Hart - another bag - you could be my downfall lol Have a lovely day out, hope the weather holds fine for you.
Today - DH is at home, DD is at hers Dad's and DS is going there soon for the day so DH and I are going out for a little walk somewhere before it starts raining and I also need to pop to B&Q and get the £3 fleeces they have - putting them by for Xmas, I was naughty last night and ordered a bedspread form Tesco Direct for £10 for our bed!
I also need to Fleabay the various piles in the DR and our BR today and make the most of the free listing and if it doesn't sell then I'm taking it all to the CS - I need to make some space here as there are piles of carp everywhere.
DH needs to fix his car . . . . again!! There is an awful petrol smell that is highly evident [even in the Kitchen] when he pulls up so he needs to find it and mend it if he can
The house is really dragging me down at the mo but I've decided to wait until the kids go back to school [2 weeks and counting] and then tackle it as every time I put something away then they are getting something else out - you know what thats like don't ya lol
Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy yourselves

Got 2nd coat of paint on the corner area and behind washing machine... I will have to do a 3rd coat as the regular emulsion isn't as good at covering as the anti crack paint (I was just trying to make that more expensive stuff go further). It's driving me mad as I can't put the washing machine back yet and therefore it's harder to do everything as it's in the way. Another three hours to wait and I can then put it back and start work on the window area.
Helen - haha I haven't yet told you about my half-painted bedroom... it's been half painted for two years after I started it and never had the motivation to finish! Thank you for the welcome too. Hey, don't count those two weeks down too quickly, I work in education so it means the end of my summer hols!! I thought I'd get sooo much done but I think I'll have to settle for finishing in the kitchen this time. That car problem sounds worrying, hope it's something simple to fix.
Craftygranny - thanks for your welcome as well, hope you get some quality time!
Hart - thanks also for the welcome (can't wait to lose my newbie tag though!!) Have a great time at Gullivers!

I was a registered childminder for many years and loved it. We had a lot of nurseries spring up in our area but that gave me the impetus to go into adult education as my work dried up. I later taught home based childcare for a few years. I now teach Maths, lucky enough to work from home.
My daughter cannot get a registered childminder in her area, so do some research, the demand may well be there.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Just re-read and realised you were talking about the expense of a childminder rather than working as one, Helen? Oh well, it's a thought.
At Chez And (mine) we had a major change, son FINALLY got around to taking bookshelves downstairs from the office and taking his clothing out of the lounge so they swapped places. Hooray! I now have a house that looks like other peoples' places again!!
I also got shot of about ten bags of books, lots of them outdated reference ones, stuff I bought when I was studying for degree, teaching certs etc etc etc. Which has freed up space on the shelves and means that stuff in boxes in my (huge but still cluttered) hallway can be re- homed. Woo-Hoo!
I have a man coming to fit a new wrought iron porch gate (have a covered porch at rear that is attached to outhouse and storage area that stretches the length of my small back garden) and wrought iron bannisters tomorrow. Existing wrought iron and wood ones must be around 35-40 years oldErma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Morning All!
Well, managed to clear 40% of floorobe yesterday eve.:j
DD & DS stayed at DS godmothers on Sat night. OH took me out for something to eat and I managed to get an early nght. Phne rang at 9.03am and woke us up:mad:, it was M&S money, had row with them other aft about direct debit I had set up and they hadn't taken. Man I spoke to was very rude and it was him that phoned back. He told me it was a normal working day. When I tried to call back they were closed. Finally got through to customer services and it seems this member of staff had not logged the call. Big complaint going in this morning.
OH calmed me down and took me out for breakfast. Put lots of stuff into loft went to Go Ou*doors and bought a set of walking poles. Went to temple Newsam farm where DD got really upset when geese came near. She was bitten by a Canadian goose at Harewood a couple of weeks ago.
Started on floorobe got lots of OH clothes put away. Got enough prescription drugs of various kinds to fell half the street:D, put them out of reach of little fingers. DS going to my mums overnight, DD going out with my dad today. I'm mad cleaning their room today and get washing done whilst it's fine. Will check back in later.0 -
Morning Messies & Hugs to all that need one,
Did I miss free listings on ebay AGAIN!! Got a big parrott cage that needs to go!! Will probably list it this week anyway., Its taking up waaaayy too much room. Have considered putting our new puppy in there though :rotfl:
I'm off work this week with DS so hopefully will manage to get a little bit straighter on the home front. I stripped DS bedroom last week so need to fill the cracks/ holes, sand the walls & wood work then clean ready for glossing & painting. Would probably get most of it done in a day if I didnt have 2 little one running around!! (DS & puppy)
Pups 2nd injections on Thursday so getting closer to being able to go out for a wlk with him. Can't wait. :j
Must think about getting dressed soon but not been too lazy this morning. Did 2 toilet trips to the garden by 5.30am. WM been on and on the line 2nd load already in. DW loaded just got to collect this mornings coffee cups and then on.
Have a good day all.0 -
Okay messies - don't all faint with shock, but I finally managed to clear my spare room! We're getting our new sofa tomorrow, so the sofa bed we're using in the living room will get moved to the spare room tonight, and then it's all ready (save for a few touches like fresh flowers) for my Mum's arrival on Thursday! :j
(Of course, I'm refraining from mentioning that I've still got to clean the kitchen which is in dire need of a scrub, reduce the laundry pile which is currently occupying the hallway, take out the mountain of recycling I have created, and give our bedroom the once over :rotfl:)In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!0 -
Right, all the !!!! is cleared out of the living room- put loads of papers on the fire for burning, tidied all my paperwork away and sorted through the household file. Also did a load of washing and hung it out, and the washing up. Still got loads more to do but this is all stuff OH can see I've done so he shouldn't moan at me for spending all day 'doing nothing'! Oh and I've sorted out my floordrobe, excellent
ETA also started on taking the interesting articles out of my family history magazines...must stop buying these as there's not a lot in there that's useful to me!
