Hi all. Helen can you not put the new tiles over the old. Im sure I read somewhere that you can do this. I stayed up until three this morning cleaning the kitchen, livingroom, bathroom, hall and daughters room. Dont know why Im doing things at odd hours but at least the place was presentable this morning.
Iv got to do the stairs as one of our cats is still moulting big chunks of fur. We have a stairlift so its getting into all the crooks and crannys. Also have to do the bird cage as it looks like a bombe went off in there.
Scattymam your kitchen is tidy compared to what mine looked like last night. My dd room was a mess when I looked in last night. I thought the clear out would help her be tidy but it seems not. Iv just bought her a new lamp as she broke hers again.
We are meant to be saving for our holidays but son just wangled an ex box game out of me. Iv told him he will have to do extra jobs . Should have seen his face. Mind you he does help when asked.
Going to pay some bill in the morning and that will have to be the end of going near the shops. The main shopping mall for our area is ten mins walk away so it leathal for spending what you dont have.
    Have a good day everyone.
Mary we have coal dust that comes off the docks in Liverpool and Im forever wiping it off surfaces. I dont clean the outside windows much as they end up dirty in a few hours.

Candy :D I did think about cutting my lawn but it's usually a 2 hour job as the garden is so big and it is always left till the last moment so its starting to resemble a jungle. I did pull a few weeds but that just made my hands dirty so I gave up :rotfl:

Not long got in - we've had some rain and more to follow I think, it's pitch black out there now! DH is dog walking before it starts. When we got in we had a mad few minutes tidying and putting stuff in the dishwasher, sorting out bits and pieces - seems like the good habits are rubbing off lol! He's a diamond though, does our packups every day (and makes a better job of it then me!) and never complains about anything.

Best go and make a start on dinner - nice easy stir fry tonight! Hope everyone has a nice restful evening after all the hard work!
    :j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

It's a Glasgow phrase for a wee sleep you have before a night out! I adore disco naps!

Been quiet on the housework front today for me!
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
  • My house was gleaming at the weekend but only cos my girls helped me tidy up as I'd bought them loads of stuff in the Primark sale on Saturday. I'm starting to think that it might be worth doing either every week or every other week just to keep on top of things!!. It's like having 3 cleaners in!! I know it's bribery but it works!!

Thanks for all the comments saying 'it's not that messy'...my husband doesn't agree. He is a complete neat freak, constantly whinges about my messes, thinks our house is a pig sty, etc, etc, blah, blah. To be honest I have too many hobbies and interests to be thrilled by housework and when you have kids they play with stuff. I think he'd prefer if they just sat and didn't move, pfft!

Anyways, I cleaned up in time for dd coming back from school, but then made hm pizzas so made even more mess!!! Hubby would whinge if I went on the computer so I've waited til the kids were off to bed. I think the photo thing has worked for me mind as usually nothing gets finished. Don't think I've ever had an empty drainer in any of our houses. lol.

My problem is keeping it this way, as now most people would keep on top of it, but I don't, I just let it get back to unmanageable again. I have to stop this like. I like it when it's tidy, feels better.

I also did the washing, and tidied the living room. Yeay.
