  • Don't Panic!
I think we all could do with some help!!:rotfl:
As I survey my own various roomsssss of gloom (I like that Jackieglasgow!)I am quickly shutting the door, turning around and tomorrow I'm going to maybe tackle another SMALL area
If I plan to do lots then I end up doing nowt so I'm not planning anymore - anything done however small is a bonus:T
May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce:D
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:

I also have problems keeping up with jobs that need doing, live on my own with my 2 dogs. It isn't inside the house that is getting me down I do try and do as much as I can everyday, but it's my garden I can't cope with,It's quite a large garden with lots of shrubs and a few evergreens, but everything needs pruning as they are all merging into one another, I have loads of weeds and the lawn is looking worse for wear with the damned foxes.I used to be so proud of my garden spent £'s on it and hours and hours weeding , pruning and making sure everything was as good as it should be.Now I get thoroughly depressed just looking at it, I have made a start and lopped 2 trees down to stumps but the other problem is ,disposing of the branches, can't afford a skip or to pay someone to help me. I suffer from Arthritis in my hands which does'nt help things.
What to do? What to do?[/QUOT They will take them but they have to be in black bags which means I have to hack them down to a size small enough to fit, too many take forever to do this.

you could see if anyone has a wood burner for your branches, or our Envirocall does 4 free calls a year to collect garden waste etc, you could ring your local council to see if they will come and take them away.

Now and again we have a bonfire to get rid of garden waste. We usually do it in the evening and not on a hot day when everyone has their windows open.
That would be the obvious solution for me but, i have nowhere to have a bonfire safely in my garden.

I thought I was the only one like that and I didn't dare write it on here. I'm so glad you're like me! I could spend hours on the sofa or in bed in the morning, just thinking about what and how things should be done. It all looks great in my head, it's well organised, it even seems easy. And then........... I rarely find the motivation to get up and do these things :o

I haven't been doing a lot lately, apart from laundry. But I have to finish the desk area asap as I want to start under the bed soon

Regarding other people's perfect show homes... Do you remember this episode of Friends when Chandler discovers Monica's messy cupboard? :D I bet a lot of people have at least one cupboards they use for their secret mess :p

I have a tidy cupboard :o but it's never the one people accidentally discover :)

For the last two weeks I have been decluttering my bedroom, and even though progress is slow, this thread has been inspirational.

Since finances forced us to downsize a few years ago, the room has been home to the usual bedroom stuff as well as to my computer desk, chair, filing etc, my sewing and crafting gear and a few other miscellaneous bits and pieces. It's 12 foot by ten foot, with fitted mirrored wardrobes (stacked to capacity!) along one of the short sides, and a lot of the space in the room is taken up by the double bed. It would be a fairly generous size for a bedroom if it didn't have to be an office and workroom as well :)

I've sorted through the filing and paperwork, chucked out loads of lotions and potions that were past their best, decluttered my nail polish box and so far binned FOUR BLACK bags of absolute, utter rubbish. I've also rehomed a lot of other things, some by giving them to family and friends, and some by finding a practical use for them elsewhere in the house.

I have no idea how I've managed to jam so much stuff in here for so long and yet still manage to give anyone who came into room the (mistaken!) impression that there was a place for everything and that everything was in it's place. You'd think I'd already have freed up sufficient space to feel that it had made a difference, but not so. This morning I decided to go... Under The Bed... (gasp!), and having pulled everything out I'm now sitting typing this with my knees round my ears as there is no space left to put my feet on the floor until I've extracted the junk and organized what remains.

As I type, I'm also attempting to drink a coffee without putting my elbow through the monitor and am staring at the thirty or so pairs of shoes (two of which are unworn because I have been unable to see them until now and so had forgotten I had them) that are sitting on the bed and trying to decide if there's a way to store them in a space beneath it (anticipated size eighteen by ten inches) which would leave them reasonably accessible.

Anyone feeling alone with their clutter and embarassed because of it can relax. It looks like you'll be having my cluttered company for the foreseeable future :)

The only reason i had the guts to write it on here, was going through the clutter threads made me realise i couldn't have been on my own with my thoughts and knowing others houses weren't spick and span like i thought.

I done my bathroom and am pleased with what i got done but also
disgusted with myself as there was stuff in thier dated back to 2006 :o But i also found lots of stuff that i can now put on ebay and hopefully get a few quid for it :T:D. I even found some stuff i really hadn't realised i had (about 6 tubes of toothpaste, 3 toothbrushes, full tubes of dermalogica stuff that can be used).

    .

I am so pleased you put that Ida Notion, I had some stupid thoughts in my head that once i started to clutter a certain room i would have to stay with it how ever many hours it took, now i know i can go through my bedroom in a few weeks rather than in one whole go, that room is the dumping ground so i think it will take some time to do :o.
