Taliahmai - What a start. I'm sure it will be one of the things you laugh about in years to come, especially when she comes home with a lovely boyfriend.

Good Afternoon messies.....and
Happy birthday Helen Jelly
Hope you all had a great weekend....
Didn't get a lot done over the weekend, hubby decided we were going to Newcastle for a Charity Rock 4 ALL gig... loads of up and coming bands Rock and Blues.... and i couldn;t say no could I, so we made a night of it and spent the night in a hotel.......(no washing up)
Came back yesterday to a reasonable tidy house and a shiny sink....
So this morning, just seemed to have potted around, tidying as i went.....going to give it 15 mins more before i start putting up my pack tea, then off to work......
Have a great day folks...

Sorry Princess
I forgot to say I hope your MIL is feeling better, I know how you worry about mums as my OH's mum is not in the best of health but I can't go see her as she fell out with me and we had a very big row over the comment she made about my OH (he would talk to her for a year) but I push my OH to go see her at least once a month as I think it is not all her fault she is not in the right mind any more
ParsnipI agree with you, I have recalled many of the embarrassing things my DD did when little and she hates me for it :rotfl: but Ive told her its payback :rotfl: and one day she will do the same with her family and that me and my sisters still get our mum reminding us of what we got up to when little
It is just a shame at the time it does not feel funny
As for paintingI started my kitchen last summer school hols and I still have not finished it

Hi fellow messies. Had a good weekend, cleaned bathroom, kitchen and even sorted out the fridge!!!!!!!!!! Also did some ironing:eek:
Not done much today as late back from work, the boss had us de-cluttering cupboards. It was lovely to throw out all the tat but I wish I could be that motivated at home.
Hugs to all those who need them and hope you had a great birthday Helen.:T£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Was woken up at 2am this morning by a migraine, but too tired to get up and take drugs... No idea where it came from (they are mostly hormonal or food related but I've been good) so by the time I woke up properly (7.45am) I was done for. rang in sick and had a Full On CBA day today.
Took kids to school, then went back to bed. woke up at 1pm to go to osteopath, got fixed then mooched round Wilkos for rain barrel (wrong ones in stock), mooched back home, slept on sofa until time to collect kids from footy practise, got home, watched Secret of Moonacre on DVD (Lovefilm), HWTHMBO came back with tea (fish & chips off the van), he put kids to bed, I'm on here now (love that I can adjust brightness of screen). Off to bed now.
Tomorrow's another day...

Hi all
Would it be OK if I joined in too please?! I have read the whole thread from the beginning over the past week or two and feel like I kind of know some of you already from your posts, its OK I am not really a stalker ! I have so much in common with a lot of you, my house is a tip .... no one room is clear and tidy, or even clean .... well they are hygenic enough but all you messies know what I mean dont you.... I am not sure really what has caused it all to get so bad, but the worse it has got the more there is to do and I just leave it ... we have a decent size house but most rooms are just dumping grounds, each and every room needs clearing, decluttering and sorting...
Our family consists of me, OH and DD who is 17 plus 2 cocker spaniels and 7 cats, I guess all those pets dont help with the mess but I am a terrible hoarder too and quite disorganised ... DD and DH are not very tidy either so its not just me! I only work part time, suffer with back problems, migraines of late (probably my age...) and pain in my knee from a fall last year . I have been , since I have been reading through this thread, trying to have a different approach and congratulating myself on some very small achievements - I have made a start on clearing some stuff near and around my desk and as soon as I come across something that can be Freecycled I have been doing that instead of my usual plan of bung it in a bag and deal with it 'one day'. I have sorted out some piles of paperwork, etc in the lounge and have thrown away about 4 bags of recycling over the past week or so too. Definitely going to follow the idea of 'baby steps' !
Anyway apologies for the LONG post but I wanted to introduce myself, thank you for hopefully letting me join in !
Oh and Helen glad you had a nice birthday !0 -
Hi APlaceinthesun and a big welcome!
You have done what I did, read it all and then joined in.
We've all got varying degrees of messiness at anyone time. Domestic disharmony and CBA days get in the way of mine and I daresay quite a few of the others. It is all babysteps, cheer yourself on and reward yourself, as was suggested by a very wise post (sorry can't remember who!)
Quite a few of us seem to have health problems both temporary and long term. A lot of us seem to suffer from reoccuring CBA syndrome:rotfl::rotfl:
It's a lovely place to be glad you found us. Dull women have immaculate homes!0 -
Hi fellow messies. Can someone answer me a question please? I now seem to have a star next to my user name. Why? What did I do to get one? I've tried looking on forum rules etc and can't seem to find anything.
Done nowt today took DS to see a specialist for his sleep have washed up and managed to book car in for tyres and brakes in morning. Tomorrow is another day!!0
