Morning everyone! Carp weather here today, shame I'm out and about in it!
Done events outside for the last 2 days, last one today, wouldn't be so bad if it didn't involve lugging display stands and stuff to hand out everywhere! Oh well.
We managed to get the fridge defrosted last night! Looks lovely now and the first thing I did this morning was open the door to see how lovely it looked - and there's actually space in there now. Ashamed to say it was a bit like my food cupboards, with out of date (and unidentifiable) stuff in there - no more!! Unfortunately our hand held steamer died, so we will think about replacing it - TBH I hasn't used it that much but it was useful at times.
Mum will be happy now we have shifted all the unused packing boxes from her flat - our spare bedroom is looking a little cluttered now though! I just have to remember it won't be for ever. She is going to have a cleaning session before the viewing tomorrow, might spur me on to do something tonight!
Happy cleaning, decluttering or whatever floats your boat!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Morning All and hope everyone is well.
Nothing much to report at the mo. DH been away in his wagon for the past 2 nights so not much mess to speak of! Took DS to his swimming lessons last night I'm hoping that he moves up soon he seems to have been stuck in stage 2 forever! He's just too lazy and would prefer to play than swim.
I plan to do absolutely nothing this weekend as its my 40th birthday on Saturday. We will be going to over to my dads house as he didnt want me cooking!
Hoping to go and see the new puppy we are getting too. Its only 3 weeks old at the moment and DS is getting soooooo excited :j. We've not had a dog for about 4 years and really miss it. Will have to get use to the mess & dog hairs again though :eek:0 -
Dogs are lovely Nikki and the hairs just mean that its more worthwhile cleaning up!!
My house is a tip, Ive been back at work one day and as the weather deteriorated, there is mass of washing to do, a load of dishes to do, I have forgotten how to use the hoover, the dust is now a feature...
I think I need to employ DD2 tonight and get it sorted. She can help with DS and flit a duster about.
I also need to clear some surfaces and some areas.
Think I will start with a list! I shall make it NOW!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
I'm good at making lists . I'm just rubbish at doing anything on them .lolCross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

What's the difference between this and the flylady thread if you don't mind me asking? Is it for the hopeless cases :P. cos I'm loving flylady but I definitely fit with the renegades too...right, off to clean the bear pit (otherwise known as my room), so I can actually get in my bed tonight.0

Oh, I'm brilliant at making lists - I've got notebooks full of half ticked off lists!
I should actually make a list for tonight. We had a quick tidy yesterday morning as a police officer was visiting to take a witness statement from the hubby, but I really need to get in to gear tonight - it's bin day tomorrow so they've got to go out, I need to do laundry as I'm running out of clean pants, and a friend is popping around tomorrow to keep the hubby company in his misery, and she'll be joining us for dinner, so that means the dishes & kitchen need to be done too (dishes really feels like an endless task - as soon as I've washed them we seem to use them again just as quickly!):rotfl:In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!0 -

Ok I need to rant so be warned
Just phoned Working Tax Credit plonkers again - we got the letters today to tell us our final salaries for last year ending March 2011 - they have the wrong figures for me but apparently thats my fault cos thats what I apparently put on the form - know idea how "I" could of got the figure they have as its nowhere near or anything like the pittance I earnt!! Then the letter goes on to say that we owe them 4.5K - WHAT!!!! - man on the phone also says we will owe them £950 for this year too so by the end of April 2012 we will owe working tax plonkers 5.5K - OMG. I am disputing this big time - apparently [said with sarcasm several times] when I have phoned to give MY change of details I never told them that DH was staying the same - well of course I wouldn't I wasn't phoning about him was I!! But I'm supposed to know that if I phone and give my expected earnings for the year I have to include his too - make note of that people cos its important. Watch this space cos I'm going down fighting over this one - I'll not win cos you never do against them, my word against theirs and all that!!
Needless to say I've done !!!!!! all as I'm trying to think of how to break it to DH gently - the up side is that we don't start paying it back until April 2012 and at a rate of 25% of what ever we will be getting then [probably nil by then as the Government are continually decreasing the amount you can get]
Heard on the Radio yesterday that for a family consisting of 2 adults and 2 kiddies to be able to afford to live the adults need to earn £760 A WEEK!! Wow was all I could think - that would be pure nectar here, we don't earn in a month enough to keep us going for 10 days using those figures!!!
Housework - nada done and nada getting done cos I'm just to cheesed off to think about it
Off for several coffees now

Hi Helen I also had this and apparently myself and DH owed them about 2grand.
I had very little salary last year as was on maternity leave. I normally earn 26 grand a year, but I was unpaid for three months and on part pay for much of the year. We get 18 per week in total. That is also for the childcare element. I am having to pay back £104 a month to them by direct debit and I was forced to pay a lump sum too. I told them each and every time my circumstances changed, and apparently this counts for nothing.:mad:(for the last three months I was on unpaid leave, so couldnt get working tax credits as they said I wasnt working even though I was employed, so I merely got normal tax credits)
They came back when I gave my return to work info and said I had been overpaid. You may get a bill from them, and need to ring someone else up, and rather than deducting it they will want a seperate payment.
Basically, its now 80 pounds a month and my childcare costs alone are 550, then what I pay them back is 104.:mad::mad:
Best of luck with it, Kathryn xTrying to shift that debt!0
