Thank you Hart for the advice :) Will get to that tomorrow, it's waaaaaaay too hot up there.

What is it with male volunteers? Why do they only want to do the fun stuff? Didn't even lift a finger to help me muck out and mop 10 kennels!

This is the last of 5 days off where i wanted to sort some stuff and generally potter about. In that time i have
    • sorted spare room and now have piles for charity shop / ebay / rubbish / relatives (either returning to them, or donating to them)
    • tidied some cupboards in kitchen - again large amounts in rubbish.
    • tidied out shed that god daughter and friend are going to paint for me this week as they have just finished gcse's and are at a loose end - most has gone in rubbish.
    • tidied and cleaned utility room, again most has gone in rubbish
    • tidied and cleaned conservatory
Tonight i am going to sort a drawer in the spare room to make room for some stuff from airing cupboard which is overflowing and as i air / dry washing in there i need all the space i can get.

    Left to do
    • cupboard under the stairs, has lots of things like odd crockery bits that have been there for years and i can make some storage space for an approved food - bulk buying order.
    • walk in wardrobe in our bedroom (not as posh as it sounds) which we can barely walk in to. :rotfl::rotfl:
    • office - drowning under a mountain of paperwork.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • I don"t know what has come over me but thought it best to go with it! I have completely cleaned and scrubbed the kitchen, brushed down 2 storeys of stairs with a handbrush and pan, cleaned the bathroom and filled a very large wheelie bag bin for the thrift shop! Oh, mopped the hallway, done 3 washes and hung them out. I will be knackered for the rest of the week but I'm determined to keep on top of things as my kids have started their summer holidays and things can get chaotic, even though they aren"t babies any more!!

Welcome to the messie club Lovely :D

Work was better than I expected, they had hardly anyone in today as it was hot, love the hot weather because the mums take the kids to the park and not the play centre :rotfl: so done early :j

I came home to a sink of washing up though

Colleen men don't do much :( we have a male wkend cleaner at work but he won't go over his 2 hours or bend down to scrub the floor and he won't clean the window sills  so I have to play catch up on a Monday and by Friday the centre is looking good again then it's his turn :(

I love the micro fibre cloths, I wipe my shower down every morning with one and it drys the tiles and tray with no cleaning products so its easier to keep the bathroom sorted even if the rest of the house needs working on :o I use them all the time at my other cleaning jobs so never sure why its taken me so long to use them in my house :o

Must be something in the air as everyone is doing great :D but dont wear yourselves out, it's only Monday :rotfl:
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

I treated myself to three microfibre cloths today! One pack for about £3 that has three different texture cloths in it. Scary thing is, I'm actually looking forward to using them! Going to crack them out tomorrow...may clean the tiles while I'm in the bath :p

So today I've managed to hoover, do most of my Avon deliveries, put a few books out, washed up and done a load of washing. The plan for tomorrow is to clean the bathroom, strip the bed, wash the sheets, clean the oven and put the rest of my Avon books out. Then off for another happy hour or so in the kennel and back home for a meal out with my sister and an evening with Lee Evans :)

Well done everyone, we're all doing so well :)

Don't know about where you all are, but it's still far to hot here in London to do housework. I've got one load of dishes soaking with the intent to wipe them over when the kitchn cools down (unfortunately it faces right in to the evening sun, so very much the wrong time of day to be in it!).

While hubby was de-waxing his ears (priorities!) I whizzed around the living room with a carrier bag clearing out all the rubbish and recycling (piles of drinks cans). Well, it's a start, and I'm letting myself off lightly because I'm still on antibiotics, which has really thrown my stomach out (any excuse :rotfl:)
In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!

Hi new and old cleaning goddesses. I got some good news today my blood sugars are back to normal levals, I think my gp was suprised. Hopefully keep it up and not get diabetes.
Another suprise today ,son brought the cat whos fur had been cut by dd and one side of her whiskers has been cut, Daughter was told in no uncertain terms that this was cruel and the cat needed whiskers to keep her out of danger. I dont know what has got into her of late as she is being so naughty. Anyone else with an eight year old who is scissor happy.
Iv done little today. The weather has been weird, in the morning it was red hot then later on windy and chilly , then rain and now its hot.
The charity van driver was meant to ring today to arrange a time to collect but no call. Iv six binbags of stuff sitting on the landing so Ill have to ring again. Iv still got the cellar yet and Im dreading it. Hopefully Ill buy less in future and avoid the clutter.
Anyway take care everyone and big hugs.

Moning all! Did anyone actually get any sleep last night? it was so hot and humid here I feellike I've been awake all night. :( Didn't get any of the rain/storms we were promised and it's still muggy and horrible now!

Got in last night and ironed both loads I'd done in the morning, it all got put away for once. Living room is starting to look better every day now - apart from the dog burying her raw chicken wings in the sofa throw - that was a surprise yesterday as I straightened it up! :rotfl:

Not sure what I will get done tonight - I did sort some bottles to take to the recycling today and thought 'Oh no, the porch still needs doing!' so if I get a rush of blood to the head that's always a possibility!

Hope everyone has a good day and that it cools down a bit! :D
    :j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Rigsby you should be ashamed of yourself using that sort of language on a public forum. It's one thing using the housework work, but the E word, shameful......:rotfl::p

I bow my head down in shame and promise i won't ever use that "E" word again :silenced::silenced::rotfl:.

snookey are we all cleaning goddesses now:D:T. Many things i can be called but a cleaning goddess is not one of them :rotfl::rotfl:, my house is the pits BUT having said that i have got off to a good start this morning and have promised myself to have finished tidying the kitchen before tonight :A.
I'm glad you blood sugars came back at normal levels :).

I think i shall go and read a few more posts on this thread for the insperational kick up the butt i need :j.

Have a good day Messies (or should that now be cleaning goddesses :rotfl::rotfl:)
