Hi Messies! I've been MIA too since work drains me too much during the week for more than a quick peek at the forum. Feeling a bit bleurgh tonight (hormones running riot, it's that time of life). Home has started to messy up again also due to my advanced state of drained-ness but I'm hoping I'll have a good bash at it at half term and get a bit further. Feels a bit chilly now but in true MSE stylee I haven't yet put the heating on and I'm sitting here in a fleece blanket!

    Good Afternoon :D

Well I still feel dreadful but I am determined not to let the house descend into chaos! When I finally made it out of bed this morning I hoovered upstairs and stripped the bed. That made me need a long sit on the couch and a strong cup of coffee.

Now I am building up the energy to go and put a laundry on, how pathetic am I :rotfl:at least all the windows are open so the house will smell fresh and lovely! OH is at work so I don't want to leave all the work to him when he gets in.

Maybe after 7 years of trying I will be able to convince my DD that hoovering really is fun and she will do it for me :rotfl:

  • Another one been MIA for a while, but have been decluttering along the way! Lots sold on ebay over the last month, and a few bits on the local facebook selling group. Spent most of today clearing out my walk in cupboard (that I haven't been able to walk into for at least 6 or 7 years!)....trouble is most of the carp from there is sitting on the landing floor waiting to be sold. :o.....but at least the cupbaord is tidy! DS was amazed when he got home from his dads just now and I showed him we could walk in it. And the hoover now has a home that isn't wherever I leave it!

Plan for this evening is catch up on all my sky+ programmes and tackle the ironing mountain that has bred this week :(

Spendaholic sounds as if you have been busy!

I got the rest of the house vacuumed and then we went out to the shops during the journey however the car got sick and we have had to leave it at the local garage, so hoping it will not be a massive bill! Still need to tackle the laundry but I am putting that off until tomorrow.

Spendaholic that's pretty impressive, well done. Doesn't it feel great to clear out?! I find it sooo theraputic, but as a hoarder (this is a hereditary condition in my family ;)), i need to be in the right mood. I've gotten better, but now can't bear to part with things unless it's via ebay as I feel that getting money back for things I've held on to makes it worthwhile having stored them for so long!

On the home front, I have mostly been making the most of the free listing on Ebay today. I now have 47 items listed :j A few of these were relists but I'm still pretty chuffed with myself.

I've spent most of today feeling like it's Sunday, so tomorrow will be a bonus day before the start of the week.

Also managed an hour gardening before the rain hit us this pm.

Plan for tomorrow is to clean upstairs so fingers crossed I can get that done in a couple of hours before DH gets too stressed out with the kiddies. Out tomorrow afternoon to some friends. Then ironing is a must for the evening as uniforms need to be done if nothing else. I'm sure I managed to clear the pile only a couple of weeks ago but it's now back up to about 3 foot high :o
Must also do a meal plan for the week as there are bits we need asap so will be shopping Monday am.

Now off to eat dinner (something and chips - DH is cooking) and veg out on sofa with a film that DH picked up from the library earlier today, £1.50 rental very MSE.

Last night went well. Film wasn't fantastic. A bit of a boys film - alien invaders, army guys, explosions etc. Ok to watch but didn't require 100% of my attention so I ironed at the same time so the pile is much reduced :j DS was up at 6am (and twice in the night). DD was up once, woken by DS to DH was up with her so he is having a lie in.

I now have the iron warming back up for another round. I may tired myself out doing it now with such a bad nights sleep but at least it will be done.:j

Then brekkie, coffee and cleaning is the plan.

Also v. chuffed that 2 items I listed on ebay only yesterday pm have bids on already. These are items that have moved house with us twice and have lived in the loft. I just keep looking at all the bits I'm ebaying and thinking crikey, we used to have money to spend on stuff other than bills, food and fuel.

    Good Morning!

MummyEm I have been up since 6 too, woke up early and just could not get back to sleep .

On the positive side though I have put the laundry on so have taken the first step to clearing the laundry mountain :D. It makes such a huge difference popping on a wash when the machine is full instead of letting it pile up like I have this week. Hopefully now I am feeling a bit less deathly I can get back into good habits.

Last night while the bath was running I washed down the rest of the bathroom so at least that is a job I don't have to do today! I also tentatively asked my OH if he could iron his shirts for the week today (he used to but I took the job over) and he said of course he would :D. In fact he has been great at doing jobs round the house, especially the dishwasher!

My next aim is to get my daughter a bit more on board, atm she will do things when asked however I want her to do a few bits and pieces without me having to remind her, I big ask I know but a goal to work towards anyway!

Getting a bit worried about the car, I will find out today if they can fix it or not and how much it will cost :(. Hoping it will not be crazy money and that it can be fixed today or I will have to fork out for taxis for work as the bus leaves to early for me to get DD to school. Fingers crossed!

Well done everyone busy bees. I worked like a fly lady yesterday. Washed both rugs in the front and back livingroom, mopped all the floors downstairs, cleaned Billy the jail birds cage, got through a pile of washing, put clean clothes away, cleaned and tidied our room and daughters, sorted out a pile of odds and ends ,most of which ended up being binned. Took up the clutter from the front room polished and cleaned the furniture.
Today Im doing more washing ,putting away and a general upkeep of the house.
O/h is in bed as he has been in extreme pain with his fibro and his leg has started trembling. He went into the back for a smoke and fell. Wont listen when I told him not to as he would fall.

  • Afternoon all. Must be something in the air - I was wide awake at 4 am and got up in the end for a cuppa. Went back to bed at 5.30 because I knew I had to get some sleep. Up again at 7.30 to get ready for Sunday football so now I feel really tired and am struggling to stay awake.

I am busy decorating the kitchen but am determined to keep the rest of the house reasonably tidy. The utility room is driving me mad, its just a dumping ground and there are so many things in there that just dont have a home. I need to tackle it this week because its the first room you see when you come in the house.

Rummer, hope the car bill isnt too bad - hate it when our car has to go in the garage.

Well done on your achievements Snookey, hope the OH is feeling better soon.

Oh and MummyEm - I should really get some things on ebay too. Might try and do that later this afternoon. I also need to make a shopping list - I must try and keep the food spending on budget this month - not easy!
