Candy girl put your feet up at least you have an excuse, lol. Helen I bet your happier than lots of people who have money. Id rather have my family than lots of money anytime even if I do dream of winning the lottery.
Thankyou for the kind words re my medical. Its over now thank god just have to wait for the outcome. At least Ill be busy doing fun things whilst I wait.
Iv done nothing today apart from getting our suitcases and bits of shopping. Slept for a few hours this afternoon so feeling a bit groggy.
Ill have to get the jobs that our outstanding done tommorrow or at least try.0 -
Snookey - ain't that the truth. I could go out to work but DH prefers it if I didn't whilst the kiddies are young, it might bring in more money but we'd only be paying it back out in other areas - childminding springs to mind! I get a real buzz out of shopping frugaly and knowing that the shops are not getting our money if I can either do it myself or get it on Freecycle or somewhere like a CS or Ebay - I hate shops and thats coming from someone who helped manage a rather large retail shop and worked in retail for many years!! I do love window shopping - to see what things costs and to rob ideas lol. Glad today went ok for you and I hope you get the outcome you want

Hi all, havent been on here for a while, just back from holiday and I have to say the house looked OK when I walked in after a week away. The decluttering is definitely paying off. Do other people notice things in the house that need attention when they have been away? Mine was the oven which I realised was disgusting. Why do I not keep on top of it? Soaked all the shelves in washing powder overnight then gave them a good scrub yesterday morning so its all looking sparkly. Really really need to decorate the kitchen though.
Sorry to hear some of you are having a hard time (big hugs Frugal). Oh and great to hear the baby news Natalie/CandyGirl - hope everything is going well.
I am in a bit of a spin at the moment because I have seen a job advertised locally that would be ideal for me. Its very part time so I might just be able to fit it around DS and his health problems. I have applied and am waiting to hear but keep wondering if I am doing the right thing. Time wise its not great because we face some big challenges when school starts again but will there ever be a right time? I wish I had a crystal ball so I could see into the future. I want to work again - and financially I really need to get back to work at some point - but I feel so torn, my son needs me so much and I am scared that I might not be able to cope. Of course I havent got the job yet so we shall see.0 -
Back from holiday.
Watered garden. Most of the plants survived. Found the cat's stash of baby birds. She hunts heavily when we're not around to be disdained.
Car, fixed the day before we went away, broke down on the way back from the airport. Not too far from home, and a friendly neighbour spotted us and gave us a lift home with our bags. So the breakdown company picked me up from home and took me back, declared the car unfixable on the spot and towed it home. Now I'm waiting for the garage to come and pick it up...
I suppose I'd better think about getting the washing on, then...import this0 -
Hi everyone
This morning I went to clean Mrs J's and came back with loads of fabric and craft books as she was haveing a sort outit was lovely of her but Im trying to declutter :rotfl: oh well I will have to make more bags :rotfl:
I have a wash on the line and I even managed to cut the lawn :j
Now I need to rest before work tonight
Yorkshirelasson the job news, I feel like that about wanting to leave my present job and I want to take on the new one I have been interviewed for as the hours are a lot better for me but the money is less than I get now and I have been doing this job 4 yrs now so know it inside out
but if I don't take the school cleaning job another won't come up for a long time, this also fits in better with my family as its 3.30-6.30 where at the mo Im doing 7pm-9pm
but all I can say is go for it or you might regret not trying
Laurelnot a good way to end a holiday
but I hope you had a great time
Well best go sort tea out and will catch you all laterGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Hart - more bags - I can't wait :j
Cambridge was ok - we walked forever!! All I bought were Pj's [fleece type] from Pr!mark and some Calendars for Xmas pressies
DS bought himself some t-shirts and a console game - out of his own money - not bad for an 8yr old :T
DD bought herself leggings, t-shirt and some cheap bling - again, out of her own money :T
I'm quite proud of them - I tell them they have to save if they want to buy their own stuff, they save, I take them out and then they buy, but, they only buy if its cheap enough - how MSE is that!! Wish I knew about money when I was younger - might of saved myself all the debt paying I'm doing now!!!
When I got home, after several coffee's and ciggies I decided that enough was enough and after starting painting the Kitchen tiles several years ago but never finishing them . . . I got out the paint and have started to redo them - one wall done [will need another coat] but its started so this time I'll finish it.
DH has gone fishing - he never gets much chance to do stuff for himself so off he was sent but he's not had a good time - no bites, bait falling off the hook etc so he's on his way home with the hump - may have to be nice to him later to make up for it hehe
Tomorrow kiddies are at their Dad's so some housework might be done or the Lottie may be visited
Catch you all laters gators

Hi everyone. Iv been running around like a headless chicken getting things done. I had planned to get up early but ended up getting up very, very late. Iv finished the packing told everyone if its not in the cases tough. Fed up having to ask them for the clothing they were taking with them.
Oh mum is quiet nosey was going to put post it notes on the inside of cupboards and drawers with little messages, such as, what you looking in here for, nosey , keep out ,ect.lol . Im sure she would have to confess to nosing as she can not hold her tongue, lol. I wont though as they are being really kind looking after the house and animals. Pity though.
Iv got to hoover the front room as seed is all over the floor thanks to Billy the jail bird. A few minor tidy ups and thats it. Holiday here I come !.
Take care everyone.0 -
Snookey - have a great holiday
The kiddies are away, been at the in-laws since thursday. I spent thurs eve with my lil sis. DH confessed to me last night that he put the heating on as he was cold! I told him that was not going to happen again. We cannot afford to have the heating on in August !!
Spent the day shopping yesterday. Found a lovely dress for a wedding we are going to in a few weeks. In the sales, only £26 and already have shoes and bag that go perfectly with itShowed OH last night got quite a good reaction so that was good as he'd normally say 'it's fine' about everything I show him!
Had nice evening lst night. Couple of drinks down the pub, Mr T finest meal for our dinner. My head is a bit sore today - had 3 glasses of wine and a beer which is a lot for me at the moment.
Today so far have had a lie in. DH brought me a cuppa in bed (unprompted!!), just have telly on and laptop on my lap
DH is up and doing already as he has a list of DIY jobs he wants to get done today with kiddies out of the way.
I need to put some washing on, clear up our bedroom floor as I just dumped all the bits fromm shopping on the bedroom floor yesterday. Also need to clear the kitchen as we didn't clear up last night, just went straight to bedWould like to ebay a couple of bits as it's a free listing weekend. Then will be clearing out the shed with OH later on too. Plan for tonight is a take out so very lazy indeed.
Sorry this has turned into a bit of a long one0
