Morning. Today I'm mainly doing garden stuff. Just having a brew after undercoating the back of the garage (yep, finally got round to it). I received a massive bag of plants yesterday so I need to plant them. I also need to do a couple of trays of strawberry plants for Father. Once the beds are cleared I'll put the weed membrane down and forget about that bit of the garden for a while.
In the house I've changed the sheets and put some laundry in the machine, a bit of tidying to do and some ironinhg and that's it for me.
Enjoy your day.0 -
Hi Messies!
JPS!!! Great to hear from you again! I`m so glad you`ve been having a better year than last year, and keeping on top of stuff - especially the garden. Outdoorsing is good for you!
Mine is more jungly than ever, but still heaving with birds, plus squirrels and regular fox sightings, and molehills all over the place, and a variety of small rodents that we only see when puss has persecuted them to death and left by the back door!
Bees, the `hotels` were all full quite early this year, and next door`s bird-box had a colony of tree bumbles in it. I can`t see why yours isn`t occupied, but is it south-facing? Still zillions of various bumbles on the lavender, nasturtiums & bindweed too. Sadly, the bindweed is more prolific than the nasturtiums this year!
I have kept up better indoors than with the garden, but that`s not saying much....
Well done folks who`ve managed to get things done - Alec E, I just love that phrase "pinging from job to job"!! It`d be more like ricocheting in my case, when I try to get lots done!
Dibuzz, it`s good that you`re getting out and about, and when you`re home and doing smaller things remember all the small things add up too.
I`ve done very little today, shined the sink & cooked some pork loin for today & after work tomorrow, then out and about getting used to my `new` car (I love it!)
Hope everyone`s having a decent week so far...x0 -
I've cleaned the front windows, in and out, with my super-duper Karcher machine! I love it.
Just been to JS for £20 of stuff to get the petrol voucher.
Good to see,we are all plodding on.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Hello All. I know I keep coming and going but I am working on the house so I try to stay away from the computer -too distracting!
My garden is tidy thanks to the combined efforts of hubby and myself. I hired a company which will wash all windows and doors (the outside that is) for £8 a month. It is not much and I have no head for heights (or a ladder for that matter).
The kitchen is finally under control. The bathroom is too. I still have an excess of items in the living room but the entrance hallway if fine.
My bedroom however is horrible! I have no idea what to do. I have clothes and no place for them. I share a chest of drawers with hubby and we get 2 drawers each. It is not enough. My closet is tiny. I have some acrylic container under the bed with yarn and shoes. I don't want to put clothes under the bed because I will never see them again. In the meantime I don't have an airing cupboard so I have a shelving unit by the bed stacked with bedsheets, towels and blankets. I feel this bedroom is my Waterloo!

If there really is nowhere else in your home for the yarn, bedding and towels then I think they'd be best under the bed. If you can, keep a spare towel or two in your bathroom so you're not having to ferret under the bed all the the time, but they're stored and out of the way and not clogging your bedroom up with non-bedroom stuff.
That would free up the shelving unit for clothes which, while maybe not ideal, would at least make a little bit more room for you to put your stuff away.
It's so easy to let the bedroom become a dumping ground for everything. When I got rid of my junk and started to get organised I started with my bedroom. Even when the rest of the house was still a tip it was so nice to end the day somewhere nice and relaxing.0 -

The good news about the yarn is that I am using it to knit jumpers (I'm knitting them right now -not some future project). So it is not going to be in containers forever. Yes, I think I could fit some bedding stuff under the bed. I like the idea of keeping a spare towel in the bathroom. Maybe get some good looking boxes to put the clothes in and put these on the shelves. I know from experience loose clothes on a shelf then to turn into a mess in no time.
Thank you for the pep talk! :T..............................................................................

Glad it gave you some food for thought. It's so easy to get a bit blind to other options when you're looking at your own rooms and you're just in that state of frustration with it. Believe me, I have been there!0
