Helen, you've done loads again - how do you do it?

Kitty, see you've done 2 things - slow and steady wins the race! Just do a little bit as you can; that's what I do and quite often once you've done it you think 'well I could just do this' and before you know it a few more jobs are out of the way. :)

Just got back from a lovely meal - had Greek and we all chose 3 little dishes each and shared with the person next to it. Yummy!!!!

Right, cup of tea time methinks. Got to give in and have paracetamol as head bad and will get worse soon when both my babies are home!

Hi all. Well I had a very lazy weekend did nothing but the essentials. House not looking too bad though as the days I put the effort in are still showing ie tidy rooms.

Not going out Tuesday apart from dd school for parents evening. Im hoping to start painting the front room. Iv decided to do this by myself as OH just annoys me with his bossing about. I know I can do a good job as I did the kitchen .
Its windy here in the north but not really cold.
Candy girl forgot to say happy birthday.
  • I went in the loft at the weekend to fetch something down and my DH asked me to look for something else while I was up there. I finished up having to use a torch and found all sorts of long lost things. The biggest surprise was a carefully wrapped package that contained two prints of our town from days gone by. It was labelled as being for DH's cousin for Christmas 2001. I vaguely remember him buying them. His cousin can have them 10 years late when we next see him!

The loft is a bit clearer now, it is a pity the same can't be said for the rest of the house though.

    Happy Birthday CandyGirl

Thank you to everyone re the job advice. I have spent most of the day updating my CV and have drafted a covering letter for a job I have seen advertised. I am going to re-read it all in the morning after some sleep jut to make sure it makes sense then will be mailing it in!! In any case, it's good that I've got the CV done, and if by any chance I got an interview it would be great practice if nothing else as I've not had one for about 7 years!

On the home front I have-

    -washed up
    -emptied DW
    -bleached sink
    -swept downstairs
    -3 x WM loads
-Ironed for a couple of hours (only have 30 items left in the ironing mound!)
    -played with DS

Plan for tomorrow is write essay plan for OU assignment and food shop.

    Evening Messies :)

(((Hugs))) to all the people who have had a rubbish time of it recently.

Well today I have been like a thing possessed :D. I got up at stupid o'clock and put on a laundry, the dishwasher, hoovered and tidied up the bathroom and the hall. Got loads of things done at work too.

When I left work I did the shopping, collected some things I had ordered then came home washed down the kitchen, cooked a ham and made soup. I am now sitting in my clean and tidy living room admiring the flowers I got today and mentally planning what I am getting people for Christmas.

Three laundries down on a few hundred others to go :rotfl::rotfl:
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
  • Blimey there has been some action on here today! Well done Kitty and others! Hj, your list made me feel tired looking at it. I have been to docs todays as apparently I have a mild kidney infection. Hopefully the penicillin will do the trick and I dont feel too bad so I have just been gently pootling about.

Weather was dry and breezing this morning so I did two loads of washing then it chucked it down. Had to resort to using the tumble dryer in the end. Then DS1 made me a pudding to make me feel better but his cleaning up skills leaving something to be desired so I had to set on and clean up after him!!! Still the thought was nice.

MummyEm, good luck with the job hunting. I keep looking at job adverts but cant really do anything until my sons health is a bit better. I have my CV ready though.

Oh and Snookey I am following you on your decorating mission. Hubby came home early today and has been "helping" me with the kitchen. This involves pointing out bits I have not quite finished. I do appreciate his help though so just keep gritting my teeth! DS1 wants his bedroom doing next but the kitchen has to be finished first.

Oh and Gilly, what a nightmare, I was stressed enough when I dropped the roller and splattered paint all over the kitchen units!!

Right onwards and upwards tomorrow. Ironing to do if nothing else!
