Agh Rigsby !. Iv had fleas off the cats in the house and Is a pain. Look on the bright side though the hen house will be spotless.

Im going to wash our rugs this week as apart from the mud that the animals dragged in with the rain, the mouse would have been on them and their poo as they are incontinent.
Oh has been cleaning the windows and son is doing dishes so Im really lucky today Iv got all the floors but not much else.

    .

I frontlined the 2 cats and 3 kittens so they should be ok for a while as i wouldn't like to be dealing with fleas and red mites . Yes the hen house will be spotless but not for long, hens are sh!7ing machines :rotfl::eek:.

Snookey - brave woman - a mouse loose aboot ma house would drive me OUT!!

Rigsby - I know nada about chicks and mites but I take it that its serious so I hope the nasty little burgers are well and truly dead [the mites and not the chicks]

Had a CBA morning - DH didn't leave for work till 1.30 and he spent most of the morn moping cos he CBA to go to work - makes me even worse if he's like that. We popped to the lottie and watered. When he went to work I put away 5 piles of ironed stuff, had a mini sort out of my clothes [charity or Fleabay] sewed [is that a word??] up the cushion cover I've just finished knitting [my first project] cooked tea for kiddies - well actually I sent DD to the chip shop - a once in a blue moon treat for them

I also dyed some more white towels a Lilac colour but I think I put too many in the machine so I'll have to buy some more stuff and do it again

I have also stripped off the arm cushion covers and 1 back cushion cover from the sofa and put them in the machine, will do the rest later and then need to try and work out how to wash the seats as they can't come off and they are really, really yucky!!

Off to browse some blogs now - I love reading them

Yes apparently red mites can be serious and course death of a chook by making them anemic by feeding from the chooks :(.
You may have had a CBA morning but it seems you got plenty done this afternoon.
Hope you DS is better after his accident with the trampoline.

I woke really early this morning (need blackout blinds) which has left me feeling exhausted before the day has really begun.
The last few days I have sold and bought a sofa.Today my `new` sofa is being delivered ,which will be challenging as my old one isnt being picked up until tomorrow

    Hello Elaine!

I recommend IKEA for the blackout roller blinds. We got some last year - not expensive and we fitted the blinds into our old fittings and we cut them to size. Great solution for the early mornings. Strangley I felt awake still at 5.20am. (Our windows are huge so other than buying the IKEA blinds it would have been specialist ones, so ours do leak light a little).

We are waiting for a new sofa too from John Lewis after selling 2 old sofas earlier in the week. We've had the opposite problem - nothing to sit on since Monday night! And now they are going to be 12 hours late delivering them - at least the man on the phone was lovely, did his best to get them here today and he called early so as not to leave us waiting all day.:T

Off to iron shower curtain (washed this AM) so I can have a lovely shower and do my toenails in pretty pink! It's well deserved after cleaning this AM and washing all the floors (no carpets for us!).

    Have a lovely evening!

  • snookey you are 1 brave woman!!! I haven't been on for quite a while but I have been cleaning like mad in between visits to Boots and Primark!!! It's a nice feeling to have a fairly clean house and definitely little and often is the way forward. One benefit of having a fairly decent house is that I have started to look after myself better, ie straighten my hair, lovely bubble baths, glass of wine, having my nails done, etc. These are all the 'rewards' I get whenever I clean something that I've put off for ages. After all. I'm worth it!!

Coo - has the housework fairy been attacking us all??? Sounds as if we need to be renamed the 'fairly messies' as everyone seems to be taking lots of baby steps.

Hall is now looking and smelling very nice - as is utility room. Have done weekly shop today and that is all put away. After my 'discussion' with OH he cleared the kitchen and washed up this morning :j it was so nice to go down to a clean tidy kitchen.

Laundry is hung out so will get that in soon, and put potato wedges on to cook and make barbecue sauce to go with our burgers. Getting my hair cut tomorrow - friend is doing a hairdressing course and got an emergency message that his model had let him down and could I come in for his assessment! Heaven knows what he will do with my hair but it will make a change.

Onward to watch Great British Menu - then dinner and consequent tidying.

That's OK I am not letting the side down/up/whatever, my house is still a tip; although sons bedroom is now completely prepared for painting and in fact the cutting in has been done already :)
