OMG scattymam1, your kitchen looks like heaven to me! Well done :D Though I know what you mean about keeping things tidy, it's really difficult. Can't imagine how difficult it would be with kids!

Went to the library and signed up for membership today - i've been bitten by the reading bug again, and though I was buying books from charity shops at £1/£2 a time which isn't bad, free is even better than that  Sadly this means i've done no housework today as I've just been reading! Almost finished one of the books already, and I've only had it since 3

My OH seems to have got the message when it comes to how tidy I want things to be. He's been suffering with hayfever over the past few days, and earlier I suggested that he have a bit of a rest from working on the PC as his eyes were streaming and stinging and all that, and he said 'I can't yet, I have to wash up' with this really sad face...I felt so bad but he did say he'd be in charge of the washing up :A teehee.

Anyway my kitchen is looking good, making a lovely homemade curry as I type :D

Hope everyone else had a productive day :D

Well done Scattymam your rooms look great ,now come and do mine, Ill pay the bus fare, lol .

Hart your kitchen sounds like mine. Im trying my best to keep it clean and tidy as Iv started a country kitchen theme and want to be able to sit out there. Also want the family to eat in the kitchen instead of having the tea in the livingroom.

    Still very warm here.

    greeting fellow messies -

of course I *still* haven't decluttered the conservatory but I found this

    cash for clothing

they'll buy your clothes for 50p/kilo and your books for 5p/kilo - i think I saw they bought DVDs too...

but it looks like they only come around between 9am-5pm, so no good for us who work!

Have just been reading everyone's posts - how I love this thread! You are all so honest and I feel cheered up no end. My major clean up/declutter/getridofmess is still continuing but as the skip has to go tomorrow, and I still have such a lot left, I think I'll have to order another one. Expensive business, but it's my own fault for hanging on to so much stuff. If I had the courage I would post a pic, but would be so embarrassed to show you all. Never mind, I have a picture in my head of what it's going to look like soon. Can't wait, but now I must go to bed. I am shattered, have been at it all day, and my old body is very weary.

Sleep tight all, hope it's not too hot and sticky.

    Evening all

Didn't get the bathroom done and didn't finish our room

I got sidetracked by a headboard - picked 1 up from freecycle t'other day and decided to have a look at the back of it this afternoon and see how hard it would be to recover it - couple of hours later and I did it!! First time I've ever attempted owt like that so I'm rather pleased with myself. We have a headboard but its pine and has no padding to it and I find it really uncomfortable to sit against when reading in bed, can't wait to change it over tomorrow

    Night all

scattymam1 - well done your kitchen looks so clean and tidy.

I managed to clean out the fridge, clean out the dishwasher - the seals were yucky and there were food splatters all over the kitchen units around it so I ended up wiping down all the kitchen units - bottom ones only!
Also cleared out and decluttered 2 drawers and 1 box in our BR which I've had on my mental to-do for ages. Ebayed a few items from there rather than add them to the ebay mountain.

All in all quite a productive day as had cleaned through upstairs in the morning too. I just hate that even if I do this much in one day, the list seems to get longer.

    Plan for today -

-Call dentist and private med ins to sort out my still very painful teeth - anitibiotics don't seem to be helping:(
    -Finish cleaning downstairs
-Take DD to introductory day at schoool - starts in Sep this is an intro morning
    -Washing
    -Get last nights washing dry
-mealplan and shopping list ready for shopping tomorrow

Extras - if I get this all done and have some energy left!

    -freezer + cupboard inventory
-ebay few more bits - have photos ready
    -Ironing
    -set a carboot date

Right shower, kids dressed and brekkie to get started
