Helen look at you and your list! Very impressive :)

Hi Natlie I don't know you as only recently joined. Hope your toothache is better now; there's nothing worse is there.

Laurel7172 sorry honey, it's not the weekend. Hang in there for a bit ... won't be long!

I don't feel like I've done a lot; sorted all the routine stuff (school runs/beds/washing/dishwasher etc), done just over an hour's worth of typing, chatted to Mum, filing and then it was time to pick DS up again from school! When I got back I made a few phone calls/fixed up appointments and sorted our car insurance (:j - saved £40!) and not done much this pm apart from wash up. Best vacuum I think and any time soon Mr T will be here with my shopping.

I managed to get yet more ironing done last night - only had 4 of DH's shirts left. But now have another wash load dry on the line I need to get in too so that's the plan for this evening.

I didn't manage to get the whole of downstairs clean but did do the cloakroom, side lobby and utilty and all of these pretty in-depth. I even cleaned the internal filter of the TD and the top of the boiler casing!

Tonight need to choose meal from meal plan to dinner tomorrow and defrost meat/fish, get washing in, watch Spooks :D

    Plan for tomorrow is-

    -Dailies
-finish cleaning downstairs -Hall/Kitchen/Diner/Playroom/LR -leaving study to DH!
    -1 hour OU study
    -Zumba class
    -cook dinner

    This week need to

    -clean the oven
    -Freezer and cupboard inventory
-buy new car insurance (waiting new credit card to come through for this)
-do the sewing which has been on the kitchen side for about 6 months!
    -Put photos to hardrive
-label up items for NCT sale x 2

These are all major frogs so I'm going to attempt 1 a day from tomorrow to get them cleared.

Writing the list is the easy part lol

Actually, I think you did quite a bit in the time you had. Its very easy to get into the mind set of "I have all this free time now so I should get everything done" but life isn't really like that. You only have a couple of hours before you are back at school again picking up your little man. Well done on getting so much done - you did more than me!!

I feel like I am drowning. my kitchen-diner is incredibly messy right now due to us having removed two large, ugly storage units. I now havnt got a clue where to put things, how to sort it out, how to make the livingroom clean and how to appease the hubby who is in the same feeling-boat and who keeps trying to help but making it worse.
I am ready to tear my hair out. :(

I don't know about you, Flibsey, but I have *at least* three kitchen cupboards full of stuff I never or rarely use. As it enters its second decade, I may have to admit I will never get around to using that Le Creuset tagine, and that juicing was just a phase. Could you be ruthless? Or are you planning to replace the units with something modern?

    In which case-boxes-garage/shed/loft/under the bed/mum and dad's garage/shed/loft until it's done.

But ruthless is better. So I've heard.

Ruthless is GOOOOD!! I cleared out my kitchen a few months ago, ashamed to say I got about 4 bin bags of stuff out - and it's only a tiny kitchen! :rotfl:

I can honestly say I've not missed any of the stuff I got rid of - the trick is to treat each item like a hot potato, don't think and agonise over the decision - it's a quick 'go' or 'stay' - amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it!

    Good luck!

  • Morning messies

I've just finished clearing out the garage so thats another job off the list - yeah!!!
I managed to get 9 bags of carp out and have offered them on freecycle and if they are not gone by 3 then they are off to the dump. I can now get to the table I want to re-stain and put in the DR and also get to the bookcase that needs to go in the LR

I'm very dirty now so a quick shower and then on to another job

Have a good day everyone and I hope all the poorlies are starting to get better

  • Well I've managed my dailies, and exercise class. Clear out a bit in the conservatory - got rid of another 4 bags of junk with a couple more 'pending' as waiting to see if school are having a jumble sale anytime soon, otherwise they can go to charity. Have taken out all the garden bits - toys, parasol etc. which we won't need over winter ready to go into the shed when we tidy the garden at the weekend.
Washing is drying outside. Just waiting on DS finishing his lunch then I can have a shower whilst he naps.

Still have more cleaning to do before the school run too -kitchen/diner/sitting room/playroom/hall is on the list for today. Must also tackle one of my frogs on this week's list as I have pledged 1 a day so can't not do the first one at least!

I've sanded down the top of the table ready for painting

I've given the table top its first paint of coat

I've brought the painting bits in so I can finish the Kitchen tiles

And NOW I'm off for my shower

Eta - shower done, Bookcase taken out of garage, built up and now ready to be put in place - old bookcase just offered on freecycle
