Not sure what we will be doing today - not much I suspect! We went to see Take That at Wembley last night - fantastic! Problems started at the end of the concert - a message flashed up that the Jubilee Line was closed so make alternate arrangements to get yourselves home!

So, you can imagine the thousands of people milling around the general area - next station was 20 mins walk away, then they were only letting a few people in at a time, we only just made the last train home - so what should have been a 1hr 10 min journey turned into an almost 3 hour one - and the trains were so hot! Mum was dog sitting for us so I was worried about getting back for her too. Suffice it to say we will not be doing any evening trips to Wembley again - this is the second time I've had severe problems getting back home from there at night. It's all very well 'the powers that be' demanding we use public transport and leave our cars at home - which we always try to do - but it's ridiculous when they then shut the system down and leave you stranded. We were chatting to people who had to get to Clacton and Colchester, and thanks to the shutdown, had no hope of getting there - it wasn't a case of getting out of the concert late either, just no transport available! Rant over!

I did manage to get my 0% credit card standing order sorted out online yesterday, so that was an achievement, got some washing done too -so today will be getting the rest of that done, bed stripped, sheets washed and new ones on, and the ironing to do. Possibly that dratted porch too!

I bought some bargain bizzy lizzies a couple of days ago so they can be planted - so much for a quiet weekend!

Hope everyone is well and has a nice productive (or restful!) day. :)

    Morning fellow messies

Hope everyone is feeling ok and hugs if you're not

    So far I have
    Taken DS to his Dads
Hung up 2 loads of washing
Put another load in the machine
    Washed up
    Sorted online banking
    Gulped at the overdraft
Taken DS mattress off and replaced with new one
    Made his bed
Taken 2 black bags of toys out of his room and replaced with the ones from the landing
    Skived about

Now going to have a coffee and a ciggie and then start on DD's room - shouldn't take too long I hope

    Catch up later

    The mess has got more!
Daughter back from Uni. Already have stuff from her flat she had in 2nd year and year abroad.
Upside is she is happy to be at home and her dad is over the moon. Job seekers next.... and miffle.... her car insurance has gone up BECAUSE she is unemployed and we live in a higher risk area than Uni.
Off to cut the grass.... and look at photos of her graduation.

M.E I sympathise with you, my son has come home from Uni for the summer. He had so much stuff in his house we had to hire a van to get his stuff home. Most of it is now taking up the lounge until he sorts it out. Still he has been accepted onto the masters course (they have to get a high enough grade in the second year to go on to the masters.) so in October it will all be going back again.

Trolly look after yourself and remember young children are very tiring and so don't be too hard on yourself. There are lots of us on this board thinking about you.

    Hi everyone :D

I have been very good today :j I have stripped and remade DS's bed (had to do it while he is away :D) I even cleaned his room, found loads of paper and 3 sarnies behind his bed
4 loads of washing done and on the line :D
I have even cleared the garden, it is a very long garden with a 10ft high stone wall so I have to strim it when I cut the lawn so you can just imagin the mess Im in when Im done :rotfl:

I have had a lovely cool shower and I have even put a dress on :rotfl: so no more cleaning for me today :o

I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather and taking it steady.

I am heading off to read the flyldy thread but just wanted to say that I am sooo relieved to read I am not the only person in this messy house getting me down scenario! I work full time and have a husband, 4 kids and a cat. Nobody else lifts a finger in the house unless I go into total meltdown and start screaming at them :o
I am on my way to start cleaning my daughters room while she is out so hopefuly will really manage to declutter it in there!

If you cut holes in the grow bags and put plant pots in the holes [about 6-9 inches tall] Make sure the pots have big holes in the bottom and then put your tom plants in the pots they get a better root system and grow better - hope that makes sense and that I'm not teaching you to suck eggs - many apologies if I am

    Hi
I sorted my kitchen cupboards and everything is put away, did 2 loads of dishes, visited my mum - who made the girls lunch yay free meal for them, got my top up frozen food from Farm Foods and put it all away.

I did 3 loads of washing and OH put them on the line for me, did lunch for us and dinner for everyone.

My drawer for under the baby's cot came - our house is tiny and we had no storage for him - I saved £26 buying it from ebay so I built that. I out about 8 things on ebay too and one has already sold. :rotfl:

The girls are now watching gnomeo and juliet and I am having a quiet 5 minutes before I go and make some kind of dessert - I finished waitressing last week so this is my first Saturday night off since January (thats my excuse anyway lol).

I need to go and water my veg too it was boiling here today

Sounds like everyone had a productive day:T
