working against me :mad: as well as my cat dragging in dead things the rabbits are making lots of mess which is turning into a constant battle at the moment. Oh and there is always my beloved leaving things everywhere!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Hugs everyone. Iv been busy today cleaning, livingroom cleaned,kitchen cleaned and our bedroom cleaned.
The leak is back in the kitchen from dd room. Bloody pipes, the nice new painted ceiling and wall are stained by the water. Oh was unwell today so with a bit of luck he may be up to fixing it Monday. Ill have to repaint.
Im going to bed soon as Iv lots to do in the morning. Iv got to visit the gym to pay our fees and get some shopping. Will be on a diet from Monday, aiming to lose at least a stone before the end of November as its my nieces 18th. Dont want to be waddling in,lol.0 -
So sorry I've been missing so much - had lot of 'stuff' going on.
Do you know I'm sat here and looking around and I can honestly say I don't think I know where to start. Everywhere is messy. My husband, daughter and even my 4 year old son hoard. If I get rid of anything they go mad (well my husband does, the kids get annoyed but I distract them). They even go through bins. What can I do?
Just feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I'm tired of looking for things for people and not being able to find them because of all the clutter everywhere. As far as I'm concerned everything should have an 'away place' and if it hasn't been used for a couple of years it should be slung out. Am I weird?
Sorry, feeling a bit out of my depth. Spent ages looking for DD's library card - I always look after it, she wanted it, swore she'd take care of it and, guess what, lost it. Luckily I found it but it was a fluke.
*Sigh* - off to make the beds, sort the washing, vacuum, iron blah blah blah ......Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
