  • Win the lottery and go out and buy a new house. Easy.
  • ha, would love to win the lotter and buy a house, but im one of those people who gets attached to things, not hoarding but a lot of stuff would have to come with me. Well today i have done 3 charity bags of clothes, cleaned half the kitchen (am about to go do th other half)hoovered the hallway, two loads of washing and im pooped!!!! But im determined to finish the kitchen, ive cleaned out nd washed the food cupboard and the fridge, have a bowl of water steaming my microwave to make it easy to clean and then im sitting down!! How have u all done today??

    Love a very tired princess
  • OMG - how many people have joined our wee band of cluttered messy b*ggers!!!
Well for the second day in a row I have come home from work pooped. Will do something before bed (but god knows what!). Does clearing my cookies count?

Princess - well done!!! You are going great guns! Put me to shame.

Rigs - my kitchen cupboards are like the land that time forgot - I have jars and packets that are pre 21st century Im sure!! Gulp - that is one job I am not looking forward to.

Ida - how liberating was it to get rid of four bags of rubbish - I know that packing my stuff for the charity shop was like a weight has been lifted - just need to get them there now!!!!

Ellie - all my cupboards are like monicas messy cupboard - and all my drawers!!! I could do with a wee touch of OCD. Would do my house the world of good.

Xanth - if you happen to know the winning numbers I would love to win the lottery. Not greedy, 5 numbers and the bonus ball.
PurpleCB - never a truer word has been said - "If I plan to do lots then I end up doing nowt so I'm not planning anymore - anything done however small is a bonus:T ". I will be using this philosphy myself.

Clearing your cookies and emptying your inbox does count. :D I did this recently - over 8000 messages :o and unsubscribed to all the nonsense one, and now am back in control of my inbox :) My kitchen table is clear :j I am only doing a wee bit tonight as I have had a busy afternoon and some upsetting news, and feel like chillaxing. I shall empty a box of paperwork whilst watching TV :)

  • Sorry to hear that you have had upsetting news - nothing like bad news to knock you off course. But paperwork while watching tv - think I might dig out mine now - even if it is just a box file that would be great.
    Off for a rummage x
  • oh no jackie (((((hugs))))) nothing too bad i hope. I fully agree on clearing cookies being essential decluttering activity, in fact im goin to give it a go myself in a min. I am absolutely shattered, but am determined that tomorrow, im going to gut the living room!!!! My dh keeps asking if im getting ready to leave him or am i pregnant and nesting lol. Bless him!!!! Wish me luck for tomorrw, i think its going to take all my energy.xxx
  • Princess - why not break the living room into parts and do them over the day rather than going flat out.
eg - empty surfaces, rest, dust, rest, hoover, rest x
Good luck! You could do each task in half an hour and maybe do 2 in the morning (with a break inbetween) and 2 in the afternoon,.
  • will give that a try, wont wear myself out then, thanks for that.xx

That's great advice. I tried to do everything in one go with the kitchen and the office area and I felt like crying and giving up. Baby steps all the way for me too :D

I absolutely love this thread. I follow the Great de-clutter thread too but I can't keep track of everything I throw away: there are too many things and I can't list them all
  • Well I did get something done today - the snakes now have nice clean vivaria. Although I live in a complete mess I like to make sure that they don't have to - after all they didn't chose to have a messy cluttered owner.

One load of dishwashing done as well, flitted in and sorted a bit of paperwork but quite honestly didn't get a lot done today. Still baby steps, and each paper filed is one less to be a mess.

I do like the idea of not planning, as this suits me much better - can suddenly be inspired to do housework late at night which definitely isn't something you would plan.

Virtual hug for Jackie having bad news can really knock the stuffing out of you - take care hun.
