Afternoon all, Rummer I hope you are feeling better today. Well done to all who have managed to get something done. Football/rugby takes up most of my time at the weekend and work during the week so I end up playing catch-up most of the time. DS (13) and (15) now do their own ironing which helps, I did do their school uniforms for them a while ago but have decided ironing shirts is a skill they need to master, so I leave it all to them now.

    Have a lovely afternoon.

Slept most of the day today :o as I am still not 100%, yet certainly much better. Still have huge amounts of laundry to plough through, doing it as fast as I can however it doesn't seem to making much of an impact.

The car is very sick, the garage called and the min cost will be £250  mercifully though I am getting a lift to work tomorrow so it will save me the taxi fees. Maybe it is ill in sympathy with me, except I have been cheaper to treat :rotfl:

Tonight I will have the usual joy of doing the ironing to prepare for the week ahead, not to mention a huge pile of paperwork. Don't really feel as if I have had much of a weekend as I have slept through most of it, however it was probably exactly what my body needed.

Oh since I have been keeping the house clean my OH has said that we will be able to paint the dining room and he will help :j. So I have picked the colour and when I get paid I can buy the paint :D

  • I feel as if I've spent the whole weekend tidying and cleaning (well, to be fair, a fair amount of time online listing stuff on ebay and facebook selling groups too)...and although the place looks reasonable now, I still have a mssive pile of ironing (despite 2 hours done this morning) and at least 3 loads of washing to do

So sick of the constant drudgery of trying to keep on top of things...only been out the house for half an hour all weekend, and that was to the enviroclothes bank (got a whole £1!), asda for milk and b&m's for gravy granules...my life is just so exciting.

Back to work tomorrow...for a rest! *sigh*

Rummer - That's great. I makes such a difference painting a room. I think it really lifts the spirits and always helps me as it encourages me to keep it clean and tidy.

Yorkshirelass - Yes you should get on ebay. I go through phases where I do loads then get so bored of it. I don't really enjoy listing it all but it's great to have the money coming in. Last year, it paid for all our Christmas, then in May gave us spending money for our holiday.

On the home front. I did manage another hour ironing this morning. Then I cleaned all of upstairs :j Decluttered a few bits from kids bedrooms - DD is such a hoarder, she wants to keep everything. It's bin night tonight so I've put a few things which can only be described as rubbish straight out as I know that she won't even remember saving them ;)
DH ironed his work shirts and watched kids whilst I cleaned.
3 loads of washing, hoovered downstairs and done my mealplan and shopping list for the week. If only I were this organised and productive all the time, the house would be spotless :rotfl:
Went out this pm to some friends for a few hours. Back for kids tea, bath and bed. Now off to cook dinner, then plan is to watch Downtown Abbey later on. So much to choose from on telly tonight, Spooks is on at 9pm too and it's the last series so I'm expecting good things! I'm recording it to watch tomorrow. At least I know the ironing will be done for the next few weeks as it's only when I'm ironing that I feel I can justify watching telly otherwise I feel lazy!

Plan for tomorrow is post ebay parcel, return rental film, food shopping, clean downstairs and prep dinner. Then a lazy evening.

I completely empathize with you! That is exactly how I feel most of the time.

That more or less sums up how I feel at the moment too. I am working hard at clearing the clutter in the hope I will have more time if the place is tidier. I really need to get the family on board more but it is an uphill battle.

    Morning messies

Back from the weekend away - weather was really good, we had 1 shower in the daytime and 1 storm in the evening, kids even managed to get in the sea!!!! Water was far too cold for me to even dip a toe in but they loved it.

Now the isssue for the rest of the week is what to do [DH is away till Friday lunchtime and there are several jobs I want to do but I don't know where to start and that's whats stoppping me from starting so if you don't mind I'm goona make a listy on here and see what I can get done

    [STRIKE]Clean fish tank[/STRIKE] Done
    Finish painting kitchen tiles
    Shampoo LR carpet
    [STRIKE]Sort out DR[/STRIKE]Done
    Clean stair carpet
    Line hall curtains
    Paint BR wall
    Put skirting back in BR
    Get carpet for BR

    Welcome back, Natlie :)

Well, the floor in DD's room is completely finished. I have rued many times over the last fortnight my decision to replace the skirting boards rather than use quadrant at the edges, but I'm so glad I took the harder option now. :j

Even better, all her stuff is off my bedroom floor, and I can get to the wardrobe again.

I spent yesterday cooking all the food in the fridge with a use-me-or-lose-me look about it. The freezer is full, and I'm shattered. And I've just written a list of things that need doing in the house and garden that spreads to two sides of paper, without including any large jobs like tiling and painting, and no cleaning either.

Came home on time for a change, as had a headache. But I suppose I'd better drag my sorry rear out of bed and do one of the things on the list. Something nice like no 7-plant daffodil bulbs.

    Is it the weekend yet????:rotfl:
