Well done Candygirl - I got rid of a load of clothes when we moved, yet I've still got a floordrobe (and I can't completely blame the OH for that!). I'm determined to tackle it this weekend - would be to find clothes without scrabbling on the floor, and to be able to get to my dressing table in the mornings too! :o
In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!

House is looking not too bad today!!

Managed to clean through yesterday during my 2.5 hours of childfree time.
Have even started taming the ironing pile back down to size - its still taking up the whole top of the tumbler right up to the boiler - about a foot and a half higher up! Still at least it's not spilling over onto the floor anymore. DH is away for 2 nights so will do a few more hours tomorrow night. Sister is staying tonight so will be having a girly night and some wine. :D

Have been stuck indoors today as it's tipping it down here. Kids are bored - climbing the walls. Conservatory roof is leaking so looks like it's raining indoors

Casserole in oven for kids dinner. Will be warming back up for sis and I later on this evening.

Just need to make kids beds and spare bed back up before bedtime. Had been waiting for a sunny day to get them done, but forecast isn't great for the weekend so thought I may aswell get it ticked off the list.

I can't comment on turning 40. I've got a few years before I get to 30, but I'm dreading this already:o DH is almost 10 years older than me tho so at least he'll be turning 40 then, may detract from my wrinkles! Mind you, he has told me he'll be trading me in for a younger model, I'd like to see who else'd have him then :rotfl:

    Hi fellow messies

Just popping my head up for a breath of fresh air before cracking on again. Busy week workwise which is good news when you work for yourself!

House seems to have gone backwards if that were possible however have managed to keep the kitchen and bathroom tamed. Really struggling to get organised. Work will ease off now until September so that is my "wondow of opportunity" still how many years have I been telling myself that for?!

Did managed to fill my recycling crates and also put 4 bags of rubbish out so maybe doing more than I realise.

I just saw this thread and thought it sounds just like my home. So i read the first page tips/abbrev etc and some inbetween and the latter ones too! So at least I don't feel quite as down and depressed, but its just making the start - where???
In my defence, I have Ms and get the dreadful tiredness which leaves things sometimes half done or never started, but .......I am determined that a declutter, thorough clean up is iminent and overdue, even though i know it really will be babysteps.

So is there a best place to start? Upstairs? Downstairs?
I want to get cracking now:T so point me in the right direction, please ;)

I would go to your front door, and spend 5-10 minutes tidying...then break, then follow the path visitors would take if they came into your house in ten minute bursts...

My mum has MS, she gets very tired but she's stubborn as anything and insists on overworking herself

    Happy birthday Nikki :)

Thanks Sagaris :) It's not been entirely straightforward to be honest, we were supposed to be completing on 5th August! She then tried to force me to complete on the 11th July, now we've settled for the 18th...turns out my solicitor is a big liar too  but I wont go into that.

Time to go and sort some more clutter out, wish me luck, it's a jungle in that bedroom! ETA: if I can tear myself away from http://zenhabits.net/simple-living-manifesto-72-ideas-to-simplify-your-life/ I need some of that!

Good Evening Messies! Welcome to the newbies and hello to the lurkers!

Well have i got news for you!! :p
I've taken the attitude that if my OH wants a divorce I'd better get my backside into gear, get tough and start planning my new situation.
I spoke to OH and expressed that I was extremely worried and hadn't had a letter yet from his solicitor. He said he had only said it to try and scare me into doing something about the house, he said he had spoken to me about it and it made no difference so he thought if he frightened me enough I would act! Jackpot, it worked! I know, it's not the nicest thing to do and is quite cruel tbh but I've said I need him to help me sort things out. He is depressed he admits and said that he is sick of the house in the state that it is. At least he's not divorcing me, he is worth fighting for.
More good news I had a surveyor from Warmfront this afternoon. I didn't think thqt we would qualify let alone have a grant awarded. He prodded and poked around and decided that my flue was seriously damaged and the boiler needed replacing.:T The only downside is we have to remove the old boiler which apparently has asbestos in it:eek: This will save us so much money as the old boiler is extremely inefficient. Ive been following the thread preparing for winter II.

He switched off our system and told us it was at risk. The good thing(I think) is that they need access and clear runs through the house therfore I need to de clutter and clean in a big way!!! The flyladies must have been sprinkling their dust on this thread, everyone seems to be tackling something!

I found a lovely chunky cardigan pattern and I asked my knitting class teacher to look it over for me. I'm a big girl and don't need to look any bigger than I already am;) She gave me her opinion, all done by email, I love the internet. I sent her links for 6 pattens and she picked out my 1st 2 choices!! I went and got some yarn and had the rest of the balls put by. Only thing is I have so many unfinished projects!!

I intend to do some laundry and paperwork this weekend along with decluttering. My OH has even agreed to paint the kitchen once the boiler is installed:T:T:T

So messies, what a difference 5 days makes. I am so relieved. Once again thank you so much for your suport and kind thoughts. I am feeling more positive now and feel I can keep plodding on.

HELP!! I think that I am desperately ill, perhaps it is contagious, I hope so;)

I went to bed and couldn't settle. So I've got up and tackled the cupboard of cleaning stuff etc under the sink. I can't believe how much stuff is crammed in there. I have found three microfibre cloths in pkts I've already got 3 in use. 4 bottles of degreaser 1 in use. Lots of laundry products that I have doubled up on. More dosing ball systems for the WM than I care to list. I have wiped it out, put the extras in a basket to take into garage and put everything else on baskets so that they can be easily moved. I'm now sat with a small tot of Irish;) as my reward. I could murder some chocolate!! Hope that this condition is terminal, especially before the new boiler gets fitted!!
    Night Night!!

I get like that too ExTrolly - I've been known to load the washing machine at 3 in the morning! :D

Got the third load of washing in now, trying to get it out on the line before the rain we are promised. Out to Mr T's after my shower, then our huge fortnightly dog walk - should be up to 10 different dogs there, all from different training classes our trainer has run over the past couple of years, should be out for around 2 hours. Then lunch and out to the opticians - we both need new glasses and sunglasses too - thought I'd take advantage of the offer on at Boots (and all those points too! :D)

Will get other housework bits done too, I aim to have all the washing and ironing done and put away this evening.......we will see!

Hope everyone has a good productive day, or a restful one, if you'd prefer! :)
    :j Almost 2 stones gone! :j
