    Hello fellow messies

Thanks for the tip about propain (?) for the toothache. Sorry I can't remember who it was- had a bad night with littlies so brain is not working today! I am taking some quite strong stuff call Paramol from chemist which is pretty good but apparently highly addictive so you can only have it for 3 days  Today is my last day of this so may have to move onto something else tomorrow, we shall see.

Right Have this morning been shopping - bought all food, party bag bits etc. for DD party this weekend. Just collected DS from pre-school so now having a bite of lunch then will hopefully get some bits done while he naps.

House looks awful. Upstairs and lounge pretty neat and tidy after mammoth clean the other day. Kitchen/diner/playroom/utility all look like there's been somekind of house party gone wrong. Contents of most cupboards are on the floor! CLoakroom also needs a clean. Oh and I need to put some washing out as 2 wet loads in the basket won't dry themselves!

On the decluttering side, I posted a book i've sold and also a letter which I was meant to do about 2 weeks ago :o

It makes me feel a little better, realising that although I seem to be surrounded by people who manage to keep their houses immaculate (tidy and clean) that there are people like me who don't.

I'll never be the best housekeeper or the tidiest person ever. I'm a hoarder and the rest of the family aren't tidy either. However I've been depressed on and off for years and when I go through a bad patch I struggle to do anything at home - empty the dishwasher, do the washing etc etc. So things go from bad to worse.

I've actually been signed off work for a few months as a result of the depression and the house is in a terrible state. I've been feeling a little better recently and have been managing to do some sorting but this week it's overwhelming me again. It just feels like one step forward, two back. I'm struggling to hold on to the picture of what it'll be like when it's tidy and we can decorate - because I don't know if I'll get there.

Hoping that next week I'll feel a bit better and will be able to get motivated and energised!

Hi everyone. Yippee the charity van picked up the nine bags, hobby horse, puppet show ,cups and dishes. Im now clear of some more clutter. The mens faces were a picture when they saw the amount. Anyway they should make some money for the animals as its all good stuff. Its a animal rescue.
Oh has got a face on as he couldnt find his camera. Had wanted to go into town to see the Freddy Mercury statue. Also stood in cat poo. Dont know which cat it was but one of them had pood on the landing. Anyway that was the final straw for him. Ill have to find the culprit as none of the cats have done anything like this in a very long time.
Caught another mouse that the cats were playing with. Poor thing. Put it in the park last night and it would not go. It turned its little self around to look at me and put its little paws up. God knows what people would have thought seeing me in pjs at 1.00 in the morning.
My spare room is almost clear now Iv got rid of stuff so Im making some headway.
Sounds like your making headway too crafty granny and Im glad the op has taken place now . At least now you can concentrate on getting him well .
    Take care everyone.
  • sounds like the decluttering is going on apace!

Craftygranny hope the baby makes a full swift recovery!

Toothache is dreadful, my OH is off to dentist this afternoon.

My messy cluttered house needs another "do" DD2 returned from glastonbury covered in mud with muddy washing and I had three buckets with things soaking in them.

Ive had a migraine this week so Ive not done as much as Id hoped to, just cut the grass on sunday and ironed and washed. Have posted out ten ebay parcels and bagged up a few things for charity. Need to list some more ebay, its all photographed and ready to do, but Ive not been able to face the computer on an evening... and havent had time as DS has been a little iffy.

We are going to tackle DD2 bedroom, and the cupboard of despair in my room next. We have another house we are doing up, and DD2 has stuff stored there, so that is all to tackle too!
    Trying to shift that debt!

It makes me feel so much better reading this thread, feel I am not alone. I too have been depressed in the past and think that this is the root of so much hoarding and building up of the big cleaning jobs. Where I have a few bad days, everything seems to need doing all at once!
I think little and often is definitely key.

I have managed to get so much more done this week than I normally would, just because of the pressure of relatives being over for the weekend. I just need to keep this amount up every week - watch out Flyladies, here I come! Yeah right! Did try flying a few times in the past, generally gave up after a day or two, it's just too fast paced for me!

Right I have managed to hang out washing, fold dry washing, load and put on DW, washed up bits that couldn't go in DW, another load in WM, put some bits away in the garage.

Now looks like it's going to rain - sod the washing it can stay out until it's dry!

Have decided garage needs a major clear out. DH only cleared it out and in the winter but since then we have been v. busy with DIY and decorating which has meant more stuff piling up everywhere. Can hardly get in there anymore. In-laws are having the kids for a couple of nights during the summer hols so may convince DH to take a couple of days off work and help me clear out the garage and shed. There is loads to ebay in them too. So plan is to get all my ebaying and decluttering done and dusted in the house before then. This would give me a firm date to get everything done by so no letting things slide.

    Sorry for babbling on.

Right that's my tea break over. Have to go wake DS now, put folded clothes away, then collect DD. Have promised her a trip to the park if it's not raining so we may be a while.

Absolutely nothing achieved tonight, except the discovery that my latest batch of bites is from fleas, which appear to be on our living room carpet. Not sure how we got there, we've got no pets.

    Utterly livid. And itchy...

Hello everyone, I've not posted in a long while but I have been tackling my home :) I'm 5 weeks away from my due date now and nesting has kicked in big time. On top of the usual daily cleaning I have wiped down all doors, door frames, radiators, white appliances and will soon be tackling the skirting boards.

I gave my stairs a good going over aswell and what would usually be a 10 minute job turned into a 40 minute job and an hours rest on the sofa :o

I've decluttered quite a bit and only need to tackle upstairs now. I will be packing anything we don't need as we will be moving after our soon is born
