Morning all, had a very productive day yesterday!
4 loads washing done and dried on line cox I stripped the beds! Cleaned all windows inside house, washed bathroom floor and washed shower curtain in bleatch to get rid of mildew! Rehung a door and put loft hatch back up after painting. Phew!
So, today, well dd2 at childminder all morning so am taking dd1 into town to get dd2s birthday cards. Suppose I'd better do some hoovering this arvo!
Have a good day messies x0 -
I'm having a bitty, pottering time.
It always feels non-productive, and atm it *looks* non-productive, (though it has a habit of all coming together very quickly at the end) but it keeps me going.
I'm finding it very hard to tackle a whole job head-on, no matter how small. I think it's because I'm so tired (partly worn out, partly my condition), and to be honest, I think I'm frightened of finding I can't finish what I start, if that makes any sense. So I do a bit at a time, then a bit of something else, then go back...and that way I avoid finding out my limit. Before I was ill, I had so much energy, and I've realised I'm being a bit of a coward. I don't want to be able to compare what I can do now to what I could do then. Pointless and depressing-and actually I'm bloody lucky to be here at all.
Anyway, I've decided I can still do anything. I just need more tea breaks than I used to. Like that's a bad thing.
But over the last couple of days I've managed to potter the washing, the dishwashing, a couple of small DIY jobs, change the beds, wash out the bins and some kitchen cupboards, arrange three quotes for the new boiler, done some of the ironing, most of the tidying up and I'm still going. I have to. I've got three plumbers coming to the house tomorrow! :rotfl:import this0 -
How much polishing does copper take?
I'm having a war on the horrible yellowed lumps of plastic stuck to the walls in this house.
Defunct burglar alarm uninstalled-three gone.:T
But the worst is in the kitchen-a HUGE square box with a great big FUSE sign on it. It's not the main fusebox, but it's probably related to the electricity meter on the other side of the wall.
I may lack imagination, but it's hard to see how it can go anywhere else without remodelling the kitchen. Which is why it's there in the first place, I suppose.
Anyway, I could get an electrician in to quote for moving it (if I wanted to start taking units off the wall), but I'm sure that would cost more than the lovely French copper jam pan that I've measured up and would fit over the top of it beautifully.
But copper...for a messie...do you think it's wise????import this0 -
Well yesterday wasn't amazingly productive but did manage to achieve hoovering our room, girls room, landing and stairs. My god it was bad!
Then fell asleep in front of telly and didnt even clear kitchen. Bum. Have now loaded dw this morning.
Am off to friends this morning who lives in a big house with a playroom which quite frankly hasn't been cleared for years! We always sell at nct so we are sorting toys for that. Why is it always nicer doing somebody else's house? Lol!
Good luck today messies xxx0 -

The pan sounds gorgeous - apparently you can clean copper with a lemon and some salt and then wax it to keep it shiny?0 -
Oh my messies - sorry I've been away for a while, hectic life as usual
Just back from a long weekend at the in-laws - nice to see them, even nicer to get home.
Unfortunately the housework faries didn't visit while we were away (I'm not very happy with those slackers right now ), so tonight I've got to make a new list and attempt to tackle it - laundry, hoovering, dishes, change the bed, sort out recycling, find a quite corner to weep in :rotfl:
On the plus side, despite being the opposite of green fingered, I've planted up some basil and chilli peppers from free seeds I got and the basil has started blooming already - no sign of the peppers yet, but it's only been a week...In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!0 -

Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Happy birthday Rummer....of course no cleaning!
Have managed to get rid of old breadmaker and food mixer thingy, so may manage to get new processor into cupboard and off worktop...to-morrow, as feeling a little fragile to-night.

Oh, happy birthday Rummer. Quite right - who would be expected to tidy & clean on their birthday?

aaarggh - I have found the ultimate incentive to tidy - my passport is missing and I go on holiday in 31 days
The study where it is normally kept has been decluttered to within an inch of its life
Old papers shredded
Banking stuff filed and so on
The living room has had everthing moved, hoovered underneath and then dusted - just in case
The kitchen is tidied - the junk drawer - we all have one - don't we?? has been emptied and decluttered
I have checked handbags, sports bags, even underwear drawers
Booger - looks like I will have to pay for a fast track one - £112.50 - at least it was quite old so not a total disaster0
