Rigsby I like the idea of doing a bit of de-cluttering on bin day. I will try it tomorrow and see if it works.

Hart - glad your stiches are out and poor DD - my dog surfs the carpet too when he's had a bath, he also side rams the doors!!
Parsnip - not long to go now, it does sound like your nesting instincts have kicked in though!!
Been busy today - went food shopping with DH, cam home and put it all away, had food, decided that as the shredder is broke I would be really naughty and have a little bonfire in the garden to get rid of all the paperwork - OMG, there was smoke everywhere!! still its done now but I think I might invest in a new shredder, I've also hoovered the Kitchen, hall and stairs but was interrupted by school phoning to say DD was unwell and could I go and get her, theres nowt wrong with her!!! She'd got hot and just needed a drink and to sit down for 5 mins - letter going in with her tomorrow to tell them to do that next time!! Now I have to go back to other school to pick up DS [DD wants to go but DH has just offered]
Off to declutter the coffee table now - I may be some time

Hi everyone. Iv had quiet a productive afternoon giving the kitchen a spring clean. The units seem to cling to every bit of dust and grease. Its sparkling now. Dont know how long that will last with my messy lot.
Im having a sit down before I put the bags ,yes bags ! of laundry away. There was a mountain of towels, clothes and bedding on the kitchen side so I bagged them up and took up stairs. Had visions of one of us found buried under a clothes mountain, lol.
My dd has trashed her room so thats going to have to be spring cleaned. Im determined that whilst Im in a more positive frame of mind Im going to plough through the house.
Id like to get the kitchen painted this weekend. Its a big job as its a big kitchen. Every room in this house means a big job as its got high ceilings so it takes a few days. Wish I had the money to pay a decorater.
Do other people have stuff they dont need but just keep. Iv mounds of stuff that I dont know what to do with. I feel guilty when I throw stuff away even though I can not give it away . For example I have quilts that have seen better days but I keep. Iv countless scissors that are blunt, mops that are broken and carrier bags that I buy to use again and then dont . I really need to start throwing things away.
Ill pop in later and catch up on everyone. Take care.0 -
Hey Messies,
I've had a very unproductive week. Was on a holiday and since I've been back, there hasn't been a lot of cleaning action. Think it's to do with tiredness and general lazyness. Sometimes I feel that I'm always doing cleaning or cooking and this leads to days where I just can't be bothered.
On the other hand, I did do 2 classes at the gym yesterday and today I've been Health and Safety training so I'm pooped! Also planted out our tomato plants yesterday evening - it's a first attempt at growing!!
Right, I think I'll get on with some ironing, then maybe catch up with what I've missed on the thread. Hope you're all ok xx0 -

Quilts can be given away - try the vets or the local animal rescue centres0 -
Hi fellow messies,
I just popped on her to say I finally got my butt in gear and shifted three boxes of outgrown children's clothes from the conservatory (aka the dumping ground) to my car for my work-mate whose son is 18 months old.
Flushed with success i then took another box out of the conservatory (dumping gorund) and shuffled through the magazines and chucked them in the recycling.
and then moved the plants that are cluttering my kitchen windowsill to the half landing windowsill and cleaned the kitchen windowsill.
found some chili peppers with seeds in so split them and kept the seeds. Note to self should wear gloves as chili in my eye stings a bit.
It's a start!
Tomorrow I will have a look in another box from the conservatory to see if there is anything worth keeping and toss out/recycle what I don't want. baby steps indeed.
resting now.

Thanks for the tip Gilly.
Iv cleaned the two livingrooms thick with dust. We get coal dust so Ill blame that and not my lack of cleaning, lol . I have filled a binbag full of rubbish from one of the livingrooms, sorted out my bills into a file , hoovered, cleaned the bird cage, he is a parakeet and loves destroying things so you can imagine the mess. Stripped our bed and tidied the room. Iv done the washing and washed up the tea things. All the shelving unit and fireplaces are cleaned.
The funny thing is I still feel full of energy. Im off to make our bed as it needed time to air thanks to sweaty oh.
Hope I feel as enthused for the rest of the week .0 -
Hi fellow messes, I'm still not feeling well so cleaning etc has been kept to a minimum. I did get three loads of washing done and dried yesterday. Decided to do a Sainsbugs order as I had a voucher so that arrived this morning. Sad to say that the fruit and veg are still in carrier bags in the kitchen and spare stock cupboard groceries in bags in the bedroom because I still haven't got round to clearing out a double cupboard which has alsorts in not least a million carrier bags. I did do a quick clean of the washbasin and loo this morning and wiped down some cupboard doors while waiting for my porridge to do.
Welcome to all newbies.
