    Evening everyone

Have been trying to get on top of the garden/outside jobs this week so havent done much inside. As a result bits of the house are a mess again. I have discovered that its fine having a major clean and declutter but unless you keep on top of it you soon end up back where you started!

I actually dont like the heat so have been hiding inside all day. I am trying to make Saturday a day off so have just been pootling about - oh and I did some Xmas shopping online.

Hope everyone is OK, especially those suffering with lurgies.

Off to see whats on the telly, have spent far too much time on this computer today!

    Morning!

Well I had a hideous night and got much sicker however I have woken up this morning after a fitful nights sleep feeling much better. I am totally wiped out though so I am only going to do a little around the house today. There are two laundries to be done, some hoovering and everything needs dusted or wiped down.

DD is away today as is DH so I am going to do a little bit at a time with loads of breaks and naps inbetween. I seem to be falling into a dismal pattern of being ill at the weekend and spending my so called days off cleaning and feeling sick :(

I need to get into the habit of doing work during the week so that I can relax at the weekend.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
  • Rummer, taking it easy seems to be the only option for both of us! I came home early last night as I was more of a liability than an asset there in my grotty snotty state. Declared a `sickie` for today, and they had just about sorted cover for today`s absence before I left, but I still feel guilty despite feeling genuinely unfit.
I will try not to `waste` the entire day, so now trying to plan what messy-busting tasks (there`s enough to choose from!) would be sensible to tackle whilst bunged-up/streaming & aching all over.
I`m thinking STEAMY jobs would help clear chest, & vinegary jobs would maybe help clear nose too...
Any dust-raising activities are out. Any smelly chemicals too.
I shall start in the kitchen, fill the sink with hot soapy water, where it looks like every mug and teaspoon in the house has been used, and potter gently there till it looks like I`ve done something.
Then if I feel up to it, I shall vinegar-clean both loos.
I shall reward myself later with a toasted teacake and some Tropicana orange&lime juice.
At some stage I`ll think about prepping supper. Have to use some spinach (not the baby stuff, real `big` spinach - veg.man said it`d be the last this year. Gutted that I probably won`t be able to taste it!)
Hope we both feel better soon, Rummer.
Hope all you other Messies are having a decent day while we Snotties are wallowing in our depleted state!

    Hi all.
Just stumbled across this thread and thought I would ask to join .... please?!

My house is a TOTAL tip. I have bi-polar and some days can't even get my daughter to and from school let alone get housework done. During a 'well' period about 3 months ago I decided to refurbish my kitchen .... which I still havent finished. Half my loft is insulated, havent finished the other half, my lounge is kinda decorated but not quite. And even if I did have enough energy to finish them I would have to tidy first to be able to get to the walls! Every room is messy and, I shamefully add, has now got to the point of being dirty. I am so overwhelmed by it all that I don't know where to start, which gets me stressed, which makes me ill, which makes me not able to do anything!

I HAVE to do something about it. One of my daughters friends has been told she can't come round as my house is too messy :o

  • Hi Everyone

I need to fess-up, my home is a midden and I would like to join the messy thread...do you have room for a reluctant house maid?

The house was looking fab when I was on holiday over the summer. I've been back at work for 4 weeks now and it's back to being a tip, and I'm back to requiring visitors to submit their intent to drop-by in writing three days hence!

Actually, if anyone knocked at the door now, I'd pretend to be out :D

Hi and welcome to Kit and Mrs De Bris! I managed to hoover downstairs but it was a very half-hearted effort (the sort where you don't move anything :o)

Getting very messy upstairs again now - hopefully I'll be well enough and have enough energy to do something about it at half term.

I dread the meter reader coming, because they don't give you any notice. I'm so ashamed of my mess and I cringe to see the "wow do you really live like this" look on their faces!
