Hi Helen.....I can't see your avatar....just info about sealed pot challenge etc. What am I doing wrong? I'm using firefox - do you think I ought to try on IE?

I think you have to go and click on USER CP - green bar at the top and then click on something else to see Avatars - just going to check now

    Helen

Under "settings and options" you click on edit options - scroll down and tick the box for showing avatars then scroll down more until you can click on "save changes" - if I've got it right everyone who has an avatar will be shown to you

If I've got it wrong let me know and I'll check it out again

    Hello Messies.
Helen Jelly you poor thing! You need  or wine or anything else on prescription for domestic emergencies!! Hart how is it back at work? BuddingBlonde welcome back we've missed you!! Still wondering where Taliamai is and grey queen etc.

Here at ExTrolly towers DS got prescribed Melatonin from sleep specialist. First night only woke once at 3.15 and slept until 7.10 which is unheard of!! :D Last night he was cranky all night and eventually I put an old quilt on the bedroom floor next to his cot but after an hour and a stiff back and shoulders gave it up as a bad job. Up at 5.30:mad:
DD birthday assembly this am very choked! My fairy godmother Angela from the childrens centre came this am. I was so upset because all our good works in kitchen from last week had been undone by my OH. When she left did some cleaning of storage containers that were grimy and went into loft to find stuff for their 1st birthday party tombola tomorrow. I always have a stocking filler box and a kids present box. The SF box has only got stuff in I've already given out( I buy things in sales and store them) so I've given a load to them and freed up a box in my loft:)

I need to get house a bit tidier as my sister and new baby are visiting on Saturday. She is a cleaning freak and even when she had her son 3 months ago she would leave him to scream whilst she finished her cleaning!! Going to have my tea/supper and go to bed OH is annoying me!!!

The first time I listed for selling I didn't know what I was doing...until I looked on the mse forums and founds a really good step by step guide to listing on the ebay forums. Gave brilliant advice too (when's the best time to list etc).....definitely worth looking it out and following the instructions! Hope you manage to sell loads ;)

Thanks for this will try to have a look at the weekend when hopefully I will have a bit of time to sort through things. :T

Having one of my insomniac phases so was on laptop at 3.30 a.m. so tired all day:(

Hart I think within reason wear what you are comfortable with. I'm nearly 60 and basically wear what I want - if people don't like it then it's their problem not mine :). DD actually borrows my jeans on occasion - I think my generation wore such outlandish things in the 60's that we don't care! Think of the poem 'When I am old I shall wear purple' sums it up really.

BB - so glad to hear the news about the job, but really sorry you sound as though you are having a really carp time.. HUGE CYBER HUG to you..if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have this mess of messies (is that a good collective noun for people who cba to do housework?)

Now can't get into the dining room for car boot stuff  just wish it would stop raining long enough to go and sell it.

OH has been wonderful keeping the house tidy, and my bedroom is much more liveable since DD helped me declutter at the weekend. Also cleared stuff out of living room, although it's still messy, it's better than it was. Ah well baby steps.....

    Hi Messies :D

I hate it when something you need breaks down Helen :( I still miss my TD but not got anywhere to put one now if I could get one :(

Yorkshirelass :D I have mostly jeans and white t-shirts in my wardrobe as Im not sure what to wear now Im getting older :o

:o inside I feel 25 but my body says no you are nearly 50 :rotfl:

Hope everyone is keeping well and doing those baby steps :D

Thanks hart this really cheered me up i only wear white t-shirts and jeans even to my daughters wedding last year although she insisted i didn't wear them so i cheated and wore black jeans not blue and put i pink check type shirt over a white t-shirt she was happy with that and i got away with canvas trainers cos my ankles and feet swell in the heat and when i stand too long its nice to know i'm not the only one that preferes t-shirts and jeans

i don't go out exept food shopping so i don't see the point of anything else and in winter i add cardies and vneck jumpers from the mens section they fit better and the V not too low down sounds like we are the same age although my 14 year old wears clothes i would not wear ever

i've been trying to do some clearing but its which room first ?? i cut the grass yesterday between the rain looks like a field a mess will have to do i do the grass like i'd vacumn a carpet till it won't cut anymore my daughter has been helping do the house but her idea of tidy is put it in the cupboard then when i go in cupboard looking for something stuff falls out i'd like things in cupboard too but we only have 2 wall cupboards and they are not very big and opposite ends of kitchen i'm going to start saving for 2 more we do need them i used to be so organised when kids were little but now i just can't get going most days getting there slowly since got tabs off doc she says i got depresion might of had it a long while with out knowing so hoping to get back how i used to be
1st ceck on house is next week i'm dredding it its not the official check but the ones before are to help me keep going so they can see how much better it is since last time and then going to set out a plan of daily tasks and weekly tasks and hopefully this will stop me from giving up if i have a bad day i hope it works so washing x4 loads since sunday grass hacked food shop done next is my room no way will i get it done in a day more like a week oh well i will make the most of tomorrow got doc need more tabs then post letter and
get milk if got enough my son accidently put pink milkshake powder in 4 pint carton of milk i usually get 2 on a wednesday so he thought we had another oh well never mind need to plan how to tackle my room i like the 3 boxes idea( sorry not sure who you are but thanks will def do this keep charity throw mmm might need 4 and a maybe???

Firstly, I have been reading all your posts and following Messies Anon, well, doing as much as I can. Was feeling quite postive this morning, even though I'd not slept too well, but was having a think about what the "to do" list. . It was bucketing down, I was in the lounge when I heard "drip....drip". When I looked up at the ceiling, there was a wee hole and a BIG drip falling steadily. I raced upstairs (as fast as any old person of my age can) and the ceiling has fallen in. My heart sank, as we don't use this room, and it is an ABSOLUTE TIP-really, really bad. I need to get it cleared, carpet taken up and all the ***** removed before I can get someone in. I am praying that there won't be a lot of rain. I am so stressed, but it's my own fault. Lots of excuses from me "oh I was just going to get the stuff removed"; but the main reason is there are spiders in there like tarantulas - awful . However, I've ordered a skip for the rubbish, and have made slight inroads into the mess, ignoring a few spiders on the way, and hope to continue tomorrow.

Hi everyone new and old. Iv just caught up with the posts. Hugs to those who need them.
    Today Iv been busy ,
Our room cleaned floor mopped, bedding changed,oh sweats like a pig ugh!,
    Bathroom mopped and cleaned,
    Washing put away,
Daughters room decluttered. I took out two binbags of rubbish, four binbags of toys and books & two binbags of clothing, Floor mopped, bed changed,
    Kitchen cleaned,
    Three loads of washing done,
    Dishes washed and put away,
Rubbish put out for bin men,
Quick tidy of livingroom and fed the animals.

Bloody knackered now but happy that Iv got so much done. Daughters room has got on my nerves for so long now that I finally decided to tackle it. Its not really her fault that it was hard to keep tidy as she had too many toys . Got rid of the tiny toys that you either end up standing on or they end up as clutter in a box.
Threw away bedding that she had got ink all over. Even found a pen in the bed. Hopefully with the reduction in toys her room will be easier to keep tidy.
Im going to phone a charity in the morning and get the toys ,clothes ect picked up. Iv gone past doing car boots and selling on ebay. I end up with the stuff cluttering up the house.
Hope everyone has a good day .
