Morning Messies - I intend to do commersial break cleaning today - the house needs gutting and the enormaty of it is enough to stop you even starting.
So there is hot water in the sink and the dishes are soaking, there is a washing in the machine and another to be done, their is bleach in the loo and spray on all the surfaces and there is a good film on the telly.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xxx

This is how i feel buddingblonde 'the enormity of it is enough to stop you even starting'.

I wish i could get to the point where it only took 5 mins to straighten things up, but it never does, i have piles everywhere, i am constantly decluttering, when does it end:eek:

I want to a domestic goddess but HATE housework.

Haven't read this whole thread but am loving the banter, hope you don't mind me popping in x

Hmm, i wish i could be like that but i eat when its hot, eat when it's cold, when i'm bored, when i'm happy, sad, depressed, excited, angry, the list goes on and on ....no wonder i'm over-weight :(......i need some more of this

    rigs

Rigsby you should be ashamed of yourself using that sort of language on a public forum. It's one thing using the housework work, but the E word, shameful......:rotfl::p

Trying to get motivated today. I did mountains of washing and ironing yesterday and have another load to pop out when it's finished.

Also the bed needs changing. I love getting into a freshly made bed but the actual doing it is horrible.....boo hoo.

I think an afternoon filling a bag for the charity shop lies ahead too.

    Have a good day all.

    oops sorry - hello scattymam

Snookey - you were reading my mind about Xmas - mine are getting none of the carpy stuff they got last year and I'm setting them a limit of how much will be spent - they can choose to go just over that amount knowing they won't get everything but not really knowing what they will get from the list - hope that makes sense

Oh this is so right. We sorted out my eldest sons bedroom cupboard over the weekend and there was so much stuff in there that had hardly been out of the boxes. Mainly stuff that family members have bought him for Christmas.

Well we did our car boot - made £70 in total which I was pretty happy with (only £15 was mine because I have sold a lot of my stuff on ebay). Brought quite a bit back so we are going to go again.

I am so determined to keep going with this. Its really hard work though and at the moment I seem to be making things worse rather than better with piles of car boot stuff and rubbish to go to the tip! Oh well better get on and do some more and better get some normal housework done - really should be ironing but its too hot!

I'm a seriel messy offender, can I join the thread?:rotfl:

Our old house was overrun with clutter. We got rid of almost half of what we owned when we moved, and the difference is noticable - plus we have more storage at our new place.

BUT - still can't get out of old messy habits. We have piles of dirty dishes by the sink more often than I would like (especially in this hot weather - eek!), laundy gets done when it's urgently needed, and we still have to do a made dash of cleaning and tidying if we know someone is coming round!

If I could get DH to do more than bare minimum (heck, if I could get him to do as much as bare minimum) it might help :p
In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!

Well I have made a positive start today and I got the bathroom cleared of clutter and the upper hallway cleared. Now I am going to start on the bottom hall and get the whole thing hoovered.

The bath has been covered in detergent and is just waiting to be rinsed off and I have the glass cleaner ready to get the mirrors done. I must be heading in the right direction as my DD walked into the bathroom and said WOW what happened in here :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hi fellow messies :p this is my first post on here but i've been reading it for a while.

I've always had trouble keeping things clean and tidy - my poor mother used to go blue in the face shouting at my to tidy my bedroom :D Sadly it's a habit i've carried through to adult life, and now I'm living in my first flat with my OH away from home and the mess got so bad that I started crying every time I walked into the kitchen!

I'm really happy to say that I've completely cleaned the kitchen, living room and bathroom now and I do a bit of upkeep every day to keep it clean. it's had such a brilliant effect on my mood - I feel like I can truly attack the day and get work done (I work from home, as does OH) :D

Lets not talk about the bedroom though :rotfl:Bit ill at the moment so i'll leave that until I have the energy. I feel really down when I go in there at night to go to bed, it's so nice living in a mess free environment. I hope this lasts long :D
