If you fill your bath up with cold water put a cupfull of cheap washing powder in and leave for a few hours. The bath will be sparkling once rinsed.

I am DREADFUL with housework. Maybe I shouldn't feel comforted reading this thread, but I do. My mother is constantly tidying, polishing, rearranging things and I'm the complete opposite.

Insomnia and depressive phases don't help either!

What works for me is to put headphones on and listen to podcasts/radio/mp3s while I tidy up. Still hate it but it helps to distract me from the tedium.

Hi ladies, been reading for a while and thought I'd join - hope thats ok?
I try and keep the house tidy (its always fairly clean) but my toddler has other ideas about being tidy...!
LouLou - my mil is like that, although the other week I saw her door frames were dirty (very unlike her, I think she would clean all the stones on her drive if she could get away with it, she obviously has too much spare time!) I couldn't help but feel a little smug as mine had been done a few days before....
Today I need to: - Mop all downstairs (may do this tonight when dd is in bed), bake a ham, tidy again, sort everything ready for work tomorrow, sort packed lunches for tomorrow, water plants, do the ironing. I'm also trying to declutter everywhere so I will try and do at least another drawer.
The sun is shining so will also try and have a walk on the beach...

Morning Tootoo - welcome to the messies.
I am trying to get more done today but I really CBA - I wish I could just focus and get things done - it just seems like everything is taking enormous effort.
Must get the spare room sorted today for family visit - will need to wait until OH is up to help as I cant move the bed etc by myself. Hope he is up before 3 today (yes that was the time he got up yesterday - wasnt best pleased!!)

DD is at work today so 1 down :rotfl:

BB my OH is like that, weekends to him is to sit back and do nothing and will sleep all day if I let him :(

Hope everyone is feeling better today :D

Good morning, I have been lurking for a while and now would like to join you as my house is a mess. I have 4 children so there are 6 of us in a 2 bedroom so space is at a premium.

I was lying in bed this morning just thinking what I had to do just to get the kids ready for school and get them ready for today before I go to work at 6pm and it made me tremble, and thats not even the house so thought about baby steps, so have unloaded Wm and reloaded ready to put on when everybody gets out of bed, folded clothes into basket ready to go out on line have cleared kitchen table so I could sit there and type this.

Right next step is sort and iron clothes for today, for school tomorrow and for me for work. Then wash all the dishes. My reward half an hour knitting.

Hope eveybody has a good day and take care.

i couldnt be bothered to get the washing in last night and it rained over night :o am i the only one who does that all the time? :o

today i need to clear the kitchen and wipe it over. sweep and mop the the kitchen, bathroom and porch floor. hoover all round. peg out another load of washing and wash and hang out another.

it wont actually take that long to do.... it will take me longer to get started :o maybe i should start by getting out of bed  :rotfl:

:) Morning Messies! Hope everyone who was feeling poorly is feeling a wee bit better today.

:) I crashed into bed before 9 pm last night, just completely cream-crackered and no juice left in the engine.

:) I am sitting here looking at my table. At least, I am looking at a 2 foot tall tangle of misc stuff which is on my table. Starting to have an attack of the vapours just thinking about tackling it but it has been festering for about 2 weeks now (:o) and won't go away unaided. Sigh.

:) Gonna strip the bed, go out for milk and a bit of an airing then come back and do some de-cluttering and cleaning before lunch and up to the lottie.

:o At the moment my lottie shed is tidier than my living room, how bad am I?:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a lovely day and doesn't overdo it.

Hi everyone. Iv made a list of chores to do. Iv got a listof 16 jobs but Im not planning to do them all today. Killing myself doing housework is not on my agenda, lol.
I left the kitchen spotless last night get up this morning and chocolate cake bits all over the floor and side. Dd has been at the birthday cake.
Im going to have my coffee then start the jobs. See if I can do at least four.
