Helen Jelly - Im not surprised you're tired. You've done loads! I'd be collapsed on the floor in a heap if I'd done that much, well done.
I did manage to get the cleaning finished. Still have one kitchen side covered in rubbish as it has been for the last week, so that still needs sorting. Also cleaned the kids bath toys. Kids just having their dinner and have prepped ours for later.
I think my frog for tonight might just be transferring photos to hardrive so I can be lazy and sit down while doing it.0 -
Helen jelly, I am exhausted just reading your posts, well done you :j
I had a night off last night and just sat reading and chatting to OH which was lovely, although I now have double the work to do todayBeen cooking from scratch for the last couple of days which has been lovely and really rewarding. Currently we have a steak pie and some apple crumble cooking the the oven for tea, yum
After tea I am going to tackle more laundry and get the dishwasher done, or convince my OH that he wants to do it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
what.... just, what...
ok so i wrote quite a big reply here, and ... it's just vanished. it looked like it had posted... but then i come back to this tab and it's saying my session has expired - even though I successfully posted in another one after - and on hitting back it just gives me ONE of the three things I quote-replied to, with none of my own text.
I did select-all, ctrl-c it before hitting submit, but as it appeared to go through ok, I've since typed other things and also safety-copied them.
Seriously, is there anything that can be done about the ludicrously short login persistence times? I've wasted quite a bit of time out of my day, there!
Anyway, super short but boring form: Garage shelves built after quite a grafting saga, many, many can-be-ignored-for-now boxes out of lounge/kitchen - at least, mostly - and place tidied up, rearranged and cleaned nicely. Sorted. Now to work on the rest of it (ie the remaining boxes of electrical stuff, and a spare room that looks like an explosion in a paper factory).
And thank you for your tips; I don't think all of them end up being relevant to my situation & all (e.g. avoiding ebay... some of what i want to get rid of is still fairly valuable despite being in a cupboard 5+ years, I may as well make someone else happy for acquiring it and earn a little bit of cash back in the process! It's not that arduous a thing for me to deal with, I've sold a couple things before) but many of them were, and one that I initially thought wasn't led to quite a bit of introspective reflection where I realised the old limits I've had to deal with for 8 years, and have led to a lot of the disorganisation and clutter, don't (fully) apply any more. I have a lot more space and freedom, which was always the plan anyway, but it's taken some time for it to sink in. Whee! :j0 -
Hi everyone. Natlie that baby is so cute give him a cuddle from me.
Dog had an accident on the front room rug. Could have strung him up as Iv only just cleaned it. Also peed in the kitchen so that I needed to bleach and disinfect the floor and units. Animals I love them but at times my patience is tested.
Helen well done on the work you have done.Im going to try painting the front room some time this week so the new curtains that I bought months ago can be put up.
Flibsy dont give up. Remember small baby steps.
Everyone else hugs and keep the good work going and the wine flowing.0 -
thanks everyone. I've been ruthless with everything, and am now just waiting for hubby's week off to start so that we can paint the wall (no car to get to homebase, not paying higher prices for paint lol) and finally get two nice shelves up that stretch along the wall.
it's still a tip lol!0 -
I'm grinding to a halt now, no one wants the Bookcase I'm getting rid of so its off to the dump tomorrow, its heavy and I don't know how I'll manage it but needs must!! Nearly finished putting all the books and bits back on the new bookcase - looks alot better [wasn't one of my jobs for this week but hey ho its a job done] another coat of paint to go on the table top tomorrow, possibly 2 more needed after that. It won't look great but it'll do until the kiddies are older and stop messing up tables - we bought it for £10 from an antique place, its like a Butterfly table but without the chairs, there's a cupboard and a drawer where the chairs go [modern butterfly tables have the chairs that store inside the middle part of the table]
I'm rambling now so I'm off for a coffee and a last session on tidying up
Helen x

Evening everyone, sounds like there has been lots of activity going on!
Been trying to keep on top on the housework and decorating the kitchen so its been quite a task. Painted the kitchen ceiling this afternoon which is a job I dont particularly enjoy but so pleased that its done!
Need to do the rest of the woodwork, another coat of paint on one wall then I am starting to get there. DS is getting excited because I have been saying that once the kitchen is done I will start on his bedroom. This one is going to come back and bite me on the bum I feel!
Money is really tight but I keep thinking how lovely it would be to get new carpets. Never mind the fact that the garden shed is leaking like a sieve and hubby says he just cant patch it up any more! Will just have to make do with what we have got for now I suppose.
Right off to watch the Body Farm and then bed!0 -
Hmm. Its gone a bit wrong. There's a duvet in the lounge and a VCR on the cooker hob. Erm.0

Also DF's birthday but he is coaching tonight, so have promised a nice dinner - roast beef has been requested and veg are already prepared.
DS returns from residential course and has texted to say he is starving as the food was plastic pap, so roast beef will be appreciated by him when he arrives home later. Nice to know I was missed, even if only for my cooking - :rotfl:
Catch you all later with an update
Have a good day all
