Afternoon All!
So, got back from hols at 4pm. Have so far unpacked most of the bags, just some clean clothes and toiletries left to go, have put 2 washes on, loaded the dishwasher with dinner stuff and put away toys taken with us for DD!
It was lovely coming home to a clean and tidy house after my marathon clean up operation before we went! It actually motivated me to get stuff put away as quickly as possible so it looked tidy again.
My tasks for this weekend;- Finish putting clothes away,
- Hoover and Mop floors
- List 10 things on ebay/gumtree
- Keep things tidy and clean as I go!
- Try and tidy the garden a little bit.
Hope you've all had a good week.0 -
Can anyone put up a link to the thread?.......I'm intrigued to read what they talk about over there!!
Thanks

Thanks for this Shelley. I've only got as far as the first post, and don't know if I want to go any further! I'm sure, without doubt, that the ladies on there are really lovely people, but they make me feel really awful and useless. I think it would just make me too depressed to carry on reading.0 -
Right so today has not been a good day in Maison d'MK Mess.
Sun was shining so put wash on, then a freind came over all morning with her 3 year old so not only did my wash not go on the line but 2 3 year olds and a nearly 2 year old had a jolly old time playing with the sand pit and have now trailed sand all throiugh the house. I have still not hoovered.
Kids decided to play 'see how much we can splash' in the bath tonight so I have a soaked bathroom, dirty towels still on floor in there.
Up notes are that I went to Homebase to get another tin of gloss (side project is glossing all the door frames) and picked up a fab little table, parasol and chairs set for kids. And also made brownies which are virtually fat free, dairy free and cholestrol free as I am on a restricted diet due to ibs.
DP at work til god knows when ans Phil Collins is on the box coz I cant find the control and Im too lazy to get up and turn it over myself!
Anyway, lets hope the sun shines for the weekend eh Messies xxx0 -

OMG how good did I feel today!! I was doing some exercises on the wii fit at about 9 this morning, before breakfast, when there was a knock at the door. I opened the door and there was a man who said he was there to do a condition survey on behalf of the housing association (we’d had a letter about it but I’d forgotten all about it), luckily because of all the work I’ve done this week I didn’t feel too bad about letting him in. So he came in and did all his checks, then while he was putting all the information into his gadget he says “It’s been a real pleasure doing this house!” I said “really?” and he replies “Yes, it’s so nice, clean and tidy, you should see some of the houses I’ve been in while doing these surveys!” I didn’t admit that it would have been different if he’d come earlier in the week, lol, and I dread to think what he would have thought if he’d come a year or so ago before I started decluttering! I did say that it was messier than I would like it to be (I hadn’t done the washing up and there was drinking chocolate powder spilt on the kitchen worktop from last night, plus the bed hadn’t been made), and I said the spare room was a mess due to my DS leaving a lot of his stuff when he moved out, which is partly true! The only truly embarrassing thing about his visit, apart from the bed being unmade, was the fact that I wasn’t dressed, and was just wearing knickers and a robe, lol!
Mind you I have had a totally CBA day today, but I think I deserve it after all I’ve done this week, and all I’ve done is one load of washing and went out for some milk and eggs. The washing did get dry today but I’ve not ironed it yet, may do that tomorrow if I get time.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

I agree, life's too short to be mopping three times a day. Three times a year is more like it :rotfl:0 -

Oh hun, please don't feel bad. No-one I know in real life washes bedding more than once a week (spillages and other accidents excepting). It's wonderful for them that they have the time, energy and inclination to do that amount of upkeep to the housework. I personally prefer the lived in approach. I might only dust when it needs doing, the plates from tea might get done the next day. I do hide baskets of unfolded washing in my bedroom when I have guests and cba to fold it. I don't believe that this is uncommon and I don't feel slovenly for admitting it. If I wanted a perfect house, I'd have to evict the OH, kids and pets, shortly followed by myself  Different strokes for different folks. As long as cleaning doesn't become an obsession (so not a problem for me) and as long as your home isn't a serious health hazard, I do believe that is the right balance x0
