Morning All.
Made a good dent on the ironing pile last night, will try and get to the bottom of it tonight. Looks like its going to be another wet day I think Autumn has arrived all ready!:(
Snookey - Dogs peeing in the kitchen thats probably going to be a frequent occurance in our house in the near future when our litlle puppy arrives. I think the mop & bucket will be my new best friend! :rotfl:0 -
Rant alert!
Oh god, I got the keys to my new house yesterday. Ok, I knew it wasn't going to be perfect, as the woman had SIX greyhounds/lurchers in what isn't a huge house, but oh god, oh god, oh god. We spent hours and hours and litres and litres of bleach just scrubbing the kitchen last night...OH also did the conservatory and I made a start on the living room. Her dogs have peed up the breakfast bar stools and the bar holding it up, so it's all rusty...dog hair is ground into the carpet and in several places that were hidden by furniture it looks like a cat has been sick several times and she hasn't cleaned it up, so the carpet is really badly stained. Our poor little hoover cant cope, so my mum is bringing the dyson over tonight. I used an entire thing of shake and vac and it still stinks, I smell like I've been swimming because I've used so much bleach.
And that's only one and a half rooms.
Upstairs, more cat sick stains that were hidden by the bed, and I wondered why there was a bedside table in the wrong place, the carpet is stained there too, mildew it looks like. The bathroom doesn't look too bad on first glance, but the drains (all of them actually, the kitchen one too) are blocked with gunk and hair. I was almost sick last night at the state of the place. She's left a sky box and the remote is crusted with this brown stuff, I dread to think what it is.
Then there's the garden...broken ornaments everywhere...it's gone to rack and ruin in the short time since our last viewing (about a month and a half). Weeds absolutely everywhere, old bags of clay, broken ornaments, overgrown and half dead bushes.
Oh and in the kitchen, bits of dog food and hair EVERYWHERE. I mean, everywhere...in cupboards, on top of cupboards, in drawers, down the drains, everywhere. I'm glad my OH has a stronger stomach than me
Honestly, I know I'm not the cleanest person in the world but I don't know how anyone can live like this...I don't know if it's because we're habitual renters, and used to leaving houses clean and tidy when we leave them, but I feel really upset that she's left it in such a state...I don't know what she was doing in the last few weeks because there's also massive holes in the plaster that weren't there before
I just want to cry

Lord ColleenPamela, thats a midden!
I was going to say what I had been up to, but its not up to that standard. I feel like I am quite rubbish. I just make pies and mop. xTrying to shift that debt!0 -

Hello Messies
Put a laundry on this morning but had a friend round so not got much cleaning and tidying done. Cleared some tubs out in the garden so I can plant some fresh lettuce. Going to tackle a bit more of the garden and the bedroom today, still not cleaned the cooker.

Um... if it's any help, the innards of my mum's TV remote went brown when she dropped it in a cup of tea
Deepest sympathies on the state of the house. Do you think your dogs may be tempted to mark territory when they move in?‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Lordy Short_bird all she needs is more dog wee!
We need some old style odour killers / wee deterrants... wasnt lemon meant to be really effective?Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Scrubbing with bleach and keeping dogs on leads when first let into the house and being firm with them is meant to be the best way apparently...
Got some flea powder for the carpet just in case.
Been scrubbing the bathroom today. Ack. Bleach bleach bleach. May even bleach myself when we're done!
Thanks for the kind words everyone
