My home is a mess

Well, organising is beginning to work. Insisted DD put her laundry on last night so it could be pegged out this morning - she has a habit of doing washing at the last minute and using TD when not necessary
Not sure what weather is doing, v. windy which is good for drying but clouds look like rain (which forecast doesn't mention).
Study still needs a bit of a tidy and will get hoover out today and go over floors again. Things are beginning to be less cluttered, but still plenty of ecological flytraps around (these are for my fave spiders who live in my study/spare room) sorry to those who don't like them but I'm a real fan of spiders after I did a college project on them. Really are amazing creatures.
Now going to hound OH to get his laundry sorted so I keep on top of it, then more tidying and sorting - don't have a list as I have a thing about them.
Have a good day fellow messies (btw - if someone actually becomes a non messy, do they have a graduation ceremony to move to the flylady thread)

Something wierd has happened to me...I seem to have caught a cleaning bug:eek: I tackled the oven with the gloop that I got ages ago from Lakeland - it took me 10 mins to open the flippin' bottle:o. In the week, I unblocked my drains with some industrial strength gloop from the hardware shop.
Last night, I decided that I would continue tidying my office and getting rid of all the wedding mags - no point in keeping them when I no longer organise weddings. The recycling bin downstairs is now a third full of old papers and old magazines. I can now see the floor. There is still more to be done and I need to move the tall cabinet around and then I plan to move my desk to the front of the window.
I have started small by doing the smallest room first, I have also made a start on the living room but need to tackle the bedrooms.
Housework wise I am like my late grandma, she hated doing it to the point that all her wooden doors got covered with board so that she didnt have to clean the panels. Mum on the other hand is fairly obsessive about cleaning and I think that over the years I have become anti cleaning. I was pretty much fine until 2007 when I became very depressed and was made redundant and since then it has been an uphill struggle to get back to being a fairly tidy person. If I could just get it done then that would be fab because then it would stay fairly tidy.
Actually dumping old magazines and papers has been very therapeutic today, I need to get rid of a bag of horror dvds that twitface left here (twitface being an ex who could be charming one minute and evil the next...good riddance to bad rubbish). Music magpie don't want them so I shall have to find another way to get rid.0 -

knittingcathy wrote: »Good morning, I have been lurking for a while and now would like to join you as my house is a mess. I have 4 children so there are 6 of us in a 2 bedroom so space is at a premium.
I was lying in bed this morning just thinking what I had to do just to get the kids ready for school and get them ready for today before I go to work at 6pm and it made me tremble, and thats not even the house so thought about baby steps, so have unloaded Wm and reloaded ready to put on when everybody gets out of bed, folded clothes into basket ready to go out on line have cleared kitchen table so I could sit there and type this.
Right next step is sort and iron clothes for today, for school tomorrow and for me for work. Then wash all the dishes. My reward half an hour knitting.
Hope eveybody has a good day and take care.
Welcometo the messies crew
I thought I had it bad living in a 2 bed with 4 of us (DD 17, DS,10 me & OH + little dog)
My biggest problem is negottiating the obstacles in my house before I even start cleaning:(.
I dread decorating my bedroom as it will take 2 days just to move the bags, boxes and crud before I start then it would have to all be put back each night unless I manage to complete it in one dayGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

By heck, this tidying-up is hard work. After about an hour of pottering about I have piles only 6 inches high on the table and can see most of the wood.
Sadly, most of the stuff has got no further than the bed and if I want to sleep tonight I shall have to get that clear, too.
Am now off to disembowel the bottom of the airing cupboard to get hold of something which I need to cut up and turn into something to contain the somethings on my bed.
 Oh, someone please come and rescue me from Real Life, it's exhausting....................Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
