Can't believe I'm wide awake at stupid o'clock, but DH just left for work and with the dawn chorus I can't get back to sleep.
I'm starting to feel really fed up at the moment even verging on the point of weepy. The house isnt the tidiest its been but thats not getting me down (for once).
I think the gloom of turning 40 is starting to hit me. I'd imagined being spoilt and made a fuss of but its just not going to happen. MY DH just doesnt do birthdays. I missing my Mum too, she passed away 2 years ago and it would have meant evrything to have her around, we had a joint 18th & 40th (her birthday was 6 days after mine) and now I'm turning 40 it's not fair she's not here.
I've been looking forward to turning 40 for the past year but now its looming I just want to hide. Everyone at work keeps asking me what am I doing & have I got anyhting planned. I'm just sick of them asking now. I'm the one who does everything in this house and for once would like to be shown I'm worth something! My dad has took pity on me & invited us round to his house tomorrow cause he doesnt want me cooking! I guess you can always rely on you dad!!
Sorry for the rant.0 -
Morning all!
Don't feel like I've been to bed at all, we had foxes in the front 'garden' (size of a postage stamp) last night, ripping open the bin bags (no wheelie bins here lol) so we were awake several times. DH has put it all back into new bags again, not what you want first thing in the morning! Had a really busy week in work too, should be quieter today but who knows?
Got quite a bit done last night with the view to being out most of the weekend, but with the amount of rain we had yesterday and forecast for today and the weekend, I can see us staying in!
Songratulations ColleenPamela, house moving can be straightforward then! We will probably have to move with DH's job next year (although they've been saying that for 2 years now lol) and I'm desperate to get out of this house, but now I'm dreading the amount of carp we will no doubt get when we put this on the market. Oh well!
Cup of tea, then shower and ready for the off - see you all later!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Good Morning Messies!
DS up since 2am feeling a little tires and irratable now;) OH got to bed very late after working an 18hr day. He was really nice and chatty MEN!? can't fathom them out!
Sticki Nikki Happy Birthday for this weekend  yes, it may be a big one (it was min last year) you find you do become reflective wondering what if. Your Mum wouldn't want you to be sad. I wrote a list, well two actually. Things I had acheived( even my Brownie hostess badge!) and a list of things I'd like to do/see before I die!!! I'm planning a hot air balloon ride and to see the pyramids. If DH doesn't want to do anything, be upfront with him and calm and say it is YOUR 40th. You'd like to do something nice, pictures, meal, romantic walk etc. At least you're going to your Dad's which will be lovely. I'd call up a girlfriend and go out for lunch and have a jug of Pimms:beer: and treat yourself to a new top or something not very MSE but the sales are on so that is:money::bdaycake:Happy Birthday, being 40 is great. My OH went into a great depression when it was his and was painful to live with (no change there then!) Please don't be down big :grouphug:(dodgy group hug)
Hoping to be able to get DS in to nursery for an extra session I'm wanting to tidy the loft move stuff off bedroom floor into loft and make a space on bedroom floor for DD ready bed. I can't have another night like the last 2!
Will check in later with my progress. Happy cleaning:D0 -

Happy birthday Nikkie it really isnt bad being 40 . I remember when I turned thirty and that felt as if the world had ended. Im 41 now and it doesnt bother me. I decided that when I was forty Id ditch anything that made me unhappy or stressed me out. I dropped a so called freind who only wanted my company when her life was in meltdown and was never there when I needed support. Also I learned to say no and put my wants and needs in front of others. Although I do put my children first.
Look at this as a new start and embrace it.
Im waiting for outlaws to visit. Cleaned up before I went to bed . Didnt sleep as some idiot decided it would be a good idea to stand outside our house yapping in a loud voice to someone on his phone. Id gone to bed late and was tierd so couldnt be bothered to go down and tell him to move .
Painted my fridge and freezer. Look really nice. Hugs everyone.0 -
Yep - being 40 is great. Thoroughly enjoyed mine. Know what you mean about your mum tho - i lost mine 18 mopnths ago and miss her every day. But when i feel low about it, i can hear her in my head telling me i have to get on with it. It helps somehow - her still telling me off.
I am feeling a bit better about my mess. I have tidied the conservatory and, amazingly it has made me feel better. 2 cupboards left and the spare room and the office. I can't do much with the spare room and office until i sort my camera out so that i can ebay a load of stuff.I wanna be in the room where it happens0
