I think the stars depend on how many posts you have made (only guessing as I haven't seen this written anywhere). Glad you had a good birthday Helen - bet you will get lots of use out of your strimmer.

Lots of cooking happened today with varying amounts of success, pasties made for lunches and bread which looks a bit odd so am hoping it's alright. Tried to make lemon meringue pie with leftover pastry, lemon curd and some egg white and sugar it was a bit flat and runny but tasted OK (I don't think you can guess how to make this and using a recipe would have been a good idea ;)).

Working tomorrow so spent part of today sorting out IT kit to make sure it's functional (which it was eventually) so fingers crossed it will be OK.

Will load dishwasher before I go to bed, but that will be about it for today.

No housework done at all today, I havent even had a drink since this afternoon:eek: Instead I have been beavering away writing blogs, updating LinkedIn and getting a second twitter account..and I have been busy admiring my new Company paperwork:cool:. I was cursing that I couldnt find a box file but remembered I had some wedding stuff in one which I have now turfed out and the Company paperwork has gone into the file which has gone onto the shelf:j Usually, I tend to leave papers everywhere and probably never look at them again but this time I have been a bit more organised.

You wouldn't think that I would be able to organise anything but its my job and I love to organise other people, I just can't organise my own papers and housework:rotfl:

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow, I shall be signing off now and raiding the fridge for cold lamb chops and maybe I will have a mug of coffee too.

    Evening all :)

Well after a rubbish night last night and a bad start this morning, im now feeling failry good. After cleaning up all the poo i was stressed at the mess of the house so i went out to see my mum. When i got back something clicked, so i didnt let the kids put the tv or anything on and we all started cleaning and clearing....i set the kids onto the living room while i did the kitchen. I now have an empty sink and sides that have been scrubbed!! I even moved all my kettle toaster and little bits and did underneath them :) The only thing that needs doing in there now is the floor....altho i first have to finish getting through the washing lol. The kids did great in the living room and cleared all the floor of toys and the sofas of general hoarding!. I then moved onto the dining room, got rid of my ironing pile, took all the clothes away, cleared and swept the floor and decluttered my table and computer table.

So i now have lots of room to actually walk through the downstairs of my house, so im sat watching spartacus with a smile on my face knowing that altho its not spotless, its clean and tidy enough for me :)

Upstairs next :( lol Altho to be fair its only my bedroom and the landing, the kids rooms and the bathrooms are tidy so not all bad

I also managed to sit down for an hour with my oldest and do some mathletes exercises with him (he is really behind due to struggling with his letters and number, they think he is dyslexic but say they cant test yet) and we finally managed to get him to his first award (most of the rest of his class are on the 7th) so he also went to bed really happy!

Welcome to the new messies, we will beat these houses together lol

OMG.....I'm glad to be sitting down, cause I haven't stopped since yesterday morning...
Saturday I had a lovely manicure (well... falsies put on, hey whose counting) and lovely twinkle toes applied... then him indoors and I went to Lakeland to buy some foil dishes.
Then Sunday morning HWTHSBO and me went to the meat wholesalers and Mr T and I spent the rest of the day cooking. As a result I now have a freezer full of meals ready to go into the oven at a moments notice.... NO MORE TAKEAWAYS!!!!!!
Anyway, I'm a little proud cause instead of letting all the meat go to waste (by not cooking/freezing it) I did what I planned to do and I've just finished tidying up the last of the mess (and the last of the meals put in the freezer)
Soooo... I think I've done my share and before I really notice how dirty my kitchen really is, I've come to sit down....
    Anyhooo, love to all

Hi new and old messies. Well I went out with oh to Asda to get a big shop. The depression is still hovering but I know that I need to push myself or Ill give in, and thats not an option.
I cleaned the kitchen, sorted out the pillows and other rubbish that son had stored under his bed. Three pillows in the bin. Cleaned the microwave out ready for freecycle. Its heating up and defrosting but the table is not turning. Hopefully be of use to someone . Bought a new microwave from Asda for 39.00 on sale. Its not a top of the range but great for what we need.
The baby and the poo reminded me of my youngest brother when he was moved into my room. The room had just been decorated and the dirty little sod was found smearing poo all over my new wallpaper, cot and inbetween his teeth, ugh!. My son used to do a poo behind our couch. Its a good job we have wooden floors. Oh and daughter in sunny Spain by the pool decided to smear poo all over herself and the pram. Mind you that was my fault as I forgot to put a nappy on her after swimming. The worst part of it all was that we could not get the smell out of the pram and still took it on the plane. Iv got lots of tales about kids and poo but Ill stop now.
I dont envy people with small children as they are a lot of hardwork but it does get easier, well in some ways, lol. Mind you there is nothing nicer than a sleeping baby in your arms.
Well done to those who have been baking. We are trying to go the healthy route by not buying sweets, cakes and other fat laden products. Iv told dd and son that they will have to go the shop if they want sweets. Hoping that they will decide to have fruit instead.
Im of to bed have outlaws coming tommorrow afternoon so will need all my mental reserves.
    Take care everyone.

    Hi to all Messies,

I'd like to join you, me and my house of mess. I've been a lurker for a wee while now, I can read a bit of myself in your posts. I had great plans to get organised at the weekend but of course I let other things get in the way. I fell asleep reading my DD her bedtime story. Woke up at 11.30pm and didn't get back to sleep till 4.30am:mad:. while I was awake I did get up and sort out my ironing:).

I haven't been quite a lazy as normal today which is good. Did all of my ironing (not put away yet), tidied kitchen put tea in slow cooker (kitchen back looking like normal mess again). Made a start on DD toys (she wasn't very good at helping)

So before I go to bed I'm going to tidy the kitchen a bit, put some washing on and a wee tidy round the LR. Hopefully that will get me on a good start tomorrow. Got to go round to my mums tomorrow to do her hair so I'm hoping that my DD will want to stay a bit longer to play a her grans so I can do a bit more.

Hope you all have a good day tomorrow and we are all feeling positive.:D
I love MSE freebies and comps. Thanks posters

I leave for a few days and end up really far behind! It'll take me hours to catch up with all the post I've missed...
