Well done Yorkshire lass. I know what you mean about facing the kids room if its like my daughters.I had to make a path last night just to get to her bed, lol.

Hello messies :beer::beer:
I've been reading your adventures. After my mammouth clear out and my friends visiting, apathy has set back in! I did finish my patio extension :j, but it's not been sunny since
Well its easy to see how things pile up - it's just me and the cat, but I've not done any housework since my friends visited over 2 weeks ago and it needs a good hoover through and cr*p has started to built up on my table. I'm sat here and looking out the window and I've seen my neighbour mow her lawn and trim the hedge .... too cold out there for me.
Day off tomorrow - so domestic drudgery first thing, go to my mums and torment my niece, then to the supermarket. The rest of the weekend may be a bit hazy as the village pub has a beer festival (well you need to support local businesses)
Am trying to build up to do the ironing - maybe I'll dig out a funny dvd and get on with it
Keep up the good work folks !0 -
I haven't done much today at all apart from going to work but i'm off tommorow so hoping to get stuck in then.
Lainz - I like to catch up with the soaps etc when I'm doing my ironing too it's a great distraction from the huge pile.
I have a tomato plant on my kitchen window sill that needs to go outside now so hoping to get that done tommorow too.

Rigsby smart thinking about making sure the bins are full i never thought of that.
Well yesterday after finishing the wallpaper on tues i got my mirror up in the hall and all the doors wiped down so it looks lovely now just need the rest to look good.
Today did wm x 1 td x 1 and dishwasher on and emptied . Finally wallpapered the wall in the kitchen so thats all decorated now just need to change worktop and get my new hob fitted and taps. can't wait.
My oh has decided that next week as we have no school runs to do we are going to gut the living room completely and move all the furniture and give the laminate floor a good scrub. Doesn't need decorating as we did it just before xmas.
Good luck ladies and babysteps seem to be working for me. Just need to learn to keep on top of each room as they are finished.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

I don't have this problem. When anyone comes round I point to the fact, I live in an Inspiration Art Installment, that makes reference to Tracey Emin.My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

Hi all, we have finally tackled the freezer today. It hadn't been defrosted for at least eighteen months and the two top shelves with the drop down flaps were frozen up. Now have nice clean freezer and can go out and buy some meat and frozen veg which I have been trying to avoid buying whilst I have been running it down enough to defrost.
I have a question. I read yesterday, might have been on here but definitely an old style thread, that bread that has been defrosted can be re-frozen, also vegetables. Does anyone know? I always thought that you shouldn't re- freeze anything in the same state. Don't want to throw my bread away but couldnt get it in the freezer bags. Most things managed to stay frozen and I have just put a few things in the fridge to use up tomorrow and threw some ice cream and lolleys away. Hate throwing food out.Second purse £101/100

Im off to the gp this morning then the shops. Not sure what jobs Ill do today. The kitchen and the floors need a clean, bathroom and a general tidy up downstairs. Dd room Ill see if I have the motivation later.
Esther Im not sure about refreezing bread. Id look it up on the net as Im sure someone somewhere has the answer. My freezer needs defrosting so another job for my list.
I keep looking at my shelves in the livingroom as they are neat and tidy and also at my desk which is no longer piled with rubbish. It feels weird.
OOH Helen Jelly I belive Saint Ives is lovely . The only thing that puts me off is the travel as oh can not sit for long due to his back. Trains are so expensive but that would be the only option we could take.
We are off to Wales in August for a week hoping we get the weather.0 -
I'm at work and thought I had to log on to the call centre at 9.45 and then remembered it a Friday and I start at 10.15 today.....lol.....so I've busted a gut to get out of the flat, to the bank and into the office before I needed to.......doh, stupid stupid.
On the plus side, I hustled around and left the flat in good order in case someone burgles me over the bank holiday weekend. Dishes are washed and put away, sink and draining board cleaned and shiny and the counters scrubbed.
Just realised that the secret to having a tidy home is obvious.....live elsewhere.......:rotfl:
Have a good Friday and weekend, Messies. I shall be at Clutter Central, otherwise known as my parents' home. Love them lots but boy oh boy, that clutter.........:eek:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
